I have a scenario I'd like to test, but perhaps someone has already done it. If I am close to the daily max and go to friends to collect party hats, will the game end when I reach the max or will it let me continue collecting from all my friends and put the extra tickets into the Gift area? Anyone?
I believe I read on the BFS help page that you can play the Challenge game 5 times each day or cycle.
So the added challenge is to predict which play is going to produce a 100 (200 doubled) ticket win instead of a 50 (100 doubled) ticket win and leave that one alone for banking after the daily cap...
Has anyone noticed whether the win total follows a pattern? Maybe each day's challenges will always produce the same result (by challenge name) for everybody, in which case somebody can play a few on a baby park until a 100 ticket winner is identified and then we can all stop on that one if there's enough time. Or maybe win total depends on successfully interpreting a hint provided by the challenge name (i.e. I'm not sure there's a pattern yet, but if I recall correctly when I used a Firefly dragon on the "Firefly Chase" challenge I got a max win and when I used a Fireworks dragon on the "Firework" challenge I got a max win). Does winning the max prize have better odds for high-level dragons or for dragons that match the event phase (currently fire and air)?

Another thing to add to the best event ever list: Double days are activated at the same time as reset! No more waiting to collect tickets to see if there will be a double weekend.
Also, since it's so easy for me to hit the cap, I think I'm going to keep my island uncleared for the next event just in case.
I actually regard this as a negative since it no longer allows clever time management to achieve an extra day of doubling...
You can still pull it off. Just open your park 5 minutes before the reset, wait for it happen, and then you can still collect doubles even though it ended.
Perfect use case for your banked tickets as well. You can reach the 1000 cap in less than a minute.

(I'll soon find out if this extends to the Colosseum, but I doubt it). In any event, any gifts given to you after ceiling time will call up the warning you've maxed out.

I've read elsewhere that the winnings from the coliseum do not carry over to gifts, but I can't be sure until you test it. Just looking for another method to save those extra tickets and thought if I was in the process of visiting friends perhaps it would let me continue until I finished with everyone. Thanks.

Fun is a very personal thing! For me it's fun to collect everything in a level or figure out how to maximize my returns on a process. This is why there are people who try to set the world record in a speed run through Super Mario Brothers, or try to beat the Legend of Zelda all the way through to the final boss without collecting any heart containers, or adopt a "character-death is final" rule in Skyrim...
(...and don't say anything, but there are some weirdos out there who actually do have fun making spreadsheets... {shudder})

Thanks for the info. I am at 1645 and my coliseum is ready. If I don't play the coliseum now I am possibly wasting 5 gems. I wish they would save the extras as gifts, but I'll get over it.

Why not? You are allowed to buy tickets, which obviously you can redeem, and I don't think the game can tell the difference between bought and non bought tickets.
Yeah, they are totally separate things. There are players with all the prizes from the first phase because they bought tickets. Bought tickets are not affected by the max you can redeem in a day. So it's certainly conceivable that you can only buy tickets in the last week to help you get those last couple of prizes you wanted, and from a business POV that would make the most sense.
I feel very bad raising a complaint about what I consider a much improved 'event system' - BUT - I was quite excited after accumulating sufficient tickets to buy my first hot air balloon this morning, and happily dragged it all over the sky looking for a suitable spot to let it loose. Oh NO! It can only sit on the GROUND!
Please Backflip, this is a hot AIR balloon, and they are supposed to FLY.

For those of you that have bought tickets, do you have to redeem them from the gift menu or do they go straight to the ticket counter? If you have to redeem them, banking might work.

Seems to me that banking 3500 extra tickets would be spectacular enough!
3000, the event ends in the 22nd, and collection ends on the 28th. So you need only get so many per day. May I ask, once you've hit the cap, and you collect a gift, it doesn't go into the BFS gift, does it?
But an event running into an extra day is not unheard of.

I'd like to know how others are making their decisions for the Challenge game. We have been (successfully) using the recommendations from the DV Wikia site for the Kairos Quests. I believe the Aerial Stunt is Fire & Air (same as this phase) and we've looked at the choices for Burning Winds = Blazing, Smoke, Firework, Panlong, Rose, Butterfly, Bicentennial. (disclaimer: your results may vary) koala.

I got 200 tickets using the Fireworks dragon.
I had 80 tickets banked from yesterday and was within 52 from today's cap when I completed the tent challenge. I gave me 52 in game to reach my cap and added the rest to the bank in my gifts. So whoohoo! I have 228 in the bank at this point.
