Now that we have an influx of limited dragons which can have rift traits, it can be quite overwhelming. It's quite possible that we won't be able to unlock traits for all these dragons during BEB, so I thought I might come up with a list which can help us prioritise certain dragons based on when they are available during the year. Click on "Breeding List for Rifted Limiteds" below to expand!
Dragons which are only available during BEB take first priority, as well as the winter dragons. Then come the dragons from the Thanksgiving period, especially this year's event dragons as well as Gourd. (It seems that this year's Om of Noms dragons don't have breeding combinations as yet though...) Last on the list would be the Valentine's event dragons, since those are coming back in a month or two.
I'm not too sure about whether the house dragons will come back every summer event; it seems that they weren't available during the Roar of the Rift based on the DragonVale Wiki. I've put them in the Summer event section, but it's possible that they're also BEB-only...
Feel free to suggest corrections and improvements!
Mountain Sun (Summer?) Blazing Gale (Summer?) Icy Torrent (Summer?) Hidden Bolt (Summer?) Iron Blossom (Summer?) Faire (Summer) Tidal (Summer) = Quake + Abyss Darkling (Summer)

This is a fabulous post, thanks so much for making it. I'll be using this the rest of BeB for sure.
For planning purposes I made a version of that list with just the dragons that can't be gotten as a fail in a double-locked combo, and added element letters to get some idea of how to combine them. If you want them you'll have to vary the combos away from the locked ones, and so I think doubling up on several of these at a time is a good idea. Thought it might be useful for others here, so here goes, and sorry if I made mistakes.

One thing to note is that the components for Epoch and Dracabra are both on the list and those two have very useful element combinations, hitting a lot of the unlocked limiteds not listed. It may be prudent to aim for Bearded/Bloom/Lycan/Decay early for that reason.
And of course, depending on your breeding and mystery egg luck, you'll want to deviate from all of this anyway. Like, I got Epoch on my first Bearded/Bloom attempt so will have to figure out where to get the others from that combo later. But it's a start at least. 🤯

the good news though is at least Epoch is one of the options as a dragon we will receive from the giftery on Day 20 of the Frosty Jubilee, and if you have both a twin and a non twin version of Epoch, the giftery should offer a rift traited version of Epoch (or Panlong or Neoteric, whichever you have both versions of and feel is best to get). Thankfully I got a rift Neoteric from a mystery egg, and pan long doesn't have a locked combo, so I'll be choosing Epoch on Day 20.

Thank you so much for the list!!! Now I have three lists for BEB. Pedestals, seconds/twins, and rifties. With my storm with lighting and Ortreat with fire I've gotten: reindeer, trinket, gift, regift, paper, coal and nesting. I've also gotten delight, melancholy, surprise, a bunch of auroras and leap years.
Added elements needed for easier breeding!

Wouldn’t the same breeding apply to the rift as in the sandbox or am I crazy? I still cant fully understand this Rift unless I think Of it as normal breeding but w traits. I’m missing so many it’s ridiculous lol There should be one combo that gives you the chance of getting a lot of dragons. I used Trick and Cold and got a ton of missing Halloween rift dragons I never got along with some randoms.

Yes same breeding applies, only difference no waiting time for hatching. There is a few pairings that can give you many dragons. A lot of the winter/Christmas, Halloween, and anniversary dragons have earth, plant, fire, and cold needed for breeding. Hence the reason I'm using my Ortreat (plant, fire, earth) with my storm (lighting, cold) lots of possibilities as well as bloom and Celtic which has storm and any plant as it set combo. But since I have 5 elements, well 6 counting the rift I also get those rainbow, DR, Aurora, and leap year fails. Not so bothersome in the rift since no waiting time.

Hi guys, just read this from a FB post. DO NOT STORE your twin rifts pedestals in the storage tower. Doing so and taking it out will change it into a twin pedestal without any rift traits. I don't know how true that is,neither do I know if this glitch affects non-twin rift pedestals, but I think no one wants to take the chance.

Thanks for the warning. Tested it this morning and can confirm that stowing a TwinRift egg DOES cause the Rift trait to disappear from it. Tried a non-twin Rift egg as well, the trait remained, so the problem is only for the mystery egg TwinRifts. Take care, all, and Koala. 🐨
So...is it normal to be finding treasure chests in the rift? Today is a Treasure Tuesday, but when I discovered a rogue chest lurking in an awkward little gap between two rift habitats, it struck me as a tad bizarre, and given that I've had a number of rift-related glitches, I wasn't sure if that was another one. Anyone else finding treasure chests adrift in the rift today?

Came to post the same oddity. Mine was hiding behind etherium.

The high-pitched noise it makes when you tap on a Rift habitat is the exact same noise my (dearly departed) yellow Lab, Miss Magnolia, used to make when her paw got accidentally stepped on. Freaks me out, every time.

Okay I just have to say that breaks my heart for you. I don’t think I could play the rift at all with the body reaction you would have to the sound. 😲😢
EDIT: possible solution. Every time you go,into the rift. Just flick off the sound switch on your device. Hard to remember I know but a full rift is 40 islands 😲😲.

With the demise of game centre I just started in FB to be able to friend people from this forum and join in on the fun. Please message me if you want to send a friend request so I know to watch for you😊, I never check FB otherwise. I'm deleting random requests way too many of those 😮.
I have managed a few good ones in the last couple of days. I was able to get a Bearded (Light), Bicentennial (Air), Cotton (Metal) and a Garland (Fire).
I would have rather had the limited rifts be introduced slowly through the year. It feels a bit too much at once. I like to make lists and keep track of what I need, but I have no idea how to keep up with it now other than when I go to hatch something to see if I need it or not... I would love to have a Rift Section in the dragonarium to make it easier or at least two colors for the rift symbol, one if you have it and one if you have all traits.

After breeding in the rift you are proposed various options. The two first show the dragon you got and on the upper right corner there is a figure. Click on he figure and it will show you all the dragons of that kind you already hold, including twin and rift variations. You can now see if you need to hatch it or not, similarly, on the egg option, click the number and you will know what your u already have or not.
After several days of fruitless tries for Winter, Thunderbolt, and/or Barite in the Park with Hail X Dodo, I decided to try them in the Rift. Had to pull a rifty version of each out of storage and feed them up to level 7. Results: the 1E breeding produced Winter, the 100E breeding produced Thunderbolt! 😳😄🎉🍹 I even got a Winter pedestal on one of the 220E breeds. It was crazy!
It's getting a little harder to target the last bunch of dragons I still need. BEB has been so successful for filling in my missing dragons (woohoo!), I'm now down to mostly locked combos. (To no one's great surprise😄) I have a question about primaries, their rifty counterparts, and locked combos: Carnival has a locked combo: Pepper X Earth. Can the Earth Rift be substituted for the regular Earth dragon?

Carnival's combo is what I think is known as semi-locked: the pepper is mandatory but the other dragon can be anything with an earth element. There's lots of these around; stuff like Butterfly and Bouquet are other examples. I can't think of anything that has a primary as a locked parent now after the change to the opposites, though someone interjecting with a correction here wouldn't surprise me at all. So just set up your favourite Earth dragon for this, or pick a specific dragon to double up with attempts for something else. Root is notable as the other locked component for Gourd.

Thank you. My messy BEB notes say Pepper X Earth, so I thought it was specifically the Earth Dragon, not any earth type. That's what I get for rushing and not making a clear, pretty list.

I second Arkynos 's recommendation of trying PEPPER + ROOT, as I got my rift gourd from that combo and carnival is a fail too, so you can double up on breeding the limited rift dragons! Other good combos include: FLOWER + STORM (for both love and bloom), FLOWER + rain/fog/bubble/vortex (for both bouquet and rose) Rose + river (panlong and sumi) MOUNTAIN + brass/forge/sulfur/molten (bearded and nether) And COPPER + any air dragon (liberty and kite) Koala!
Just a quick addition to N/A 's post above: if you don't mind the slightly scattershot approach, Bearded + Rain(etc) is another good one. Gives Century, Ironwrought, Terradiem, Flurry and Icebound.
If anyone else has come up with any other nice combos for the Rift 'em Back time then I'd love to hear them!

I don't think this has been mentioned here before, apologies if so: it may be best to hatch all mystery eggs purchased, of the category you are buying another in, at least, to prevent duplicate eggs? I got a second equinox with the first sitting unhatched in my gifts list....😞
