They reset at a different time to when the Magic resets, so you can collect them twice in one event day. They reset at the same time as the Elder Flag bearers do. 11pm I believe.
I was thinking if I did that I wouldn't get them the next but I would wouldn't I. It does help me to wait until I'm rested to figure things like this out. Lol

Yes, but not until after the 11pm reset. Essentially one day you will be able to collect them twice.

Hi all, Venturing into the light to suggest an alternative to grinding plant dragons. Clone sandstorms instead! 2 hour breed time, 20 candies (40 during doubles) every time. Conveniently in sync with Competition Ring. Air-sandstorm combo is less preferable because, although air dragons also have a two hour breed time, they earn only 2 (or 4) candies.

So the first day or so, my winnings from the competition ring were all over the place while I tested a strategy of focusing on aligning the name of the competition with the dragon name. Sure enough, when I went back to ignoring the name and using just the elements plus high level dragons (the strategy I used during the Faire), I'm back to getting maximum candy consistently each time. In my level 70 park, I'm getting best results from level 16+ dragons with the correct elements.
What's everyone else seeing on that?

Ground out 448 candies through plant dragon breeding. Took 17 minutes. Not too terrible, listened to TV while doing it. Less frustrating than hunting for teleporting pumpkins.
Do you guys think we'll get to use any/all of our banked candy? Hoping so, but if it turns into food I wouldn't mind that much.

Have gotten max every time so far (14 times, about) using about 11 different level 16s and 3ish level 20s. They all were correct elements. I don't believe I've seen a combo more than once yet, but I imagine they'll start repeating eventually.

I have made one vow to myself during this event -- no money will be spent. I'll get whatever I get and won't be upset (I tell my 6-year-old that often).
So far I've hit the max in candies each day (not easily but it's been done) and I will do my best to hit my max daily. But if not, c'est la vie.

I just clicked on the competition ring for what I thought was my finally challenge from yesterday only to get one more. So while I did start it before the reset but it won't finish until after. What happens now? Will I still get my normal 5 after reset and this one as well or will this one count as part of the 5?
Good question. I'm guessing that the candies you collect from it will go towards today's max, but that you'll still get the five spins from the reset. Let us know how it plays out.
I guess I should have backed off in collecting candies more. I hit max before I could try for the 6 competition. So I don't know whether I would have gotten it or not.

I ended up Again! with my over-the-limit candies showing in my tally, but not banked. This time I waited to tap the final Challenge until I logged out, waited a little while, and logged back in. My tally then showed the proper Max amount and I was able to collect all 200 candies from the final challenge. So, although I did lose the 16 candies over the max, an additional 16 wasn't taken from the last 200 like last time!
