You know, I really thought that a fifth limited dragon would have been released before the end of the event....do you think that it is safe to start spending rings now? *Paranoid*
Well dang it (insert sting of bad words here). I thought that with the end date being September 6th - that it would end at reset today. So I just signed on for the first time today, and am now seriously behind on getting those daily rings.
Worst of all - mentally I went through the last day process yesterday. You know ... this is the last time I have to put dragons up in the arcade challenge ... this is the last time I have to breed blushrooms for a while ... this is the last time I have to monitor how many rings I have before I collect dragoncash ... the last time I have to log on in the morning so that I can get those arcade challenges going ...
I had sent my dragons home from the parade, cleared off the last of the rocks/trees from my new islands and set most of my farms to grow dragon fruit. Alas, I'm happy because just 1000 more rings makes a difference, but mentally it's anticlimactic, and I've checked out. I suppose I could just use some of those excess banked rings, but I worked so hard to get them that it seems a shame to use them now. Fortunately Kairos is still available for me so I'll speed up time which should help me catch up a little.
But I was a great event, it's just that I'm ready for it to end.

In my attempt to get 2+1 (2 dragons + 1 egg pedestal) of each the 14 event dragons, I have been fairly successful at my breeding program and have at least 1 of every dragon in each park.
Pk3 is missing an egg for Mountain Sun, Thunderbolt, and Fates - Fates egg is cooking in the nursery. 1 dragon missing for Hidden Bolt, Icy Torrent, Mountain Sun, and Thunderbolt. Have purchased most of the buildings and have +46K rings to spend on decorations and missing dragons from prior events.
PK2 is missing 1+1 for Blazing Gale and Valor. Valor has two eggs cooking in the nursery. Have all the buildings, and +36K to spend on decorations and missing dragons from prior events.
109 is missing 1+1 for Blazing Gale and Valor. Blazing Gale has twin cooking in the nursery. Have all the buildings, and +35K to spend on decorations and missing dragons from prior events.
This has been a long event, but I have no complaints. It has been easier to play with out giving up life in RW. My breeding success rate has been good enough that I will continue breeding to the end, and only make final dragon purchases on September 13th. None of which will be dragons from this event as they have all been easier than the Aura, Chrysalis, and Ornamentals were...... Or maybe I was working too hard during those events and did not have time to spare for DV.
So I bought the treaters last night, and was able to give 3treats away, then this morning ing 3 more were available....BUT I can't gift the same people??? When do treats reset? Should I just randomly treat 3 people now or wait to see if I wait 24 hours of can gift the same people again....
It resets at the same time as the gems. I believe the treatery gives off smoke when there are treats available to give.
Now that the last moments of the event are upon us, what shall we see afterward? in the waning days of the ninth month and shortly thereafter, I predict we will see a bit of fun before All Hallow's Eve. By the pricking of my thumbs, something exciting this way comes...
Ok sbf, I have a couple of questions, more to gauge your thoughts and observations.
When you were at BFS, they were ready to launch this event and you were lucky enough to preview the event, as well as to see and hear the developers thoughts and future ideas.
How do you think the event played out versus BFS thoughts and hopes for it? How did the event play out for you, in contrast as to how you thought it would? Did you like the house concept? Do you think it will continue for future events, maybe 3 houses instead of 5 for Halloween or Christmas? Did you think there was enough new content to satisfy more veteran players? I guess it's more of 'now you can talk about it, so what do you want to say'
Last question, have BFS asked for more feedback from the Fan Faire participants since you returned home?
it went very similarly to how the preview was, though the fellow winners and I expected 5 total limited dragons by the end, even though that was not explicitly mentioned. 3 or 5 made sense, to me 4 doesn't as much but it could be that people were overwhelmed by ~15 new dragons so maybe they delayed/scraped one. I don't know. I think there was some confusion about breeding the dragons which was unexpected (we certainly weren't able to test Iron Blossom and Thorn at that time) but all in all, the mechanics are pretty much the same as past event, except for the inclusion of the House part, which was my favorite element of the pentournament. Interestingly, Trimera was supposed to come before Fates. But all three "Triptych" dragons are a triad to celebrate 300 dragons, in my opinion. I only see the House concept continuing in the summer (longer) events, but certainly the characters and themes will return. Whitbee and Ardendella/Ma Goody have more spells and tricks up their sleeves coming soon. As far as new content, I was able to get every prize so I'm happy with this event, the main amazing prizes for me were the Monument of the Epics and the second Lost Island. It had a wonderful variety of dark/light hearted dragons this round (whereas I felt the Valentine's Day event was naturally more whimsical). The one part I didn't quite like was having to use someone else's dragon with yours in the Arena (only due to the social menu/friend list crashing I experience when playing on my phone, a minor inconvenience), but getting/giving rings in return balances it out. BFS and I/the group have indeed been in communication since, albeit limited because they are fairly busy. I hope everyone got a chance to see one of the winners, Janna, post on their Facebook page creating arts and crafts with BFS. She's very talented. We've mentioned a few things in terms of suggestions/improvements/where the game may go from here, but that's a conversation for another time. It was a fun event, but long. I'm naturally looking forward to October, as Halloween is my favorite holiday. And the really cool surprises. Two big things are coming. Wish I could say more, it's gonna be gr8.
I'm really happy about this event, too. I'm pretty sure that I can get all the prizes without touching my banked rings - which is currently just under 19,000.
Is there any reason to get duplicate prizes (if allowed) and not just leave the rings to turn into treats?
Personally, I like having two sets of flags as decorations. They look spiffy on either side of a path leading to an Olympus Habitat.
I am also going to get a second of the Light and Dark Pylons. I love the animation for each one. I want to do an Olympus Island and have one each of the Pylons there to remember the Event, but I also think a Light and Dark Pylon would add to the theme of my Light Island and Dark Island. Hopefully they won't become the avocado green refrigerator, orange shag carpeting, or foil wallpaper of my park.😱
Does anyone have an extra park and be willing to blue heart a nether? It's the only dragon I don't have and it's driving me cray cray lol I'm happy to blue heart any dragon in return.
I am afraid that the Nether Dragon is not an epic, so at the moment it can only be bred via like X like.
Or use a wish. I'm considering usiong my wish for it.

I did the same thing.
But I decided I'm happy. Who cares if I don't get every last ring I could have gotten.

Hey SBF, thanks for you insight. I agree, it was nice to see a mix of cute and not so cartoony dragons, sometimes the the whimsy can be a tad bit sickly sweet. I joined DV during the Frostival and I am so looking forward to the Halloween event. Strangely I was able to get some of the Halloween event draggies during BEB, hopefully this will give me a start.

Starting to get that twitch from such a long event... We will all be glad when it finally ends... For a week at least. Then we will get bored and miss the addiction of the event and start twitching in anticipation of the next one to come.
Such an unending cycle we dragon lovers must endure

I was quite surprised by the number 4 - if it was intentional it was lost on me. 3x3 (3 headed / 3 hundred) or 5 (5 houses) total makes sense, it's almost as if something happened. The ONLY thing that seems to make it somewhat recognizable is that the Dawnbringer dragon has 2 skins / modes, making it possible that they counted it as 2 dragons. *shrug*
It's all good, very VERY enjoyable event - ranks up there with the best. A first time just scores higher, but BFS totally outdid themselves this time around!

I'm really happy with this event, and was able to get everything I wanted. I was actually thinking earlier in the event "oh I'll just buy some rings as a thank you to BF at the end" but turns out I don't need them, so debating on whether to wait and buy gems next sale, or wait for the Halloween event, or just buy some anyway and get another dragon or something. Thing is, I'm pretty sure I said the exact same thing the last two events and ended up not buying any because I didn't need anything by the end, and didn't really want to buy a bunch of tokens just to get turned into a ton of extra treats. BF, I'm sorry, I don't think this is what you had in mind! But maybe I'll just wait for Halloween....
Edit: Hey! Looks like 5 new dragons announced on BF's FB page! Golden Hybrids maybe? Hope you guys didn't start to enjoy your sparkling Dragonarium too much yet!

Is there any reason to get duplicate prizes (if allowed) and not just leave the rings to turn into treats?
It's easier and faster to grow treats than to breed elusive epics with long fails?
Even with what I can buy in terms of doubles, I've got enough cloning homework for the next few months.
On the flipside, you're paying a lot of treats for that convenience if you have a level 80 park. Buying a Stygian costs 7775 rings, which would be 13,831,803 treats if converted, or about 692 million DC's worth.
Some pricey dragons if you think about it!
I actually only did the math just now for this post, and I just convinced myself not to buy doubles.

My herald was a busy dragon these last few weeks. TONS of notifications about twins. Tonight's notification that sweetnjmom 's "little man" got a twin Herald was by far the happiest for me A great ending to a very enjoyable event for my family!
My son (now age 7) was thrilled -- he didn't max out and didn't get every prize, but thanks to you he's getting a Herald (he chose a Valor for the day 60 reward).
I'm glad the event was enjoyable for you and your family. Same here.
My "little man" was most excited to be able to get the Twilight Tower and Weather Station -- to him more important than dragons.

I've decided to use my rings to get a 3rd Omnitat -- still debating on whether or not to get a 2nd Olympus reward habitat. If I get one, I'd probably sell my small one -- not really sure how they'll fit on my islands. That reward habitat is large!

I'm so sad! I thought we had till the 14th till it ended abd didn't claim my free dragons from the gifts and now they are gone... I'm literally sick to my stomach. 😳

Holy cow... er, dragons! I think you just convinced me not to buy doubles either. After I buy everything I'm missing, I'll end up with 63.5K rings left over... That has the potential to be a -lot- of treats.
