So I'm not the only one. Whatever happened to (and I quote) "You can still collect Magic Eggs from your gifts, but the daily maximum still applies."
Me too... So annoyed. Can't do anything until that bug is fixed. I have 9680 eggs sitting there, as I need my banked eggs to get the Swallowtail dragon. I have a ton sitting in my social menu.

Hello all. Admins, please remove my name from the co op breeding accepting friends list. I will be deleting DragonVale at the end of this current egg event. Would love to continue, but DV and Hasbro have got to figure out how to remove bloat and old game data so that the game doesn't lag, crash, or hang. Other major game developers have managed to do this, it is silly that DV developers cannot do the same. It has been fun, I have enjoyed "meeting" many of you. Wow, another member leaving the game, sorry to see you go. Hoping BFS does get this fixed soon as we are losing way to many wonderful members to device frustration and constant events.

BFS is in the wrong here, so I believe they will come through and allow you to receive your extra eggs from your Social menu! Just hang in there for now; we're all anticipating a fix.

I had the exact same thought, but my guess is that if they allow us to collect 7000, players would just demand they let us collect all the eggs in our Social menu.
But seeing that no one can collect any eggs right now, it looks like BFS might want to reconsider that 1000-eggs-per-day limit...

That's a good question. I have no idea how someone could bank that much. I'm curious to how.
I banked 2899 -- some days did over 100 (or 200) with dragon drop -- and then had 275 in uncollected gifts from friends (from yesterday/this morning). So a total of 3174 banked.

No, friends gifts do not get replaced/deleted. I did not collect them at all during the event, so I have 3 friends that gift gems and treats and have 1600 a piece 'banked" and 4 friends that gifted gems and they each have 800 banked. that s a total of 8000 right there. you can also bank the last turn of the game ( I do the guess the egg game)- that's 18 or 19 each day, then the last stadium turn's 100.

If you didn't collect gems from friends until after you had maxed out, the eggs attached to them were also banked.
That could mean an extra 150 to 250 a day, depending on how many gifts you receive. If you did that, it was fairly easy to bank 7,000.

First of all, don't collect any gifts without first hitting your cap and collect only when you've hit your cap. The gift eggs accumulate in the bank.
Secondly, never finish all your turns at the Stadium. Finish 4 turns and save one for when you've hit your cap. Collect that only when you've hit your cap. That goes to the bank (BFS account).
Thirdly (and this was something new to me), don't consume all the turns at the in-house games. Save the last one to hedge your last few points.
I almost doubled the 7000 cap this time around (sigh, just when I had the formula)

Great post HenryBlue - nominating for POTM - thought about what the wording would be if this was sung to Adele's version of Hello - got a mix of both songs stuck in my brain right now so it's pretty messy (kind of like how this event has ended). Think BFS will make it right very soon and looking forward to spending the saved eggs this week. Cheers to all!
We would have too, or come close anyway. But knowing there would be a 7k limit at the end of the event once there was around 6k banked we'd just max the day with banked eggs and not fret too much about capping It actually made this event a little more calm, but more eggs to use for purchases would have been nicer.
