Yes, I think Backflip have done well with this event.
I don't want any of the figurines, and none of the themes I think. What I REALLY want are the new dragons, and one each of the hot air balloons. I think that a new balloon will be available at each stage of the event and I'm looking forward to seeing them floating around above my islands.
During the previous events I found it maddening to HAVE to work towards things I really DIDN'T want so I could attain the ones I DID want. Unless I'm wrong about how it all works, I'll be able to achieve everything I want without too much trouble - in which case I'll happily throw in a dollar or two for the Backflip coffers.

I was so cross eyed at the end of it I did not see if I got Tickets for the Colosseum and if I did where they went. To everyone who has received extra Tickets after they reached 650: had you spent any of your Tickets and where did the extras go?
Since I am at the top of my friends' Friends List I have set my Twilight Tower to Day and Weather Station to None. Should make it a wee bit easier to locate Party Hats! I will keep them set that way unless I need to temporarily reset for a breeding.

I got 110 tickets and 5 gems out of my 5 spin the wheel plays (40+15+40+5gems+15) so it can be decent. I didn't realize it would share turns with the name the dragon game or I would have given at least one try to that game.
Golly gosh! Can I rub your head for luck? Three Wheel spins netted me a grand total of 3 Tickets! Switched to Name That Dragon and at least recognized baby Ghost and baby Blizzard for 15 and 15.
One is for sure in the CBC, breeding Hypnotic with rulilind's Malachite. Thank you!

Nothing there but maybe it is because I had the Colosseum started before the Event started. We will have to check tomorrow to see which Tickets carry over and which ones you just don't receive (spending Gems, Party Hats, etc) after maxing out.
I did the tutorial and got 150 tickets. When I did, my entire iPad crashed, not just the game. I had to reboot. So what is this about getting 1000 tickets for completing the tutorial?

As I said earlier today, I was able to tap on another prize in the tutorial and skip buying the fire theme. Hoped someone else would try that and get lucky like I did. But it is too late once you have finished the tutorial. Thinking more about what Fletch said, what probably happened was...since I started the tutorial several hours earlier in the day, I already had the tickets, then I just got really lucky and came back after the theme purchase was eliminated. So what I thought was a clever workaround, was really just a very lucky break. I usually struggle through these events and can't get all the prizes, so if all goes well, I'll have to make a small BFS donation toward the end.

Awww! My baby park could have used an extra theme! Oh well, I'm too happy with this new event to be annoyed that once again due to a glitch some players got extra stuff and others didn't. I've been on the receiving end of extra glitch stuff twice I think, so I hope for those who got to keep that extra 1000 you enjoy it!

Yeah, when I did the tutorial in my second park they had removed the Fire theme option. Pity, because I could have used it there. Lol

The number is going up fairly rapidly, I think it might be the total amount of tickets collected.
Interesting note: If you hit your max tickets for the day, then collect gem+ticket gifts from friends, you'll collect the gem, and the ticket portion stays banked in the gifts list. Thumbs up to BFS, for making sure those gifts are not lost.
This was the way gift overloads were handled in previous events. Nothing new. Except that it is easier to hit the cap now as there is just a single overall ceiling.

I'd be inclined to spin the wheel instead of playing Name that Dragon even though the latter is probably more fun, just because you could potentially win gems when you spin the wheel. Since there's a total limit for the number of tickets, we can probably make up the amount of tickets elsewhere.

To those who are still struggling with being locked out of this event due to a glitch: I wrote to BFS and customer service responded a few hours later (!!!). It seems the glitch has been fixed for those who started later. If you're still having trouble, contact BFS directly: very responsive and helpful. Sending tons of koala your way!

My tickets for the colosseum fell into the Rift too. Has anyone had tickets from the colosseum? Are we just seeing old pre event races or do you lose colosseum tickets as well as other smaller stuff once you max out. If the latter, it will affect game play as I will avoid spending gems/ visiting until after the colosseum finishes

I am really liking this event. I liked all the others but this one is the best. I want the dragons and those hot air balloons. I have been dying for some different decorations and those balloons fit the bill. Now if only I could get some flowers (not flower boxes) to plant I would be a happy camper for a little while.
