I'm so done with this event. I was out with friends, stayed over with a couple of them, and all I could think of was how I hadn't hit max candy in either of my parks and I wouldn't be home before reset. From now on, I get what I get and I won't stress about maxing or banking
What took you so long? My family discussed quitting, but instead, made a pact yesterday, before reset, that we would not grind for every candy we could get. We decided we didn't need every dragon and every decoration. We have way more important things going on in our lives than DV. I do hope BFS realizes it is a small step from not needing every dragon to not needing any dragons.
As Jolies said, it has possibly been the only game you could complete with spending money for a very long time. Had to end eventually. Simpsons Tapped Out has exclusive content you need to spend cash on every event they run. Learning to live without is a great way to get by.
And they will learn, and adjust things next event.

My suspicion is that they won't be breedable except as clones until BeB (at least) I think they realised their mistake having Epics as rewards which are breedable if you could find a friend with one, and have closed that loophole by making all reward dragons basic limiteds.

I'm really hoping that won't be the case GregDarcy if I've remembered correctly even when Tidal was super limited it was also breedable. BFS haven't yet gone down that road of not making all dragons possible with some really koala... Maybe there will be more double days than we would normally expect or what if when the moon is full that's when all new dragons become breedable, now that would be good!

Some timing factors I have come across: -Food. 10 minutes to grow enough food for 40 (80 on doubles) candies. Grow the 30 second food and collect it 1 farm at a time. -Eggs. 10 minutes to buy and hatch Plant dragons @ 2 candies per dragon, for the 40 candy total. -Party Hats. Allow around one minute per friend you want to visit. 90 parks/friends would take around 90 mins and net you 450 (900) candies. -Pumpkins. 25 minutes is the shortest time it has taken me to find all pumpkins in my lvl 70 park. -Wheel. Only a few minutes to take all 10 spins. 5 minutes max.
So for myself, I have 144 parks to visit which is 2 hrs and 24 minutes. Plus 20 minutes for eggs and food. Another 30 minutes for the pumpkins makes 3 hrs 14 minutes for approx 540 candies. I also have to wait around 10 hrs for each challenge to finish and log in at the right time to get my Collosseum winnings. A lot of these methods are inefficient I know; but I'm just trying to give everyone an idea of what it will take to max out each day. Koala to everyone and I hope we all somehow will be happy with our prizes at the rnd of this marathon.
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890

Accidentally collected from the Competition Ring 5 times instead of banking the last one... stupid

Was just looking at the event island today, and it's using the Moon theme, even though it's a little smaller than the regular islands. Since the Sun theme features a big sun at the top, I was wondering why the Moon theme doesn't have a moon on top to match the Sun theme.
Then I saw the moon... at the bottom of the island. Nice touch, BFS.

That is the way I have played every other event. I think for me it is a challenge I have to complete. However, I have have been burned out on events, and after the "grinding free" Faire, I simply refuse to grind. Tedious grinding makes me angry! For me the purpose of a game is to relax and have some fun, so this event I am refusing to grind. Real life is too busy and full to let a game make me mad.

The only candies that can be "banked" are the ones earned in Cometition Ring, Wheel of Chance, and name that dragon.

What happens now? Will I still get my normal 5 after reset and this one as well or will this one count as part of the 5?

Good question. I'm guessing that the candies you collect from it will go towards today's max, but that you'll still get the five spins from the reset. Let us know how it plays out.

I visited each of 45 Friends for party hats while watching tv for a couple of hours. Admittedly, I left each as soon as I got the Candied Party Hat.
The day before, I did the speed-breeding Plants, for which there seems to be no limit. Did two batches of 25 (100 candies each) pretty quickly! Still not as much of a GRRind as planting shrubberies was It helps if the Breeding Cave and Nursery are next to each other and ReBreed button rocks!

Skeeter, I don't spend money in the other parks so they don't have new ones yet, I have been breeding my other parks with my main one and no new ones have appeared yet. I'm not rush breeding though, so I have only tried a couple of times.
The Lycan cooperative breeding with another Lycan did indeed turn out to be another Lycan, hopefully that will be the case for the rest when I can find someone who is as crazy (& as impatient) as me to spend money, lol.
Have we figured out if Lycan can be bred with Lycan + epic in the CBC?

I totally did that too. The author edits proof of my newest book came in WAY LATE so I worked literally 36 of the 48 hours Thursday and Friday and then finished polishing on Saturday to get all my design edits and final proof edits over to the editing team at the publishing house. I thought about the stupid contest a couple times and finally realized I just need to enjoy what I can and let the rest go. Whatever I get is whatever I get and that will be more than I had two weeks ago so no worries.
After all, this is a game and is supposed to be fun. I already have one job and I don't want another. I like that I can put in as much time and effort as I want. At the end of the event I'll see how many candies I end up with and count whatever prizes I can get as a bonus. I like that I can put in a few minutes a couple times a day and still make progress and can participate in the events as much or as little as I want.

They reset at a different time to when the Magic resets, so you can collect them twice in one event day. They reset at the same time as the Elder Flag bearers do. 11pm I believe.
