Interesting note on the Memory game. I had a half completed board from yesterday, when I ran out of tries. It did NOT reset today, and I have 10 tries to continue on the same board.
Don't throw away your notes from the prior day on what cards you've found!
It also means you're better off running memory games when you only have 1-2 tries, as you can continue it the next day.
Here's my game board today. Please let us know if yours matches.
No match. I'm pretty sure the only reason the first game matched for everybody is to ensure the tutorial would have a guaranteed first match (so no special code required other than the standard "tap here" logic). From then on we're pure RNG.

So, end-of-event-period strategy for the Matching game is to match all but the 100 until I've nearly reached maximum, enter last Arena challenge and then match the final cards. Will that work the same way as the final play of Name That Dragon?

Just kicking around the logic behind the match game...
There are 18 tiles total, 9 pairs. Each time you reveal tiles without making a match, it costs you a try; if you make a match, it costs you nothing.
So with the worst possible luck and no mistakes (a mistake being when you *should* know where a match is because you've seen it before but you tap the wrong tile anyway), you should be able to complete the board in 5 tries: even if the first four tries give you no matches, you've revealed 8 tiles, which is just shy of half the board. By the fifth try, one of those two tiles is a match to something you've seen before, so completing the board after that is easy and will cost you nothing (assuming you revealed it systematically and either took notes or remember everything).
So that's 160 roses for 5 tries. If you play again, however, you'll need at least a little luck to get through the board with your remaining tries, because expending the full five tries like you did the first time won't leave you any remaining attempts to match them up afterwards. However, we now know that the game continues the following day, so you could potentially save your notes, clear the board without expending any tries the next day, and still have a full ten tries to keep going.
Without attempting to factor in banking from making a large match just when you're about to hit the limit, it certainly seems like this is a better bet in the long run than the wheel.
Edit to add: And actually, you could consistently get 320 a day by this method by carrying over your notes from day to day. Play one round in 5 tries, reveal the board in the remaining tries; the next day, clear yesterday's game for 160 and no tries, expend 5 tries to play a new round and get another 160, spend your final tries revealing the board, then clear it tomorrow - rinse and repeat. Basically, each day you're finishing yesterday's round, playing a complete round, and setting up tomorrow's round for a total of 320 daily,

Since the update for the event, DV prompts me every time about which park I want to use - GC or local. I've logged in and out of GC, rebooted my phone (5S), forced DV closed, and done everything else known to man to make it stop asking me. I've never created a local park on my phone. It didn't do this pre-update. Is this a new thing and I just need to quit being Type A about it? Or should I notify BFS?
And wouldn't you know it...start a new event with a nursery full of time hogs: couple of suns, an Oly and a Mono 3 or 4. :/ Way to clog it up...gonna be spending those gems, I guess!
I would get it fixed, and not ignore it. I'd be worried myself that someday I'd accidentally click local park and it would overwrite the GC one with something new. I've only seen this myself rarely when switching GC accounts on the same device and logging into DV to send gems. Sometimes it'll get confused with the prior park and ask that question. I assume when you said you tried everything, that you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it? Your park is safe on GC, especially if you've been picking GC park in that questions and getting the correct one.
I've been having this same problem since half way through the previous event. I contacted Backflip Support, but didn't hear a squeak from them. I thought they'd eventually get around to it as someone else posted the same problem. Then I thought it may come right with the latest IOS update - but it hasn't.
I'll contact support again, as it is very annoying. Sometimes it pops up a second time when I'm already into my park!
