I'm concentrating on getting my Etherium production maxed, before I start going hunting for the towers, which appear to be in different places for different people.
By my calculations, it's going to take around 470,000 Etherium just to buy all 40 Rift Habitats and upgrade them to Regal, plus however much it's going to cost to clear all the Miasmic Ether.
Looks like this will be a long haul
There is a user on Reddit who has cleared all the Miasmic Ether, I've left a post to ask how much it cost to clear it all. Will report back
And he said the cost increases by ~250 Etherium per square, with the last ones costing in the 38k range, so there's another 2.7-2.8 million Etherium required.
Assuming you get 40 habitats, all upgraded to level 5, and you collect them when they are full (200 Etherium, which is every 2 hours), that's 8000/collect. Or 350 collects to have enough to clear all the Miasmic Ether.
So assuming you can collect 5 times a day, after you are maxed on Etherium production, it will take ~2 months to clear all the Rift Park. And probably around that to *get* to full production.

So, here's a conundrum (I'm not completely caught up on posts either, so apologies if someone has already encountered this).
I have 344 etherium I was to upgrade the small rift habitat. Box pops up and says the upgrade needs 156 etherium, do I want to buy more. What? I have 344, so I have enough. I read it twice (no, 3 times) to make sure it didn't say that I need 156 MORE etherium. 😕 I'd post a screen shot, but have no clue ho to do that. (But will send it to BFS if I decide to contact them.

The box is confusing. But yes, you need 500 etherium and it should have said you needed 156 more

The new Rift dragons the easy, but not necessarily quickest way!
Antumbra
1) Your Rift must be aligned to Earth element to breed this. 2) Use Dark Rift + Alpenglow, or Light Rift + Voltaic. 3a) If you don't have Alpenglow/Voltaic, breed Dark/Light Rift with any other basic Rift dragon to get a Rift hybrid with a Dark/Light element. 3b) Breed the dragon you got in 3a with the other basic Light/Dark Rift dragon that you didn't use to get it.
Ghast
1) Breed Dark Rift or Light Rift with Fire Rift to get a Watch/Dungeon/Heat/Ember dragon with a Fire Trait. 2) Breed the dragon you got in 1 with the other basic Light/Dark Rift dragon that you didn't use to get it.
Kampos
Breed literally anything with Water Rift, or any other Rift dragon with a Water trait. Can easily double up breeding for this with other dragons on this list.
Plumewing
Breed literally anything with Air Rift, or any other Rift dragon with an Air trait. Can easily double up breeding for this with other dragons on this list.
Viridian
1) Breed Fire Rift and Air Rift to get a Blazing/Smoke dragon with a Fire trait. 2) Breed Earth Rift and the Blazing/Smoke dragon with a Fire trait from step 1, to get a Dodo dragon with a Fire trait. 3) Breed Light Rift and Plant Rift to get a Meadow/Luminous dragon with a Light trait. 4) Breed Metal Rift and the Meadow/Luminous dragon with a Light trait from step 3, to get a Malachite dragon with a Light trait. 5) Breed the dragons bred in steps 2 and 4 together.
Zaffer
1) Breed Air Rift with Cold Rift to get a Snow/Blizzard dragon with an Air trait. 2) Breed Fire Rift and the Snow/Blizzard dragon with an Air trait from step 1, to get a Blue Fire dragon with an Air trait. 3) Breed Metal Rift and Water Rift to get a Rust/Quicksilver dragon with a Metal trait. 4) Breed Lightning Rift and the Rust/Quicksilver dragon with a Metal trait from step 3, to get a Plasma dragon with a Metal trait. 5) Breed the dragons bred in steps 2 and 4 together.

Now I remember why I have had you as a friend in this game for years! Of course our daily Gem trade hasn't hurt! Is it okay if I copy and paste this in the OP? Nevermind, I'm doing it anyway...
Sorry, you got me wrong. What I meant was that the for example the forth island was much cheaper than the 14th one was. And the obstacles increased too. On most of the latest islands were more of the expensive obstacles than the cheaper ones. In the Rift, we have neither islands nor obstacles, but we have the mist, which is becoming more expensive from the inner to the outer circles.
No I didn't get you wrong. That's why I said this has never happened when we have such a quantity of things to clear. We obviously have more than 20 mists, yes? Whereas we have 20 islands, which represent a great deal more space than mists, so the progressive nature of the costs makes more sense.
And frankly, I think the expensive to cheap obstacle balance leveled out around island 10, with island 13 or 14 having a bunch of expensive trees, and notably island 18 or 17 having mostly cheap bushes as exceptions. And at NO point was each island only filled with one obstacle progressively getting more expensive, as I explained before.
So I don't think this is similar to islands or obstacles (or even a mix), as I explained. I don't actually mind this tactic, but I don't think we have to say it's not singular to the game when it is.

I think you mean trait, not element. That's what their breeding hints say anyway.
OK so I've read through all the info so far until now, and I'm going to go back and read again, but just a few questions from a very confused old-timer:
So say I want to try to breed Plumewing (it seems like a pretty easy one) which needs the Air element with a cross through it (Air Trait?) and Rift. I've got Air Rift from the event which have both those symbols. How would I breed a Plumewing? By sticking Air Rift in with any other dragon and crossing my fingers?
You need a dragon with an Air trait and a dragon with a Rift element. However, the Plumewing dragon also appears in the dragonarium under Air and Fire, so I would try and Air Rift Dragon and a rift dragon with a fire element (and imo an air trait). I'm going to try Blightwing (which has air and fire elements even though it has a dark trait) with my Air Rift Dragon (which obviously has the required air trait).
I don't have Blightwing, so I just tried Air Rift and Fire Rift in the Rift Cave. (BTW, it only cost me 1 Edrug? Did I read that correctly?) and got a Blazing with a lightning trait (presumably because my Rift park is set to lightning today, although that didn't change the breeds I did in the Cold yesterday... maybe that was a glitch). ...THAT is cool-looking. Kudos to BFS for the neat changes without having to come up with whole new dragons!
Right. Next breed is 100 Edrugs. Got a Smoke with an air trait, not lightning. This... might take awhile. (Oh but you can move multiple dragons between parks! Is that new too? I thought it was only one! EDIT: 2/2, so whichever way you move, you can only have 2 dragons moving at once. OK, got it. Wonder if that will be something we can expand in the future?) So I'll use the Smoke next with an Air Rift to see if that results in anything. If people have success breeding the new dragons, it'd be nice to have a list of exactly what they used to get there... and how to get to that point too!
Gotta buy more habitats... I wish there was a way to earn a bit more Edrugs, like a mini game or something... BFS? You guys listening? I'm done for today, run out of edrugs for now.

Yes, quite right! Wasn't paying enough attention to the breeding hint icons, clearly.
I'll fix the post and tag Cyn here to come clean up my mistake in the first page of the thread. Sorry!
Okay, because lots of people are confused about them, I'll try to write up a thing. xD
Traits
All dragons that have the new Rift element now have a trait. This includes the elemental Rift dragons and the House Rift dragons from the last event, but there is a new source of this as well.
When a standard (non-golden) Hybrid or Opposite dragon is bred in the Rift, there is a fairly high chance that they will be born with the Rift element in addition to their normal ones.
The trait that these Rift dragons have can be any one of the 10 basic elements. A trait is not an element, however, and that dragon does not contribute their trait's element while breeding* or gain the ability to be placed into that type of habitat.
Basic elemental Rift dragons and special Rift dragons are locked to a single, pre-chosen trait. The trait that a Hybrid or Opposite dragon gets can be inherited from the traits of either parent, or can be the current element that the Rift is aligned to. You can see the current element of your Rift space in the bottom icon bar while in the Rift, and from the colour of the firefly effect present there.
The aligned element of your Rift changes every day at the daily reset. (When it's not bugged, this wasn't working yesterday.) You can change the element yourself by pressing the elemental icon in the icon bar and paying a substantial amount of Ethereum. This changes your element to the one of your choice until the reset after next.
Aesthetically, possessing a trait alters a dragon to have part of their body's colouration replaced with a shiny elemental effect. The effect is different depending on what element the trait is. Eggs with the Rift element also are shiny, but this does not vary depending on the trait. There is therefore effectively 10 new variations of each standard Hybrid and Opposite dragon and 1 new variation of their eggs.
When you discover the Transfiguration Tower, you can change the trait of a Rift element dragon to any trait that you have previously hatched that dragon with. The traits that you have unlocked for each breed of dragon can be viewed in that dragon's Dragonarium page.
Some special dragons may require their parents to have specific traits, or the Rift to be set to a specific element in order to be bred.
*This could do with additional testing. Be cautious with your dragons. Terms and conditions apply.
Think that's it. Did I get anything wrong or miss anything?
EDIT: SBF got there before me!
See this is what bugs me, there's barely enough space for the dragons I all ready have let alone for these "new" variations. Ugghhh
The more I play in the Rift the more Rifting annoyed I am. I hate having to spend E to breed dragons. I wish there was an option to wait out the time or spend the E if I wanted to. I also hate that I'm breeding for dragons I ALL READY HAVE, only because they glow I'm supposed to be super excited about that. 🙄😡 Let's not even talk about how many treats it takes to level them up. 😱😱😱
I just wish they would of spent this coding on coming up with an in gaming friending system or how about the option of transferring the treats fed to one dragon to another. At least that way I won't feel like I wasted my time and treats for dragons I'll have sell in order to make room for the "glowy" 🙄 versions.
Well that's enough of me being a Debbie downer, I'll see how I feel tomorrow or in a week.
Main park GCID: purple-jale Lost baby park Working on my seconds and pedestals.
EDIT: Scratch all this, apparently it has been 'worked out' that there are only 5 possible pairs-of-positions for the tower/cave, and you can work out which of the 5 you have, with at max, clearing 5 squares. And actually get them both with a max of 13 clearings.
BTW, I've been trying to figure things out for my own info, and, because you can see where a building is, when you clear the Miasmic Ether next to it, you don't have to clear the whole Rift to find the buildings.
I think, by counting, the Rift is 12x12 blocks of Miasmic Ether, though I have seen some things that indicate it *might* be 13x13, you appear to be able to select miasma under the edge, which might not be clearable, but I haven't got there yet.
If the Rift IS 12x12, you can get away with clearing ~46 blocks, which will cost about 270k Etherium (and give you space for your 40 Regal habitats), though if it's 13x13, you would need to clear an extra 10, making the cost 399k.
The orangey pattern below (I'm sure there are others that work too) will get you next to all the blocks, without having to clear everything.
Legend:
The bold outline squares are the big blocks of Miasmic Etherium, clear the orange ones, leave the purple ones until after you have found the building, or want more space. The "I" and "B" are the individual 1x1 and 2x2 blocks of Miasma at the edge of the already cleared area where your starting islands are. The Blue area is the un-moveable Rift Gate/Airship Dock.
Here is a pattern that works for the 13x13 case, and only needs an extra 10 blocks cleared, though it sure looks 12x12 to me

I think it would be nice if we could get Etherium from races and quests. That would give people who have already got all the fragments and essence they need an incentive to still do the races, and might make Etherium just a little bit easier to get.
I've also found out that you can't send dragons on quests from the Rift, which means if you get the quest for a Rift dragon, you either have to send it all the way to your normal park then all the way back again, or send the wrong dragon. I think it would be better if you could send dragons on quests from the rift, or there just weren't any quests for rift dragons. For people who still do quests, it's annoying to not be able to send the right dragon.
I also think that Kairos should speed up the airship and the time it takes for dragons to travel to the rift. Things are hard enough at the moment without having extra disadvantages like that.
