As with previous events, you can extend the double candies by leaving your park open when the reset happens.
I opened my park 2 hours ago and I'm still collecting double candy right now.
Once you leave the game, does it correct your total afterwards? Say you leave the game with 9150 candies and when you open the total will fall back to 8150? That's happened to me when I've gone over the max due to lag.

Nope, it sticks. I rebooted my tablet to make sure, and I'm still at 9150.

If I max out today ill be 1800+ candies behind where I should be; Im not too disappointed with that. Bred a Sanguinite last night in the co-op, so at least my hatchery will be freed-up for Plant dragons
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890

Wow, really? How long can you continue with this? It would be difficult for my game, which I play on my phone, not to log out in about 1 minute due to non-activity. Hmmm... I don't think I want to stare at my phone and keep moving around in the park constantly to keep the game actively going, but this is very interesting. I guess you still hit the max when you hit it...and perhaps reduce the amount of time you have to collect in the next day as well?
Slowly waxing. The moon waxes and wanes. It is a special case in English.
That moon is scientifically wrong ! Look at the scheme.
Not necessarily. I depends on where the sun is. All it means is that the sun is off to the left of the moon. Actually, if you look at the moon in its crescent phase regardless of whether it is waxing or waning, it is most often pointing downwards not left or right as the sun is usually below the horizon when you can see the crescent moon. What changes is when you can see the moon. Evening for waxing crescent. Early morning for waning moon (predawn). So that diagram is just as "wrong" as the DV depiction.

The longest I've kept my park open for doubles is 28 hours, so you can probably do this forever. Of course, you can't really use your device while you're doing this because you risk the app unloading in the background.
And the candy limit also remains doubled while you're doing this, so I'm 1000 ahead of what should be possible right now.

Greg, figure no 8 is followed by figure no 1. Which, in fact, was the moon we had until yesterday. This would mean, DV s moon is going backwards, which, in my solar system, is not correct. Where do you live ?

I didn't try it this time for a couple reasons:
1) When I did it during the Faire event "a spell went wonky in my park" and I lost all the tickets for that day and could only get some of them back (through non-diminishing methods and it was late in the day).
2) I use my iPad for other things and can only spare a couple hours for this at most and it's reeeeeally difficult to max out candies this time without visiting friends (which resets your park) or spending gems (which are severely depleted for me since my Omenous adventure).
I think I'm just giving up on pumpkins. My islands are so full of stuff and they load BEHIND things.
I started filling the "back" of my habitats etc with banners, basically filling up all the spots except for large swaths in the front of each island. This makes finding various walkers/pumpkins much easier so they don't hide behind items.
It is a lot of work to do, but then makes easier to quickly look for your earner figures.
You must be zoomed in enough to see the visitors walking around.
Oh ok... Thanks
Also, tap a path to make habs and dragons and decorations transparent. Those Smirky Pumpkins can be tapped through the obstacles without moving them, once you get back out of path mode!

I'm not good in Physics. So what has to be altered to get the situation of the DV moon ? - does the earth have to rotate the other way round (around itself ? - does the earth have to rotate the other way round around the sun ? Or - does the moon have to rotate the other way round around the earth ?
Lol
On another note : i still have hopes that Trick + Ortreat could give a clone of one of the two ( this way we could "spare" one dragon and do it in the coop) Any tries up to now ?

Observers in the southern hemisphere perceive the moon to be illuminated on the opposite side than observers in the northern hemisphere (but the moon is either waxing or waning for all earthly observers at the same time). You might be able to visualize this more readily with a little thought experiment: imagine the earth has no axial tilt and you are standing on the North Pole; now imagine walking around the globe to the South Pole. The horns of the moon will rotate as you travel until they point in the opposite direction. As GregDarcy has noted, we rarely perceive the horns to be pointing directly left or right as shown in that diagram in any case; this is because the earth does have an axial tilt and because we typically observe the moon from non-polar vantage points, so the horns will appear to be rotated according to how perpendicular you are with respect to the plane of the ecliptic.

Hydrogen is a colorless, odorless gas, which if left alone in large enough quantities, for long enough, will begin to think about itself.

I did exactly the same thing in my baby park. I there have only the landing island, one galaxy habitat, the epic breeding island, Kairos and the lost island, and the coop of course. Both lost island and landing island are fully covered, leaving only some pathes in the front. And what do the pumkins do ? Those nasty little beasts teleport in space : after a looooong search I found them between Kairos and the lost island and in the downpart of the coop island. I even found them in my main park at another space away from the islands ! Ts ts ts !

So no rotation change necessary, only have to switch to southern hemisphere. Thank you !

One question @mr. Bones: were those candies collected after the Event timed out still under the Max for the day?
