Yes you are correct, I noticed this on past events and now when a new event starts I go through all my parks start the event (stick a dragon in each of the event arenas) and then go back to the first park to give out gifts later.

Nevermind. I found it. I had the reduced time clicked. Doh!
Just checked the Sandbox and requested combos for Hypnotic. The combo of Wind/Wind has a smaller chance of getting Hypnotic, so I'm going with that one next!
Maybe it should be a Mesmer of Hypnotics
Further research reveals cold/air + light gives a chance for all three with only about a 10% chance of Hypnotic on the island (9 poss fails)

Speaking of event gifts....I think I discovered something that I should have realized and is probably well known to everyone except me, lol. Normally just after reset I open my main park and get that all set up, send out gifts, etc., then I open my baby park and its subsidiaries and get those straightened out and send my main park a gift. Yesterday I decided to start with the baby park.
When I opened my main park, I had a gift from the baby, but it did not contain event currency. Strange as it always has had event currency before. Spent all day trying to figure out what might be wrong. Reset ipad, cleared cache...blah, blah, blah.
Sitting here with my coffee this morning, it dawned on me that since I had not started the event in my main park, that could be why it did not receive event currency. DOH! 😂
Am I on the right track, lol?
So, GC friends, if my theory is correct, I apologize that in past events that first gift of the event has probably not contained event currency. From now on I will send gifts out later in the day.
I don't have a baby park but we have a family of four playing and when I checked after we had all started the 2 parks that we started right at the park reset according to our clocks only gave out flowers with 2 of the four gifts they give out. I have my own park and then manage my husbands. I started in his park and the first 2 gifts I gave out did not contain flowers the second 2 did.
Sooooo if that is as clear as mud !? My theory is we started to close to the park reset time by our clocks and somehow straddled the reset time. Hmmmm now that I see it written that doesn't make sense since then there shouldn't have been any event stuff there yet aarrrgggg. Toooo confusing.
Well we are going to wait today and start our parks about 10 - 15 minutes into reset to see if that makes a difference. I was bummed yesterday because we have a closed family group for gifts and with IOS not allowing the addition of new friends I only got 1 out of 4 gift of flowers. I am the most avid player (obsessed actually) and I want EVERYTHING!!!!!!
Maybe it was a glitch for just the first day. I hope so anyway.

So yesterday in 3 of the 4 family parks I was giving and receiving 100 roses as gifts and today on the double weekend I'm giving and receiving 150 roses. I am not a math genious but I'm pretty sure 100 x 2 equals 200 not 150. I'm hoping I'm not the only one wth this problem. Especially after the missing roses from yesterday. The last few events went without a problem giving and receiving gifts and now this event were off to a horrible start.

I didn't see this mentioned, so I'll put it here now: PSA For all of you max bankers out there, I suggest upgrading the Aura habitats during doubles weekend. Do one at the end of the run today (so get to 1996 roses and then upgrade). That will bank a nice 296 roses for the gems spent just on the first upgrade (150 gems during doubles = 300 roses for the upgraded habitat). Then do the second one tomorrow for the same 296 banked roses. (And of course, after topping out you should finish your dragon pair thingie as well for another 200 roses).

Hmm, I'm not sure gem expenditure roses get banked. I vaguely remember trying this in an event a couple years ago and only getting currency up to the max (like when you hatch a dragon near max you only get partial credit).

I know stoneheart is an epic but the other 3 are specials and yet the reports are including successful breedings in the coop as well with friends who already have a new special (cuddlewing was the dragon)

I appreciate that the wizards have fixed the cooperative challenge to where even if you aren't logged in to Game Center (or you are but it glitches like me at least once a day), that person still gets the bonus roses if you win. Before, I always felt bad when I ended a challenge and won, but didn't realize GC had glitched out, so my partner didn't get anything.

Found some info on the DV guide app. that someone had posted stating they contacted BFS directly and they replied that while the event dragons do show up in the breeding hints, they are currently NOT able to be bred and must be purchased from the tournament. This is sited in the DV guide app. under the rosegold dragon comments if you wish to view it yourselves. I tried to put in the pic of the comment but through an iPad trying to add an attachment, this site stated that it has reached its max size. If someone can put the pic up so everyone can see that would be helpful. Mind you that there have been others that said they have been successful, I have not seen anything on maceinstein nor the app. for proof. Hope this helps everyone!😊

That's what I think that it's misinformation. I asked here because I know I can trust to get true answers not someone thinking it is funny to misinform and then laugh at the frustrated breeding that others do based on that information.
Also I wondered if it just might be a breeding glitch like the iron blossom one from last summer.

Gardenia made her second visit to my park when I checked just now (1:15 am, BFS time). She may have come earlier?
You'd think, since the last Event was so recent, I'd remember to hatch dragons before collecting from habitats when I get towards the max
