This has been another great stress-free event for me, granted, I didn't have to get any of the old dragons, but I was able to play enough AND be sociable at a RL family event and get enough candy for all the dragons plus a few perks, habitat, path, and theme. I hope this is the new trend in events, it will make holidays so much nicer.
Koalas for those still trying to breed Nightbloom and the others! Glad to see the time-tested whine has been working for some.

I do have 11k candy in hand and 20k banked, and only the Theme, Habitat, Lantern, Path and Well (6740 candy) to get, so I'll buy Nightbloom if I don't get it in the next 2 days.
Do an Elvis - WHAI-AI-AI-INE! (Which is what I'm now officially doing). Because we sure could use the extra Candy

To all those who need it, I hope tomorrow is a great one for you to get the Nightbloom. I have such a rotten time breeding, I bought it the second I logged into the game on Friday. I knew better than to try to breed for it.

Seriously, what does it take to breed one of these - has anyone done it during this event?
It has to be bred at night... actually, I just thought of something.
The sky is forced to night for everyone during this event, which means that people with the Twilight Tower can breed Nosferatu around the clock. But people without it - probably not, right?
Otherwise, it would prohibit them from breeding Sun Dragons during the entire event, since they can't control it.

What I would have preferred: the little Olympus island from the last event (which barely fits even one giant Olympus habitat) was actually an island theme, while the Eerie theme was actually that little island. I've got plenty of Olympus habitats to fit an entire island, and would love to theme it. Instead, I'm stuck with a tiny Olympus island that doesn't even fit half my Olympus dragons omuch less decorations, so now its filled with random habitats that don't match. And then there's this giant Eerie theme when I've already got a fully decorated Halloween island. So while I do like the theme, the island is empty; there's nothing to fill it with unless I take pieces from the Halloween island which I'm not willing to do.
I wish there was a bit more logic behind some of these decisions... It doesn't make sense that the Olympus island doesn't fit everything while we get two different Halloween themes. Same with the Chrysalis theme... it's beautiful! But I've got two Chrysalis habitats and a small amount of decorations to fit it. Even sticking the Aura habs and decorations on it didn't fill it, and I don't have enough islands or space to have islands with hardly anything on them. So:
A: Need more islands. B: Need enough islands to fit ALL THE THEMES! C: I want to be able to switch out the themes on the little islands too, so I can have a full-sized Olympus-themed island and could do a smaller Chrysalis or Eerie island or something like that. D: Switching whole islands in the space would be an awesome help too. My fire island is in between the two Halloween ones, but switching everything between the two islands is too much of a hassle to bother with.
Us Valers: Never happy, apparently! I feel like I should apologize for that lol.

With the free Thicket dragon, I collected all the four new dragons available at my level. I am trying hard now to save for a Lycan or Omen (or both?) before time runs out. As far as first events go, this one was pretty dang awesome.
I am so happy with this event. It was my first full event! I started playing DV more than halfway during the Pentournament. Fortunately during that event I bought a sppoky habitat and the spooky theme (and something else I can't remember) which allowed me to have my second prize tier almost unlocked. Much better than my start with the pentournament, lol. I also did not understand about banking until the last couple of days during that event. Sad but true, lol.
I have had some koala in that I was able to breed all the event dragons that could be bred this time. I also have banked about 12,000 candies with my new knowledge of banking. 😂 So, the Omen dragon is the last dragon I need and should be able to get that tomorrow or Wednesday. After that, I just want the eerie theme, then will get the any of the pedestals that I have time for with the daily max I can draw from my bank each day. I figure I should have at least 5,500 candies left at the end to be converted to treats...much better than the 93 I had left at the end of the pentournament. 😂😂
Now, if I could just get some of that koala for the sanguinite...have now got two breeding spots going with that.

Well, I might as well join the whine party. I'll bringing some great cheese and even some jasmine tea (since jasmine flowers typically bloom at night as well) because I haven't been able to get my Nightbloom yet. There's still time, I technically can buy it if I don't get it before it expires, and my secondary account got one so I could always breed with that one in the CBC. But it'd be nice to get one before it expires. Wish me luck, oh wizards of the whine!
How does Overgrown Path work? If you buy it, you'll be able to use it in the park all the time in unlimited quantities? Any ideas?
