Anybody else only get 4 chances in the competition ring? I don't think I miscounted, but I'm not sure. I haven't reached my egg limit yet. Normally, I'm able to bank the last one.

Are you sure it's not just Kairos messing up your timekeeping? I did 5 rounds in both my parks.
Oh. My. Gosh. This is going to get soooooo annoying. For events I typically wait until I'm all maxed out before collecting my friends' gifts, but send them out whenever. I have a lot of friends on Game Center so despite not currently having any twins in my social menu, it crashes the game whenever I leave it open for more than 10-15 seconds (the game did that even before the event, with no twins as well). That in and of itself was not too much of a problem, as I simply collected a few gifts at a time then closed the menu, repeat. But this event, after you reach your daily limit, EVERY time you try to collect a gift from a friend, a pop up appears saying you have reached your daily limit. Since my social menu cannot be open for too long, I have to collect a gift, close the pop up, close the social menu, and repeat. Previously I had been able to power through and collect 3-6 gifts and then close the menu. This is going to get so cumbersome. I don't imagine that they will change this mid-event but they've never done this horrible pop up for every friend gift thing before.
I have a few questions from a newbie who doesn't have a monolith or a chrysalis dragon... can I breed any of the dragons listed as prizes or do I need to get a couple as prizes to get started? I checked the sandbox, and it doesn't look like you can breed the monolith's unless you have a monolith? Or is it not updated yet and other combos will currently work? Can co-op work if someone else has one? Do I just need to be patient for the sandbox to update and stop asking silly questions? And am I correct in assuming that if you breed one it counts toward the ones you need to unlock the next level of prizes?
Also, what if I buy the monolith habitat for dragon cash in the market? Does that count towards unlocking the next level?
My wish list is so long now!!! I'm trying to have patience... I just saw I already have enough eggs for a pedestal... Should I be patient or give in to my must have it now? Maybe I'll look at the spreadsheet and try to be responsible and plan or something...
Hi Beth I have all the monolith dragons so you buy the monolith 5 dragon with your eggs. As we are friends already I will put up another one in my coop so you can breed off that...hopefully you should get another one. I will watch out for when you get it when I visit your park and as soon as I see it I will put one in my coop.
Sakura - Thanks! I will definitely be interested! First I'll probably try to get the chrysalis dragons just to start breeding them and hopefully unlock prizes, but I'll definitely be looking at monoliths after that.

I admit the tiered gift levels are highly annoying. Let us choose. Or make something a special limited offer if you want, but don't force us to buy something we don't want/need. It's annoying.
I quite like the tiers, actually. It gives me guidance at what to work towards. Disclaimer: I already had 7 of the items, so the Tiers are not too onerous for me.
If they are going to use a tiered rewards system, the main thing I don't want them to ever do again is put any the prizes in the lower tiers on expiration timers. Hated that.
To whoever it was that said BFS has gone back to the old way of doing rewards with the events - they haven't. The old way of doing things was by pure linear progression. You got this item, and then you got the next item, and then the next, and the next, etc. Remember when we had to get two (identical) Midnight dragons in a row, before we could get the final "grand" prize of the Starfall event?
I'm tired of the game crashing because someone has logged into my account and the game has to restart (that's the message). Nobody has access to my account but me, the game is ONLY on my tablet, so it can't be simultaneously somewhere else. Has anyone had this issue? backt to the game. Is today limit 1500 and not more?
So I maxed out my eggs in my iOS park, but my smaller android park is stuck at 1379. I'm maxed out at the stadium, I did pretty well at the egg drop, found the golden egg, but I'm no longer getting eggs for clearing cash from habitats or growing food. All I can think of to try to get to the 1550 is to use gems to speed up an egg, as I have four incubating and none of them will be done in the next two hours. Of course, I don't want to spend gems to get eggs, especially since it would only be 20 eggs(I think?)so I'm not sure that's a great trade. Any other ideas for maxing out? Am I missing something? I think I just got too many "50" eggs at the stadium, and that's why I'm low. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Each dragon needs the dragon on either side of it as its breeding pair. Every dragon is a parent or child of the two adjacent dragons, and is not related to the two dragons on the other side of the circle.
REMAINING QUESTIONS:
Which Chrysalis dragon(s) must be purchased to successfully breed all 5 types?
Any helpful tips as when to purchase one if you're having no success so you don't miss out on breeding for others, etc?
Anyone noticed if levels of dragons have made a difference with certain sets (I've gotten hung up here before, learning late - think galaxies - that the breeding pair had higher chances if below a certain level).?
Other EGG-CITING HINTS & TIPS:
Golden Egg: Crafty thing. Does NOT remain stationery & can sometimes be found mid-air between islands!

Regarding unlocking, you only need to obtain (by purchase or successful breeding) the requisite NUMBER of designated items to unlock each successive tier. You don't need to obtain every item in each tier. So for example, if Tier 2 (Iridescent) shows up as 0/4, then you need to obtain at least 4 items from Tier 1 (Silken) in order to unlock Tier 2. Those items will also be credited toward unlocking Tier 3 (Opalescent), but that requires 10 total items, from Tiers 1 and 2. Those items likewise will be credited toward unlocking Tier 4 (Gossamer), but that requires 14 total items, from Tiers 1, 2, and 3.
Regarding the monolith habitats, the one you purchased is certainly of use to you for placement of any of your Monolith dragons. It just isn't the "event" monolith habitat, which some of us have from last year, or can be now purchased in this event. Only the event habitat will count as an item toward unlocking the higher level tiers of the event rewards. The event habitat has a slightly different/unique look to it as well. But you may want to consider just using the one you purchased for housing your monolith dragons, and purchasing some of the less expensive items (e.g. pedestals or decorations) as your items to unlock the higher tiers of the event rewards. Just a suggestion, since we have limited eggs to collect over the course of this event.

That would be a good idea to leave your monoliths till after the event! If I get a chrysalis I will put it up in my coop so look out for it! Have fun! ?

You need to clone or buy Chrysalis, Duskwing and Marbletail to be able to breed the last 2. Marbletail is the last day 'gift', but these are limited dragons and BFS may not give enough time to breed the remaining 2. So my plan is to try and clone Marbletail earlier, buy Chrysalis (as its the cheapest) then fingers crossed try to clone Duskwing or any of the others in the coop and breed Marbletail and Chrysalis in the EBC.
