So I wasn't here for the start of the event, but I think I have all the new things listed in the poll. If not, please let me know. There's nothing I can do about it, but I would like to know.
And I especially want to hear from the new people. Been lurking awhile and never/rarely posted? This is the time to let us know what you thought. Place your vote and then post here to say why. We want to hear from you.
There was also the new Winter theme that you can now access after the event through the Twlilight Tower. It's always nice having the choice of a new background and music.
I think I liked the extra gem the best. I probably have around 9 or so regular gifters, so it's nice to be able to accommodate more people in the daily cycle. Normally I would choose the event exclusive dragon(s), but I didn't much care for how the Snowflake dragons were implemented.

Another thing you have forgotten is the Sandaklos hunt. I know. I want to blot out all memory of him too, but there have been several "I miss him" type comments.

I am torn between the ability to gift treats and the extra gifting gem, both are great. But I think the extra gem wins, by a slim margin. I also really liked that we could help each other during the event by sending iceberries along with the gem and treats gifts. And getting the coal dragon (and diamond) at Christmas in the same way. These were not permanent additions, but were a nice touch.

Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.

Ahh, I didn't hear about that. I don't hand that Tower, so I didn't realise it did things other than change night and day. That's pretty cool.

On balance, it was the ability to gift treats, which allows help for lower level friends.
Other good features were the background theme and the wonderland theme, I really like the toboggan run! And I thoroughly enjoyed the Santa hunt, which added another way to collect the reward currency.
The diminishing returns for the habitat collections seemed to be less extreme; on several occasions I collected 18 lots, 2 off the max, in my first sweep of the day. However the treats seemed to be far harder to get the max, sometimes I would be still getting them late at night.
I like the idea of the snowflake variants. Still need a 3 in one of my parks, boo. But a slight variation in the egg design so they could be identified would have been very welcome. Edit: I think BFS missed a trick: if the eggs could have been identifiable in the nursery, then more eggs would have been sped up, using up gems and possibly leading to more gem sales. What do others think?
I was resigned to only getting the treatery without spending cash, but the last double weekend meant that I got the dragonsai Bush in both parks. Which was a definite result.

Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...
During the event I'd liked best that we could help each other with gifting gems. I enjoyed the hunt for Sandakloz very much.
After the event the extra daily gem and the winter background are much appreciated.
I was a bit disapointed that again we had no snow. The island theme looks good but the seasonal decoration changes that we had during the second winter of DV were just great. All those houses with wreaths at the doors, the red ties (loops / bends ?) at each egg nest, the frosted trees.... I also would have loved it if the winter background would have been associated with slow falling snow. But maybe this would have been to memory intensive.

dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
Just voted for the abilitiy to gift treats as the Treatery is a welcome addition to my park! I think a future event will require levelling up dragons to acheive prizes of dragons and goodies. I base that not only on the Treatery entering the equation but also the new type of Treat Farm that can grow substantially more treats. At some point I see BFS encouraging us toward level 20 dragons as a way to keep players invested in the game. The Winter Wonderland theme would have been my choice if the Treatery did not exist.

I'm not sure this will happen. BFS has to balance these events for older and new players. Newer parks have a difficult time during these events due to the fact that they have less resources (less habitats and less dragoncash and gems) so they're already inclined to buying the third currency. Yes they do have more obstacles to clear, but that still costs dragoncash and is limited to 5 a day. Adding the leveling aspect would make it near impossible for new players and possibly turn them off from returning in the long run.

I really enjoyed almost every aspect of the Winter event, including looking for Santa. The one part I would change is the tremendously diminishing returns on growing treats. I rarely got all of them before the daily reset. My favorite addition was definitely the Dragonsai Bush. I had to spend a few RL dollars to be sure to get it, but the ability to gift even one more gem was well worth it to me. I hope we get to increase our gem giving in the future. I wish we could give the treats to the same number of people. It seems to be stressing me to have to decide who gets treats and not gems each day, and is adding to the records I have to keep. But, all in all, a successful & enjoyable event for me. Oh, and I really like the Wonderland theme ( with the sledding villagers) & the winter sky.

See I use treats to extend who to respond to gifts to. So with gems+treats I can send a gift to 10 people a day! (At first I was going to visit the parks adn decide who needed food. But then I realized that was just too much work.)

I do that too. Though occasionally someone will get both. I decide gift/treat based on level. Low levels get treats for preference as I remember the days of struggling to get enough food to level a dragon to 10. Mind you it may not be valid. These days I struggle to get enough food to level a dragon to 20.

Vonfirmath, that's what I started out doing, but then some people began giving me treats and a gem, so I should return both to them, right? Then, I also thought about giving based on who needed food, but like you, decided that was too much work. I may try gregdarcy's method although I believe most of my friends are level 60. See, I'm still confused as to what to do. Now, it's more like closing my eyes, touching a name & saying "ok, you get treats, this one gets a gem" & so on. Maybe I should send a message to each one & ask which they would prefer. See, BFS--in being generous you've made my life more complicated!
