Not having any luck getting Viridian, I thought the hard part would be getting the fire dodo and light malachite. But it seems that was the easy part, so many fails this week.
I bred for Thunderbird today (no luck) and got three differently traited Quake dragons in a row. The third one was Quake[lightning], and, since I love the lightning effect, quickly fed it up to level 7... only to realize a minute later that I already have a level 7 Quake[lightning]. *facepalm* All that lovely, precious food, wasted. At least he's earning more E, I guess. Sigh.
My disorganized mess of Rift dragons is getting out of hand. I think it's time to start sorting by dragon type and maybe making sections/sectors of trait colors. Ugh. Not looking forward to moving everyone.
Well, silver lining is that, when you do breed another Quake with a trait other than lightning or the other 2 you already have, you could hatch it then sell it (or possibly release it, I know other people have stated the new trait still gets unlocked this way, but I hate to risk it for 100 E3M, when generally the dragons I get sell for decent DC and it's just what I would do, I do release if the dragon has a duplicate trait), and if you have your Transfiguration Tower, you can change the 2nd lightning Quake to the new trait.
I hear you on the disorganization. I WAS trying to keep my dragons separated by rift trait (not elements) but now with this spore glitch, most of my habitats have so many spores and a good deal of dragons are in the rift hibernation cave. When I am at a place that I've gotten enough E3M generated, habitats bought and maxed out, traits that I really want unlocked, and fog cleared, I'll go back to separating by rift traits. I like the look better that way than by elements, which I feel is an organizational style best left for my park, not Rift dimension.
I'm now at a point in my rift park (RP?) where I clear, buy a new habitat, max upgrade it, then move on - so I don't feel the need to hatch and keep every last dragon bred there. Every traitless dragon is released for 100 e. If I already have a trait, then I release that as well. And I breed for 1, 100, 220, 220, and 1000. Going for the air trait dodo for several days there don't seem to be any keepers. So I end up spending 1,341 e and releasing those to get back 500 e for a total of 841e each day spent. But I make more than that in a hour so it's all good. Can't believe I've already reached something of a stead state there...
To keep clear what traits I have, I now keep a given dragon all on the same rift island / cluster of rift islands. I'll continue to do this since I think there will be more islands than dragons for a little while here. Makes it easy to find and make sure I have the rift trait already (or not).

Ok, so I've read this page 5 times and still cannot understand whether it's in a language I speak or ....
And absolutely no success at breeding ANY Rifties beyond about step 2 of all of A's or Sbf's various Steps For Infallable Success at Breeding Rift Dragons
O dearie me! 😂😂😂 back to the Utterly Rifted Club
Mostly English, some Dragon. I think Google or someone offers an app for translating that now.
(Fair warning: The following was written while slightly delirious due to sleep deprivation and the point may have gotten lost along the way somewhere.)
Step 2 is a fine place to be! The Rift isn't going anywhere, there's plenty of time to get the dragons. A fire-breathing dragonarium is going to be very difficult to get for a bit, but it's the same for all of us. If you're finding it confusing, take a step back and just play around in there, breed for random traits, get more dragons in the Rift. Have a look at what you get and see if you understand why they were what you got. And when you start to get it, take another look at the Rift exclusive dragons and go for the less complex ones first.
Kampos and Plumewing are magic and will probably pop up at some point just by breeding randomly. Antumbra, Ghast and Thunderbird are the nice, intermediate level ones. Normal elemental combos with one slice of Rifty shenanigans each. Lacuna, Viridian and Zaffer are a whole multi-tiered wedding cake of shenanigans and I'd be surprised if more than a few people had actually bred them legitimately at this point. They take time, effort and good RNG, but you get there in stages and we're all working towards them piece by piece.
And hey, if all else fails, you can try your luck to get them in the mystery eggs! So, yeah. You're not alone here. I've been literally drawing diagrams for some of this and despite that some of the best things I've gotten in the Rift have been from just throwing spaghetti at the breeding cave. Metaphorically speaking.
Love this! Cheers Arkynos ! and because I hadn't realised dragons liked spaghetti, I threw some too.... Haha!!! And bred Alpenglow😳😅☺️ My first Rift end-of-breeding-lines success All thanks due to Arkynos and N/A 🌿🌿🐨🐨🐲🐲 Fwiw; RglassBT ( that's my s/hand for Rift glass bolt trait ((lightning)) x RquakeLT, Rift set on cold, both dragons only at L8 cos I'm perilously low on treats, but, hey, make some spaghetti 😜

Personally as someone still missing about 60-70 dragons including some monthly gemstone ones, I use the Rift to go for those and limited times ones before I focus on Rift excusive dragons. I mean I've gotten some of the new ones by coincidence but they're not going anywhere. So far I've gotten a ton of limited dragons like Bismuth, Amber, Cotton, Paper, and Icebound so far all Thanks to the Rift!

Your not alone. I get 1-2 traited dragons out of 6-8 attempts a day. Sigh.

Looking for party hat friends. Pm me for Facebook Id.
I'm not sure who posted it a week or two back, but the chart for keeping track of rift dragons and their traits has been of IMMENSE value to me. I began with lists of dragons, adding their traits etc, but this chart on which I can highlight each new dragon and trait is so much easier.
I've taken a photo of my chart, and signed up with imgur, but can't see how to make a link to put here so I can show my chart. Help please?
Wow Cecilia. That's awesome so much better that my scrawled chicken scratch.
I'll have a look later and see if I can find the original poster. It's a wonderful tool to use with the guidance from Arkynos, BFS and the others that have been so helpful, and I'd hate members to think I had anything to do with its creation!

Something like this? It's just the hybrids and opposites, because most of the rest of the Rifts are single trait.
Yes! Thank you!
It was magpac's chart that I use to fill in with a highlighter. Posted on 29 September - page 32 or 38 I think. I was hoping it would appear here if I did the 'quote' thingy, but I never know until I post it.

Is anyone else keeping a war chest of E just in case BFS spring something on us? I am keeping my stash above 50,000E.
Oh, dag! Good thinking! Going to start on E savings tomorrow. No more 1000E breedings for me, just going to do the 220s each day and stop there.
I'm assuming a Whitbee's Candy Something or Other is coming soon...wonder of the Rift will be involved? Judging by visits to neighbors, several have chosen to ignore the existence of the Rift. That could be a problem for them if events start using the Rift for points.
New Coop Neighbors are always welcome! PM me so we can exchange FB info
