Maybe its time for a roll call of GCIDs for friends with a decent shot at the Omnitat with a little extra help.
I, known herein as waggintail, Saimin Sam in "the Game Center" and other ways elsewhere, declare myself to be within range of aquiring the Omnitat without benefit of further floral bequests, and hereby release my friends to gift elsewhere for the duration of the Event (up to and including, but not to exceed, 11am CMT, February 23, 2015. Batteries not included. Each sold separately.).

Actually. Poopyface I just got the omnitat in my big park this morning. The little park is a few days away. And should get there with a little help from my friends. Now why does that have a familiar ring? My tiny park and micro park are other stories entirely. Sigh.

I release my friends to gift others in need. I am less than 100 roses from the omnitat. I have gone through my list of friends to see who needs help. I found many forum members who are still on the 2nd Thorn, but within reach of the omnitat with help. My list includes: Debstoy, emandbuddy, gdan 73, Kevinjsausa, mishkasmom, nonnyd, Rainlover, shernea220, Shotgunsalley, stuzie24, and Winou. If I missed anyone, I am sorry. My gifts will go to helping as many as I can over the next few days. I'll see my regular gem partners after the event.

shernea220, I'm glad I could help. I just got my Omnitat, so pass the roses on to someone who needs them. I placed my Bouquet and Bearded, that I had crowned in honor of my parents, in the Omnitat along with a baby Cotton and a crowned Panlong. I was going to put my crowned Paper in there, but the baby Cotton is really cute walking around on the air plateau, and the Paper is used often in the coliseum, so I may leave it like this or I may decide to put a couple of Sprouts in there, to make it a family. My biggest challenge was finding a place for the habitat, I wasn't ready to totally redo my islands, because I like the way they are set up. Luckily, I just had to move my volcano to a different spot, and my omnitat could be on an island with 3 boosts.

I'm really liking this event. Just got my second thorn, may or may not get omnitat, but so far I've managed to get amethyst, seed, orouboros, snowy bronze, just moved moonstruck to the nursery and got a silver first try. Only carnival being difficult. Definitely like having three breeding sites.
I lied, I have a carnival in the nursery! And a seasonal
I'm now about 50 short of the Omnitat, will get 15 from the colliseum in ~12 hours, but will have to wait for the refresh to get the last few I think.
Edit: just got the Omnitat, used it for Seasonal and Dream to get a couple of hibernated dragons out, and now have a free habitat slot that I'm not sure what to do with.
Probably another light habitat, but I will consult my spreadsheet tomorrrow.
I'm still just hoping to get the 2nd Thorn... 215 roses to go... Highly unlikely I'll get another 1100 to get the Omnitat.
You can get a second thorn any time by pairing the first with a plant dragon, a plain plant dragon, fails are 30 seconds
The trouble is you still have to get the thorn dragon prize on the way to the omnitat.
