I'm wondering which house to join. I have a couple of questions …

1. Has anyone set up any sort of forum rivalry using the houses? And if not, would we like too?
2. Do the available prizes at each house matter that much?

1) Not really... I set up a poll for which house people joined, but no house rivalries...
2) If you want them I guess they do... but otherwise not too much

I can confirm that blazing gale + blazing gale will result the following: Blazing Gale, blazing, inferno, smoke and firework as I have received them all. Breeding BG + BG to get the pedestal is proving difficult. It was easy with the IB + Thorn.

What are the "pylons of...", are they just decorations or do they Do something?

Weather station, goodys treaters, magical greenhouse, just pretty or useful?

Twilight tower, just like the one for sale in market?

Opened my second park and it came up with an error. ON another park I tried and it did it twice - it says that the pentournament is shut, then it gets rid of the island. the n it asks you to complete the tutorial, which is impossible without theisland. Just close and reload the game, works everytime...
Gemming through loads of combos to test them:
None work other than thorn + IB, that i can see...

Pylons = Decos

Weather Station and Twilight Tower, changes the weather and background.

Goody Treatery, lets you gift food to 3 friends

Magical Greenhouse, gives you 200k food once a day.

I'd go the Treatery, the Greenhouse, Twilight Tower, Weather Station and then the decos, but I have the first four anyway.

I'd say as long as the Iron Blossom x Thorn trick works, it doesn't make much sense to go for Iron Blossom house if you don't have a preference, because it's the one dragon so far that is easy to breed. For prizes, all the houses are even for someone who has played a long time and kept up with the events. Then it's just a matter of which dragon do you like the best and want to have first!

I just tried thorn and iron blossom and got a mine and a 48 hour. I think they fixed the thorn glitch.

I'm happy they did… I'll be pretty busy this summer and I didn't want to spend all my free time grinding for the game. This way is much more enjoyable!

Well, here's another useful trick.... I put 5 dragons into the parade arena before I hit max last night, hoping to bank whatever they earned this morning.  It won't let you bank the rings, but I do have a 60 ring head start after the reset!
