After all my confusion last night with ticket totals I've now apparently maxed out at 2586, which isn't any of the correct figures. Ah well, maybe I'll catch up tomorrow.
The max for each day is 500 (or 1,000 on a doubles day). If you missed the max one time, you cannot "make it up" the next day. So a person who has maxed out every day will have 2650 tickets. My guess is that you did not get the 1000 max yesterday, you were 64 tickets short of max. Anyway, it is a good idea (someone already mentioned it) to take a screenshot of your maxed amount each day so you don't forget your goal for the next day. Koala to you!
Is the amount of gems you can earn from the wheel spin limited? I got gems on my first spin but then they disappeared from the wheel after that. I won gems 3 times throughout this event so far.
ah, thanks for the replies magpac and jamesvaler. idk where but i swear this thread title said 7/16-7/22 but it actually says 7/16-9/28. herpdederpderp
That was from when we only knew it would start during that week of 7/22-7/26.
I see a few of you talking about using tickets to buy the mid day dragon. I've been saving all of mine. I don't have the twilight tower yet.
Just curious to see what everyone is doing. Are you saving tickets or spending as you go?
I have the exact same strategy, as I do not have the twilight tower either. Now how about bringing back the weather station, wouldn't that be cool! Don't have that one either..
But the twirling tickets do drive me insane though, lol!
Regarding the question of banking Spin the Wheel and Name that Dragon tickets: you are not allowed to start either of these games after you have reached the cap, but if you collect tickets conventionally right up to the limit without going over, you can play either game once and any excess winnings will go into the bank. A good strategy is to pay attention as you near the cap and then fine tune how close you are by collecting DC or treats or party hats. Then go for a big win in one of the games to maximize your bank for the day.
It's a good maximisation strategy, but there is really no point as long as you always bank that challenge tent prize!
I have been banking both Challenge tent and Name that Dragon. Start Challenge tent when I am 33 to 50 from max, start and complete Name that Dragon, go back when Challenge ends. Tickets needed to hit max get added first, and remaining combined winnings from both events get added to my "BFS" bank.

I suspect that the people you see buying Midday already have the big stuff from previous events. I have all of them except the Lost Island from last year's Easter event, so buying the Midday dragon as my first purchase was a no-brainer. I'll pick up the hot air balloon and sun island theme, and then I *might* get the two little dragon figures. But they don't really appeal to me. And I'm hoping the Lost Island shows up as a prize later, so I may just hoard extra tickets after getting the things I actually want from each round instead of trying to buy every single thing.
If I didn't have the Twilight Tower, that absolutely would have been what I was saving for. It's worth it!

Reading the posts about not looking for the banner bearers, has anyone noticed that if you find them along with tickets you get 500 GC's? You can get the 500 GC's even if you max out on tickets. 500 x how many days? That's a lot of DC left behind. Just saying.
Correction. It's 500 GC each for 1000 per day!
What do you mean find with tickets? Do they look different?
I hit 660 on the first day. It didn't reset until I hit the limit the next day. Then I dropped back to lock step with everyone else.
Seems to have stuck for me. I'm capped out at 3654 now.
I'd just like to know how I did it...
Same here but the ticket count was at 3754 and I closed and reopened game. Ticket count now at 3654 and the hundred did not bank. Maybe a glitch in the counting?

No. There are only the 2. One with a red flag and one with a blue. If you find them along with getting tickets you get DC as well. I always max out by the time I find them so they are only in my park once. I don't know if you get the coins each time. But even so, at 500 GC each per day over the course of the event, if my counting is correct equals 68 days, that's 68,000 GC. That's a good chunk of change to leave behind.

I am doing both. Getting the stuff I don't have and saving for next event.

That's like saying if you crawl everywhere for 2 months, you will find an extra $0.68 in change on the floor.

Sorry, but for me it is not worth it. If I find the bannered NPCs easily : fine. if not : it's OK too. The tickets can be collected elsewhere. As for the cash : in my big park it takes at least one minute to find them (often more). If I use this minute to click on habitats that fill up quickly and would be full until I'll visit the park again, the amount og 1000 DC is easily achieved.

I think it depends what level you are on. At L11, 500DC is an enormous wad of cash. At L70 it's about a seconds worth of collecting. A single party hat is worth 49,000. Takes several minutes to collect sure but a lot more than 500DC.

On the first day I maxed out at 652. the +2 were carried over from day to day (1652, 2652) We had this before (in previous events) when for example two habitats were collected quickly one after the other. I don't know exactly what I did when I reached the cap because it was only then that I was informed that that was the cap.
And in some of the older events we also had the glitch that the event currency was not accuratly accumulated in the basket, which was corrected by reload.

i have forgotten I had the twilight tower. Now I can see it's rather a nice thing to use. Happy to se you here. i find myself in a DV-situation I am not used to. Missing several dragons, not to mention the Eggs for my Eggland. Why on Earth do they have to speed things up like this? i feel "behind".

I'm saving tickets till the next stage opens. Hopefully a pattern will emerge and I'll be better informed before I start making purchases. It is getting difficult though with the swirling tickets tempting me and seeing Midday Dragons in my friends' parks

I'm torn about the Twilight Tower. It's the only "big" event prize I'm missing so, for the sake of completion, I should go for it. On the other hand, my main goal is always to have all of the dragons so I hate to pass up the chance to get a dragon so easily with these tickets.

Question: If you have the Twilight Tower, are you able to change the background during events? I know this probably sounds silly and trivial, but I have a hard time seeing when there is limited contrast. It's these blasted cataracts. As pretty as this background is, I would really like to turn it off.
