Olds here again with refreshed ability to show pictures, thanks to windrider
I am trying and trying for a plantrift egg. I only ger ordinary. Do you think this little thing catches them all, or do you have any other suggestions? I put a dragon as guard as you can see.

When you are on the rift side, go to the market. Click on the pedestal icon for the plant rift dragon and you can buy the plant rift egg for 250E which is really easier than trying to breed for it.

You see! Second time today. Now amos - and not saying a single word about me being over the hill 😍

The trouble with that is then you have to wait 2 hours as it transfers from the Rift.
Quicker way is to go to the Dragonarium, go to Pedestals, go to Rift, and buy the ones you don't have Then all you need to do is place it somewhere in your regular park (no 2 hour wait).

I have a question. If I have 2 Zaffer's, can I breed like + like to get a third, or do I need to continue using the locked combo?
drow 's fab sandbox says you can, 7 possible fails...but 2 of those are rifty draggies, Better than usually breeding like x like which often opens up the whole extended closet of possible fails 😊

Kiwichris Could you please give me the link to drow 's fab Sandbox I seem to lose everything. (Perhaps it has to do with the travelling. The day before yesterday I saw about 30 pilot whales between La Gomera and Tenerife. It was a moment for life. Now I am in old Sweden again. Fairly warm. + 10 C. Not bad ☺️)

oldsmol, just tap drow's highlighted name in kiwichris01's post. That will take you to drow's profile page where you will see a link to the fab Sandbox at the bottom. The info is also in drow's signature at the bottom of his posts.

HELP!!!! I was sending a copy of a wonderful Excel spreadsheet to a fellow Valer and I cleared all the traits I had acquired!! It was the best checklist I had seen. I know I got it from someone here but can't find it. Here are the details: Done is Excel. Had Primary Rifts at the top, a section for the hybrids in the middle and a section for specials at the bottom. It was all color coded and automatically kept track of total completion percentages, trait completion for specific dragon, etc.

Hi Look on page 1. There are links to spreadsheets there.
Can a dragon have multiple traits simultaneously or different traits one at a time?
When you unlock a trait for a type of dragon through breeding or buying it, it is available for each dragon of that type, but each dragon can only display one trait at a time. For instance, if you have metal and cold unlocked for rain dragons, you can select which single trait to assign an individual rain dragon out of those two available traits.
So yesterday was supposed to be Dark Alignment in my park. Since I am still trying for some of the Spooky Pedestals and had a stockpile of E I decided to pay and change my Rift Alignment to Plant. Shelled out the 10,000 E and it changed to Plant showing a 48 hour Plant timer. Since it would have changed to Plant after Dark anyway and I was okay with two days of Plant. Instead this morning after only 24 hours of Plant at reset it changes to DARK! Arrggg! I would not have wasted the E if I had known that.

I'm confused, how does setting the alignment help in any way getting pedestals? I thought the only thing it effects are the possible traits the dragon has if hatched.

I may be the one confused. I thought it also helps or hinders trying for specific dragons because it adds an element. All I know is I am never changing the Alignment again. I ended up breeding over a dozen plain old regular dragons in a row with nary a Rifty among them.

the alignment only effects the rift traits that get inherited by the offspring of your breeding pair; it doesn't contribute elements to the breeding mix. So for example if you were breeding a rift lava (let's say with an earth trait) with a cold rift dragon, during plant alignment, you would never get a chance to get a thicket dragon, since the plant element isn't involved. But a Decay with a plant rift trait could be a possibility.
Changing the alignment only helps when trying to breed alignment specific dragons, like Antumbra and Frostfluff. Sorry about the E3M.

Oh poor Cyn. So, to check my brain in; elements are not traits .
breeding in the Rift still requires the parents to have the necessary elements between them, just as for breeding in the Vale.
Rift Alignment to a particular Trait at the time of breeding, only possibly contributes that trait to the baby draggies ( who can possibly inherit a parent trait and not a Rift Alignment?) .
Some Rift dragons can only be bred when the Rift is on a specific Alignment ( like Antumbra and Frostfluff) yes?
I'm having better luck at blue-hearting than at breeding. Got 2 twin Dracabras. So I'll just be putting out my new dragons to stud, folks! Oni's up right now
