Yesterday was a little annoying. Tried to breed for another current or any plasma (I used my rift current and water rift to try for Kampos too), and got literally only regular water and lightning dragons. Not a single hybrid or even a primary rift! That said, I've got every special combo dragon except for Kampos and the opposite special rifts Viridian, Zaffer, and Lacuna, so I feel like I'm doing pretty well.

I've been using a Google Sheet to track my rift hybrids, I like things in a spreadsheet where I can edit and change things on the fly, sort the columns differently as needed, etc.
Thank you so much! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do, but was still figuring out how and when. I like lists a lot, but I like them more in electronic form. Saved in a cloud, they are always there where needed and they are more changeable and flexible. Yours also already contains all the lovely details (even the "x" is perfectly centered <3 ) I would have added to my sheet.
The only things I changed are to exchange the columns for fire and earth and have the pedestals counted.

Mostly English, some Dragon. I think Google or someone offers an app for translating that now.
(Fair warning: The following was written while slightly delirious due to sleep deprivation and the point may have gotten lost along the way somewhere.)
Step 2 is a fine place to be! The Rift isn't going anywhere, there's plenty of time to get the dragons. A fire-breathing dragonarium is going to be very difficult to get for a bit, but it's the same for all of us. If you're finding it confusing, take a step back and just play around in there, breed for random traits, get more dragons in the Rift. Have a look at what you get and see if you understand why they were what you got. And when you start to get it, take another look at the Rift exclusive dragons and go for the less complex ones first.
Kampos and Plumewing are magic and will probably pop up at some point just by breeding randomly. Antumbra, Ghast and Thunderbird are the nice, intermediate level ones. Normal elemental combos with one slice of Rifty shenanigans each. Lacuna, Viridian and Zaffer are a whole multi-tiered wedding cake of shenanigans and I'd be surprised if more than a few people had actually bred them legitimately at this point. They take time, effort and good RNG, but you get there in stages and we're all working towards them piece by piece.
And hey, if all else fails, you can try your luck to get them in the mystery eggs! So, yeah. You're not alone here. I've been literally drawing diagrams for some of this and despite that some of the best things I've gotten in the Rift have been from just throwing spaghetti at the breeding cave. Metaphorically speaking.
Thank you!!! I've been letting myself get stressed 😩 & frustrated over all of this. I like the rift but it is so complicated and this doesn't come easy so when I read the multiple posts of info that are flying onto the forum pages I feel overwhelmed. Your post reminded me once again to just breath! Don't allow my OCD / perfectionist / I want it yesterday! Nature to make this game a time stealing stressor!! I started this game for the relaxing 😎 escape. I stayed because of the people in this forum and I am going to force myself to relax.

Arkynos am I on the right path to the hibernation cave? Want to make sure this time lol @kiwichris congrats! we seem to have the same park. We always have problems getting the same dragons etc. what did you use for thunderbird? Was your park aligned to fire?
I had something bizarre happen... I bred an icebound from the rift breeding cave using Kampos and Snowsquall (I had hoped to get either of the parents instead), and when I went to hatch it, I was able to place it in the *rift* hibernation cave. The icebound of course had no rift trait, and I can't place it in a Rift habitat or level it up there, but are we able to place *any* dragon we breed in the rift hibernation cave? I was under the impression only rift dragons could go there. Has anyone else placed any other non rift dragons in the rift hibernation cave?

I would assume this is due to the 2 dragons at a time transfer limit. I would stink to breed a 3rd you wanted and not be able to use the rift breeding cave for 2 hours as the others transfer.

I’m guessing it can hold anything you breed in the rift so that you can later transfer it to your park vs selling it immediately.

I just got my thunderbird today and my rift alignment was on Dark. Got him with lava with fire trait and lightning rift. Happy breeding!!

My Rift is on metal today so I was trying for the Plasma[metal]. No luck on that (what a surprise ), but am happy to have gotten a Wraith[metal] as one of the 4 fails. I think the Wraith might be my favorite Rifty. All three of the traits I've collected so far look super cool, and I bet the others will look equally awesome. Hoping for an air, next.

On the bright side, I think Cold + Fire + Earth + Plant covers all of them except Bog and Lycan. Helps a bit. Will also need to take into account the 7pm to 7am time requirement for Nosferatu, I can't see any reason why that wouldn't still apply in the Rift.

good thing the twilight tower setting for night and a couple others can override this.

Apparently being able to open the Android version of the game was a bug the most recent update fixed... Got back into my park by clearing out all game data (not just the cache) and logging back in; annoying, but could be worse. Hopefully they sort that issue out on their end, not everyone knows where to fiddle with such things and people running on local parks would be SOL.
Ooh, twin galaxy as today's log-in reward. And yay continuing my log-in streak. :-p I should actually start paying more attention to the rift side of things, been distracted past week or two and while the rift variant appearances are neat I'm not terribly thrilled by the time-enforced segregation of the two parks; it's like two almost identical games wedged just far enough together to inconvenience both...
