My Alignment today is METAL. Bred OBSIDIAN (Fire trait) + POISON (Fire trait) trying to get a GARDEN... instead got an ORTREAT (Fire trait).
If you breed any of the limited time Halloween dragons, please list: ALIGNMENT Dragon1 with trait Dragon2 with trait and the limited dragon you were able to breed. THANK YOU!
EDIT: That combo of OBSIDIAN+POISON will give you the possibility of Bone, Garden, Trick, Ortreat.
Mountain *cold trait + Poison *fire trait, during *water rift alignment gave me: Trick *water Ortreat *fire and a Double Rainbow
I think I did two 2000 etherium breeds for the spookies.
I've had NO luck with the other new rifties...so I am pretty happy!!! I may pause my habitat expansion plan to breed more during this event!

No, you were not the only one... To be honest I was quite happy to work on the rift hybrids and unlocking their traits. But I was quite miffed when I saw that more dragons will get traits! This probably means that all hybrid dragons, whether regular or limited, will be getting traits at some point in time.
Hmm, maybe it would make more sense if the spooky dragons only had one specific trait each. But BFS says no, have all the traits!

No way I'm getting all those traits on all those dragons while they're here! I'm impressed by the people who have such complete stats and have this game down to a fine art.

Dragons in the Rift can now be levelled up with Bahamut or Tiamat; they don't have to be kept in the park! Hurray!

I am so tired of transferring dragons back and forth for the roll, even though it's only been a couple weeks. Thank you for posting this news, Rion. I probably wouldn't have even noticed the change if not for your post.👍🏼
Me either, thanks! Now I can transfer my baby Twin Spore back to the rift and still level him up by rolling the dices!
Unfortunately one very annoying issue wasn't patched with the latest update. Feeding dragons in the main park is still painfully slow.
I also would have preferred to not have more dragons with traits to breed. Now I feel overwhelmed again by this whole rift thing and have the feeling things are getting out of my hands. Yes, I realized that I have to start the whole thing anew and it also took a lot of time to build up the main park. But even starting the main park after DV was running about more than a year wasn't so breathless as the rift is now. I don't like the pace BFS has right now with the rift. No wonder so many players give up...

Back to the rift pedestals, here is what I do. I only transferred all standard pedestals to the gigantic island and kept all epic and limited pedestals where they were, because I like them more as decorations on the other islands together with their corresponding dragons. Now they look even better because without the standards it's less crowded. But the the standard pedestals look quite impressive when arranged in rows and columns.

well the silver lining for the timing of introducing so many new, limited dragons that require new rift traits, is that BEB (Bring 'em Back) is right around the corner and so any we miss can be breed in December...when I'm sure there will be more limiteds with Rift traits to get, like reindeer, mistletoe, and holly. Maybe that last part wasn't really silver lining haha.

Im not even starting to get the rift. I've completely given up on being able to understand and breed for specific dragons I would like to get. 😥 It's so funny cause this is just a game that I play and enjoyed because of the joy of successes and the fun of this forum. I am stubbornly struggling to find that equilibrium again because I truly enjoy sharing this game in this forum. Right now As I read about more new rift dragons that are also limited I literally felt like the bottom dropped out of my stomach and in order to keep going it's just becoming a mindless grind of breeding blindfolded and hoping for the best.
This is not a complaint honestly I am just fascinated by my response to a game and reading this forum but feeling totally out of my league and left behind. 🤷♀️
I'm struggling to find a new way to approach this game to recapture the joy of successes from planned steps to a goal. then being able to share with this forum of fun people I have come to depend on as a part of my day.
🤔I never anticipated how connected one can feel to a community of people I have never met in person. Which were brought together by an online game. The overwhelming feeling of being left behind is truly unexpected and of course the only place I have in my life to talk about this discovery is here which is so funny 😂.

Shanda2lee - at first I wasn't happy with the Rift but once I got my head around it and broke each one down I started to enjoy achieving the right results. However my Mum, who got me involved in the game in the first place is totally overwhelmed by it. I have helped her by breaking the new Rift dragons into recipes, where you have to prepare the sauce, filling & topping separately and then bring them all together in steps. She's starting to enjoy it again, although I see her getting a little overwhelmed again once she sees the event breeds! Just remember you don't have to do anything if you don't want to

I'm totally with you I had barely came up with a plan for the rift so I wouldn't be driven crazy by my catch them all OCDness. Which now not even a day later I'm going to have throw it to the wayside so I can get limited dragons. This just feels like I'm playing two games at the same time and it brings me back to my "I all ready bred this why do I have to breed this again" mentality. And to why did they spend time on this rift when they could of should of spent it on in game friending system.
Quiet honestly without this community I would of given up a long time ago. The encouraging words, the helpful breeds, the 411 on the glitches, to all the mischief managed. Thank you all for making this game a lot more fun and given me a place where I can whine and know I'm not the only that feels overwhelmed at times.

Bad news, looks like you can't buy the spooky rift versions of the dragons with the new event. I was hoping if I ended up missing a couple, I could pick them up easily that way. It's going to be no fun trying to get all 10 bred with limited attempts per day.

Yes, that's what I did, too. Had all this wasted space waiting for an inspiration. It was difficult, because I like the look of most of my islands very much at the moment, with pathes laid in patterns around the pedestals. But when the rift pedestals appeared, inspiration kicked in. With them my islands would be overcrowded and suddenly my brain came up with the idea to just devide my pedestals. Keep the beautiful individual eggs as island decorations and make the others an impressive army again.

Quark was one of my fave DS9 characters Koala with your breeding efforts , and during the struggle, feel free to join the Utterly Rifted Club for Valers feeling more than a smidgeon overwhelmed 😆🐨🐨🐨

After playing the rift for about a month, I'm afraid I still couldn't warm up to it Here is what I don't like about the rift:
+ Breeding rules are too complicated, to the point even breeding hints are not very helpful. Really, 5 steps to breed a dragon? + Tiny empty space you can use, unless you spend astronomical amount of E to clear mists. My rift is so crowded! + No decoration possibility at all. I love personalize my park, and without it, rift is just an "utility". + Habitats hold too few E even at largest size. I use to login only twice a day unless there is event, now I have to do it every couple of hours to collect E.
What I like about the rift: + Dragons with rift effects are interesting and sometimes pretty.
As requested by Cyn: Rift Alignment - Plant. Bred Air Blue Fire and Lightning Tree. Results: Lightning Bone, Plant Ortreat, Air Garden. Mostly posting this to share the Bone dragon because they look so cool traited.
