Only half? Hmm... About ninety procent of the gifts that I've gotten so far have given me berries. Wonder what's going on. Maybe it's a percentage chance, and I've gotten extremely lucky (or you unlucky).

About the friends gifting gems and berries... Do we know if there is a cap on how many you can receive in a day? If so, that might somehow be affecting the people who getting some gifts with no berries attached. I'm just trying to figure it out. I have also received some gems with no berries attached.
Well, I received 6 gems with Berries yesterday, so maybe 60.

Daily cap either doesn't exist or it's really high.
I have been very spoiled by my friends and received 130 berries yesterday and a little less today. However, i noticed that the gem received from one and the same friend did not have berries attached on two following days. I can t figure out why. Actually, i received another gem from a friend without any berries attached, so i went to visit their parks and noticed the following: By now, everybody should have gotten the first reward, the snow star, those two players still have them in their event island. I thus assume, they did not upgrade their game and do not participate in the event and thus, the gems they give are not linked with berries. Those two players are Mario and Melminx.

Thanks but no thanks. Even though I still can't find him. I have even taken to moving habitats out of the way so I can look in odd corners. I am beginning to think I will need to carpet the islands in bushes so he has nowhere to stand except on the portal stones.

Not a good idea I think. When guests can only stay on the portal, they warp in and out very quickly. They pretty much start the warp out animation the second they are done warping in. Most likely you if you saw Sandaklauz you would not have time to click him.
But... guests will favor the island that isn't bush-carpeted. Maybe if you carpeted all islands but one, and focused on the one island where he WONT be on the portal... that could work.
Ok so lets do some new math # of berries 40 for eggs 40 for treats 40 for habitat collection 25 for the coliseum 24 for the clause 10 for visiting friends So that's 179 easy to get berries now it gets tricky 60 more from getting gifts making it 239 with some friends Next 40 for gems is 279 plus 10 for clearing means max 289 per day
Now 8160 is the cost for everything -50 for the tutorial is 8110 assume 2 double weekends for 6 days making the event 30 days idk who im quoting on that 8110/30 is 271 per day. So it's possible to get everything Without paying, just really really really really really really really really hard. With 6 gifts a day no and no obstacles to clear if you spend 25 gems a days (one large habitat making it 15) on non double days and max on double days you will get the dragonsai thingy.
So total gems needed is 810.... Earning 12 a day during the event means you needed 522 gems minimum yesterday. Yay math. Do with this as you please. It gets more complicated if you can make the double weekends last 4 days but I'm not getting into that.
My number of actively playing friends on Android has dramatically diminished. I could really use some friends on the Android platform who are willing to swap daily gems (and iceberries). Any takers? Message me your facebook info . . .

I've "locked" in my portals using the spooky fences and when Santa has appeared there, it doesn't take long to click him. And if he does warp out, he usually warps back in a few seconds. I have a theory that he stays on one island till you find him.

Yesterday I got 12 gems with 110 berries attached
It maxes out at 240
Also, there are bunch of new Christmas decoration in the market, three of which you can only get by buying a bundle for 50 gems (Everburning Candles, Frozen Goodies and Sandakloz's Hut). I'll be picking that up when my Iceberries timer resets.
I'll be buying that 50'gem set during a double weekend to maki,Ine what I get for it.
Be aware, you don't get Iceberry credit for this gem purchase.
"However, I'm waiting. Apparently the 50 gems don't count as gems being spent, and you don't get Iceberries for them. Bane cane on the DV Wikia has contacted BFS, and I'm waiting to hear if he gets a response and to see if that's adjusted, cause I'd really like Iceberries for spending my gems."

It could be possible. Hope they go ahead and update soon! I could use the berries
Now, I did receive an instance of berries and treats, but no gems. (Rats, I need the gems!) So I went and checked out the friends park. They'd bought the berries for most of the prizes, so it was cool to see the winter island theme! The little slopes on the side of the island have an animation on them. Every now and then a wizard slides down
The Snowflake dragons are cute and all, but whenever I see them my brain goes But, Steve! Real snowflakes are hexagonal! and I have to tell it to shut up, that they're magical dragons and can be whatever shape they want to be.
It doesn't like that very much. No wonder we don't get along.

Is BeB available without updating? One of my friends who I haven't received berries from has breed a LY. If only I could send a, ahem, strongly worded message to them to update their game...I need mah berries!
