Only way to get them is from the Galaxy Mystery Eggs when they are in the Rift Market.
At least they follow the 'rule' of: Normal, Twin, Twin Rift, if you get duplicates.
Please note, you CANNOT breed Rift Galaxies in the Rift as Galaxy dragons can only breed in the co-op cave.
what`s that for a rule ? I know it was mentionned with the gifted eggs during the winter saga too, but wasn`t aware that it is an overall rule.
It seems mystery eggs give a normal dragon (if you don't own one already), or a twin (if you have a regular version), or a rifted twin (if you already have a twin). There are some things which don't follow this (ie ghostly dragons which can't be rifted AFAIK).
After 7 months, on the last day in January, I finally got my second chromacorn using chromacorn and aubergine. I have to credit these boards with my success. Whining finally paid off. I would like to thank everyone who gave their support during the making of this dragon. Cyn who pointed out there was an easier way to do this, even though I didn't go that route, rion who commiserated on the degree of difficulty facing the attempt and Arkynos who with his usual patience and knack for clarity explained exactly how you get chromacorn and corrupticorn. If I've forgotten to thank anyone personally please forgive me and know you have my sincerest appreciation. I am just so excited receiving this award...

So I just got the the point where I can enter the rift. But when I enter it won’t let me do anything. It says you are supposed to breed the dragons you have in their but when I try to it dosent let me. It also won’t just let me leave the rift and go back to my island. I’ve uninstalled and redownloaded the app several times and even turned off WiFi and restarted my phone and nothing seems to be working. What do I do?

This sounds like an issue with the tutorial that should walk you through the rift process, that perhaps it's stuck and not showing you the correct step. Your only option is to email Backflip. If the game is locked up enough that you can't open a ticket from within the game under options, just email support@backflipstudios.com directly. Give them any information you can about locating your park if you mail directly, such as FB name, GC name, social name/number, etc that you may have. They're pretty good about getting back to you with answers within a day or so.

maybe you can work around the error: do you have the market button? in the rift only dragons with rift traits can breed. You have to buy the basic dragons again : plant rift dragon, earth rift dragon... But for this you will need Etherium. That's the main currency in the rift. Instead of dragon cash the dragons will earn you etherium with which you can buy more dragons and more habitats in the rift. The tutorial should have given you a starting amount of Etherium. since you have not had a tutorial this might be the critical point. With a little bit of chance you have gotten Etherium and can buy a plant rift and an earth rift which you then can breed in the rift cave. you also have to buy at least one rift habitat to earn more etherium.
if you have no etherium, only BFS will be able to help you.

I’m sure one of ya’ll have done it already— is there a chart somewhere of how much it costs to feed a rift dragon at different levels?
Trying to get that aubergine dragon evolution, and normally I just upgrade to level 7-10 with ether, but this level 18 berry is expensive! Not sure if it’s worth all the hassle and ether I’m spending when I could be focusing on other dragons during beb. Thoughts?

I was very lucky to breed a Rigel the same day it was introduced.
Today, yet again, I was able to breed a second one.
Should I hatch it as a Display Egg, as this is what I am mlssing, or as an ordinary dragon and then breed the Display Egg with the two Rigels?
One never knows if DragonVale will introduce another dragon that wull be need a Rigel to be evolved? In that case i will alteady have one extra Rigel waiting?

There is a breakdown on the Wiki of how many treats you need to feed each rift dragon to level it up. It also shows the etherium breakdown per level. Hope this helps.
As far as whether it is worth the hassle, that depends on how badly you want an Aubergine dragon. After you've levelled up your RBerry to level 18, you also need to spend 100 gems to evolve it to an Aubergine - as well as have 6 Jelly plants ready, the Jelly plant log decoration in your park and it has to be raining in your park. (These are compulsory requirements - standing on one leg with one eye closed is entirely optional)
If it is the last dragon that you need, I would say go for it. If you don't have a lot of etherium and still need a lot of dragons, I would use the etherium for breeding the missing dragons. You may get lucky and get an Aubergine as your Epic daily reward or it may also appear again in a future event that you can use event currency to buy.
My thoughts, but entirely up to you which choice to make.

Please don't give BFS ideas about evolving Rigel........ It was bad enough when they decided we needed to evolve a Chromacorn to Corrupticorn.
According to the sandbox, Rigel contributes all elements to the breeding pool, so you can get nearly every dragon. You would be better to use two galaxy dragons that don't give as many results. The only place that you can clone a Galaxy dragon is in the Co-operative Breeding Cave, so using one or two Rigels doesn't increase your chances as it does with most parent breeding.
I had the same concern when my chrysalis egg purchase gave me a second Rigel. But you can't breed Rigel as it is still greyed in my list when selecting chrysalis dragons to breed in the Rift. So i decided for the egg pedestal so that my collection of eggs is now complete.
