AAAH! I did it!!! Chromacorn is Mine!!! I was just checking this thread while glumly running through today's repetitions of breedings of NotAChromacorns after having checked my wishes thinking I have never had to waste a wish on a Dragon but By Golly I REALLY WANT THIS DRAGON... when I look back at my tablet and AAAH! Sparkly! Chroma-y! MINE! Woohoo! It is possible. May all you other Chroma-less experience the Sparkly Joy! It is sublime. Koala!
I have. Rainbow (Fire Trait) and DRainbow (Lightning Trait). I can't remember what the overall Rift trait was - maybe lightning?
I've been trying since it was released and bred every day until the first 5K breed. I think I got it on day 4, around the 1500 breed mark.
I'm trying for another to get the pedestal - so far no luck.

I've been trying since it was released and bred every day even through two 10,000 breeds which I never, ever do because they are always a waste of resources and never, ever produce any dragon I am trying for and this litte foray proves that yet again, as I have bred nary a desired, wanted, needed, or much coveted dragon let alone the newest Unicorn (aptly nicknamed I might add), that’s right: nada, nothing, zilch, zip. (This post was inspired by Kiwichris, though I am not half as good at run on creative sentencing as our illustrious ‘Holder Down Of The Fort’ Mod!)
I’ve started doing the 15,000 breeds as well, with no luck here either. I hope we all get chromacorns soon! I wish we had an idea of how long this limited would be here.

thank you for bringing some measure of hope, in these dark and chroma-less times.
even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress.

Hi! I have been trying to breed a double rainbow in the rift every day since Chromacorn was released so that I can breed rainbow and double rainbow for chromacorn. No hope for chromacorn since I can’t breed double rainbow. Any tips? Thanks!

I used the sandbox and have been breeding like a maniac to try to get a bronze > to get a rainbow AND a double rainbow, just to be able to TRY for the Chromacorn. Close to 30 fails on the bronze... No luck and have been diligent since day one. Discouraged and losing enthusiasm. I don't like the rift. Maybe it's only really fun for people who are super loaded or very very advanced in their game. For me it's a downer between the high costs for everything, and the dizzying complications of traits & types & alignments have put this part of the game out of my reach. ugh. It seems like one would have to spend a lot of real money on the game to enjoy this aspect of it, and that makes me sad because I used to have fun with it and now, not so much. Sad dragon face. Now the best amusement I can afford is re-naming my dragons thematically, i.e.: artist names, musician names, etc.

bettyburns, you may have better luck for your E expenditure, once you reach the breed cost equivalent, to just buy eggs: my Rrainbows and RDrs came from eggs... If you haven't bought many the cost may still be quite low? I still switch between breeding and eggs, to get Rtwins particularly. OTOH, I have rainbows and STILL no coloured unicorn, despite busting my E bank w breeds up to 10,000 😱 (Note to self, stop doing that!)

I felt that way when the rift came out. I decided I wouldn’t collect in the rift, but I would do the cheapest few breeds every day, and get as many islands and dragons as I could just to build up the rate of purple rift cash generation (otherwise known as etherium, but like I said, I wasn’t focused on it). For me, this removed the stress that the rift could have otherwise brought. Now I am enjoying it more, but primarily I look at the lovely encyclopedia page here to see what the current limited dragons are and try for those, up to the 5k breeds. Especially at first, this frequently led to fails that I didn’t already have, so I felt like I was getting nice surprises.
Because I had built up the number of rift islands and dragons, I have a lot of etherium coming in when I connect, and that gave me the freedom to try for the corny dragon with much much more than I usually would use.
Now though...
I’m not impressed that we have a time limited rift only dragon that requires a double rainbow to breed... and that apparently has low odds. I think it was a poor choice on the part of the devs, To be honest, it puts me back into the “it’s okay if I don’t have every dragon” camp. Oh well.

I really dig the new ZOOOOOOOM feature (used a big word, since it's a big zoom now)
I have been using the zoom in the rift to help with collecting lately. Today I zoomed all the way out and saw the entire rift... wow! I always thought it was too zoomed in, nice add BFS!!

Just luck, but they can be cheaper to acquire than spending more and more E breeding per day in the Rift.

Just a note..
I spent an unholy amount of food to get my rainbow and double rainbow up to level 17 and 18 in the rift.. and once I did was when I was able to get the chormacorn.
I can't say for sure it did it.. but I am willing to bet it increased my odds..

The snowflake eggs were good to me...bought 6 and got all 6 twin rifties, no dupes (and I was missing a regular twin for snowflake 4 - but it didn't seem to matter.) I did get a dupe snowflake from an epic mystery egg - oh well.
So, I only have 104 more rifies to go....where do I start?!?!

Same way as you breed them normally, but in the Rift breeding cave. Any 4 elements in the mix will give you a shot at a Rainbow.

Welcome aboard dragongrower!!! We have an excellent sandbox, thanks to drow , if you use parent finder and select rbow or dble rbow, and tick rift, you can then select from which parents you have, which give the fails you would also like, and which have the fewest number of fail offspring 🐨🐨🐨

I started playing dv when it first came out, side by side with my young daughter who is now an adult! We were charmed by everything about it and in no particular hurry to collect dragons, simply enjoying the journey and delighted by its creativity, beauty, and excellent design. The THRILL of getting my first rainbow dragon!! ...Life got busy, kids got older, my daughter started high school and we both dropped off the game. Then recently, years later, for some reason on the same day in separate cities and without any discussion, we both picked it back up. It felt like a foreign landscape at first - remarkably, I was able to recover my original game although initially I started a new one, so now have two going simultaneously - but we spent time on the phone talking and sharing information and discussing the sandbox etcetera and slowly eased ourselves back in to this awesome vale of dragons world! We sometimes strategise breeding in the co-op and It's so cool to get twins together.
So thank you for the reality check! I'm here to have fun. And connect with my daughter, and goof around and not get all worked up about a rainbow unicorn dragon even if I truly do NEED IT. Oops, I mean, whatever

I like the super zoom out feature... really helps see all the islands and the patterns in the Rift.
I bought 5 of each Rift Theme and grouped my islands in groups of the same theme... next step would be to put dragons of that alignment on those islands... but not enough room to move that many dragons.
