So when pulling my $1,000/day banked eggs, should I first take from eggs banked from friends' gifts, or the BFS banked eggs first...or does it not matter?

There's a glitch at the moment preventing one from taking any banked eggs. Fingers crossed BFS fixes this fast.

Wow, a whole song - that's impressive! I usually get stuck with one or two lines of a modified song repeating over and over in a loop while I'm searching for eggs. During this event, the muzak demons invaded my head with: "This is the dawning of the egg of Burcadia, egg of Burcadia, BURCADIAH-H! BURCADIAH-H-H!" Where is an exorcist when you need one.

This is the first event in a loooong time where I've been able to breed event dragons : I got lucky but I also hit on the correct strategy (for a change).
I did nonstop breeding in CBC from day 1 (my Serenity + Chrysalis for a week, then my Ire + Swallowtail (300 gem speed ups over all CBC breeding )), and EBI (Ire + Duskwing from Day 7), and about half the time in the Cave (once I'd bred a 3rd chrysalis dragon). I used about 400 gems over the course of the event for speed up. I bought a Duskwing on Day 7 but that was the only chrysalis dragon I bought. Once I bred a Swallowtail I blue-hearted it but used other dragons in the CBC, to try and maximise my use of chrysalis dragons in all 3 breeding spots.
Being in a happy place with eggs, I am buying a heap of the Shell Of Surprise, to make a little Easter Island patch.
EDIT: I forgot, I bought 1500 eggs on day 3 (costing $8.00). Seemed expensive at the time. I always buy some event currency (usually $3.00 worth) to hedge against the unforeseen.

BFS has fixed the glitch. We can now collect 1,000 eggs from our banked eggs for the daily max, and BFS has added 1,000 eggs to our totals for the trouble.

When I clicked "collect" on friends in my social menu, eggs were taken from each friend. Not all of the eggs, but I noticed the number change and figured they were going into my banked total. Nope, when I was done collecting I checked my banked total and it was the same as when I started. Did this happen to anyone else?
what does giving us 1000 eggs do if we can't collect our 1000? Give us 1000 treats? BFS is unreal! Just give us all of our eggs and call it a day!

Did you get a message about their error and them giving us an extra 1000 eggs today? If not, try reloading your game and trying again. I got the message and had no trouble deducting 1000 from the bank.

Glitches with a universally applied compensation, I can live with. Changing rules midcourse is what will send me into a tizzy. For instance, if they decide to allow all banked eggs instead of the 1000 × 7 advertised limit, I'll be upset. Why? Because I stopped banking when I hit the limit. Instead I went ahead and borrowed from my bank to max out on a few days when real life prevented me from logging on multiple times to gather through normal methods. So, I have my 7000 but no more.

Buy one of the last two dragons, plus either the theme, gemstone habitat, or a habitat (mono or 2nd chrysalis)... or buy Mono 6, theme, gem habitat AND mono habitat.

That I like, it means I can get all the event rewards. I will be able to buy Lacewing in 2 days, and then pick up the remaining 3 decorations after that.
And I should still finish the event with 24,000 eggs banked
That food should help me with my goal of Level 20'ing one of each elemental dragons. 10 elders and 109 hybrids done, 41 to go. Hopefully the food for eggs trade will get another ~28 of them done

Curious, has anyone actually been able to breed a Monolith 6? I've gotten a DR and 2 Rainbows trying for it. It's laughable.
