I'm assuming those of you who received Pond already had all of the other dragons? I'm missing several, after taking a year off. I got a Cuddlewing, which makes me extremely happy because I didn't already have it, and I love the chrysalis habitat dragons! I also finally managed to breed a Lacewing in the co-op cave, so it was a good day for me!

I give gems randomly to those who seem to need them because I'm not organized enough to keep a list, but I'm always looking for more Party Hat friends!
My son bought the mystery egg and he got Leathery which he didn't have.
It seems from online chatter that people ARE getting eggs they don't have if you are missing dragons. I may be willing to risk it a bit later after I get my main items I need/want from the event prizes. The Lost Island is my most wanted prize.
We have a total of four games in our household. One got Pond first try. One got Pond this morning around the third try.

Not sure I'm willing to risk the mystery egg... if I save over doubles weekend I can buy it, but not if I risk the egg. Then again, if I do and get Pond, I save 5000 eggies...
What to do what to do? I never was a good gambler... if it gives one u don't have as the odds sounds, I still don't have too many to have great odds at Pond.

From what I've seen the only ones who get the Pond dragon already have every other dragon except this current event's dragon. I am only missing 13 dragons in total and I didn't get the Pond. Although I am happy to get the Pyrite since it was one of the missing 13.
I would assume that if you are missing any dragons other than this events you won't get the Pond dragon. Just based on the anecdotal evidence.

With the demise of game centre I just started in FB to be able to friend people from this forum and join in on the fun. Please message me if you want to send a friend request so I know to watch for you😊, I never check FB otherwise. I'm deleting random requests way too many of those 😮.

Wish that had worked for me! I have 2 of every other dragon except the current event's dragons, and I unfortunately got Sprout from the mystery egg. Already had 2 Sprouts and the pedestal, so no joy for me.
At least I was able to breed a Pond with Mono1 + Lichen, so I will hopefully get over the waste of 1795 eggs.

Oh oh!!!😕 My thought on your situation is that Backflip found out and added Pond to the "Blacklist" as Dr. Bones called it. This isn't based on knowledge just something I was thinking would happen as I read all the successful Pond breedings. Kind of a "Big Backflip is watching" mentality I know but I can't help it after the other park nerf's we've seen them do to fix wonderful player found glitch/exploits. 🙁😉

I want to a risk to buy the Mystery Egg... But, I'm got the notification that can still get an egg I already have. Should I bother to buy it and hope for Pond? Oh snap, it's patched now?? Darn.

I've been thinking that the mystery egg might function like the gift eggs we've gotten from the event "advent calendar" giveaways and now the daily login eggs, and so far people's results seem to bear that out. Basically, it checks to see if you're missing something and draws from those options if you are, otherwise it gives you something random. The main difference this time is that all the other gift eggs have been constrained by type: they're either hybrid OR epic OR gemstone OR galaxy. This time it could be anything. I think it's further proof they know that a yearly Bring-'Em-Back event as a way of getting caught up is breaking down due to the sheer number of outcomes these days.
Unfortunately, for those who are only looking for twins or pedestals, it doesn't check against what you have, so that really is random. If there's something you don't have at all, though, especially if it's something like Pyrite that just finished up, or something like Dusk that can only be bred at certain times of day, it can be a really good deal...
Thank you everyone who posted your success with the Egg of Mystery. Trying to breed in both Cave and Island for Pond kept having me sucked into the Quicksand and giving me rivers of Rivers. So looking at buying it for 6345 eggs, missing out (not an option!), or taking a 1795 egg chance on getting it I decided to take a chance. Success... Pond is mine! Temporarily sharing in the Co-Op Cave then will go back to sharing Starwing.

Seriously though, I really want the Pond dragon. He is so cute and he reminds me of the little plush dragon sitting on my bookshelf. My first breeding attempt was a fail. Got a 22 hour timer which isn't what you want to see when a limited dragon pops up. I might have to buy this one so I don't miss it.

What?!!!!! I never noticed that. How could I not notice that?!? Oh nooooo! I can't risk more eggs! My naturally pessimistic outlook says that first time is a teaser getting one you don't have. Then it's a flood of duplicates to use up your eggs getting the unfortunate player to buy and spend real money!!!!!
I would love to hear from those who risk a second buy.
