Nessa, this is exactly what I am feeling, this extension is tailord to make money for BFS. Now you pay to breed, was 200 thinggy for first breeds, now it is already 1000 ! And you will need a LOT of breedings to get the required mixes of - for ex. Blue fire with air traight and then Plasma with metal straight in order to be able to breed Zaffer. Of course you will have piles of fails whch you can repatriate to your park but there too it is already crowded and your Hibernation place is getting full. Your gems are becoming of lesser use so ... switch to buying essence .... I cut the music, can t stand it, and now even cutting the noises, can t sand it either. I think i will look in there from time to time, play with my park for a while and will slowly turn to other activities.
I like ot very well, I think you might have forgotten how slow it was in the begining. My daughter started now and I admit I had forgotten how long getting enough money takes. She still now had clear he first Island but only because she got a galaxy Dragon with a habitat as 2nd day present. "Mom Do you see how much money I get." So for me this riff feels like starting again in a good way. The joy when you got your 2nd panlong dragon and started nass production ;-). Not that I check this forum to speed things a little up :-). And you have 3 Breeds and they are instant before you have to pay 1000 my 2nd yesterday was an instant Rainbow.

I'll take the advice to heart about keeping all Rift breeding results magpac , and forgoing the airship's (almost) instant gratification vonfirmath .
We can spend E instead of Food to level up dragons?? Going to check that out.... *
btw, yesterday when I went to "Release" an unrifty hatchling I got the message ".......release this dragon for zero etherium?" ZERO? No idea why, next unrifty wasn't zero. Anyone else get this?
*I've corrected this misapprehension - see below

So just to see if I've got it all straight in my mind, for general "no idea what's going on" players, we should follow these basic steps:
Go to the Rift. Collect from any habitats, click on the little whirlpool thingys for some extra etherium, send the airship out if you'd like (at the very least send the dragon, it'll get you a few extra etherium). You'll have a plant and a fire dragon at minimum since everyone started with those. Breed at the cave, for 1 Etherium. Sell that dragon unless you REALLY need it, which will net you 99 Etherium. Rinse and repeat until you've got enough for another habitat. Buy habitats, fill with rift dragons, buy more habitats. If you need more rift dragons, breed at the cave a few more times, but at some point it'll be 1000 etherium to breed, so stop and wait for it to reset the next day to continue doing that. Once you've bought 9 habitats, it's cheaper to start upgrading those that you've got, so upgrade all of the 9 habitats until you've upgraded once, then go back to buying more habitats and filling them with rift dragons.
At some point you'll need to clear the rift to make space. The most efficient way is the image Cyn posted via reddit, where you'll clear a total of 5 spots to figure out which configuration you're in. Once you know, start clearing spots toward the buildings. You could probably set a decent goal of clearing at least 1 spot a day with no problem.
For breeding dragons, refer to the step-by-step guide on the front page for who to breed how and when.
And that's it for now!
...how's that, guys? Any changes/additions?
Absolutely perfect except don't "Sell", (made it bold in your summary) never sell!!!! Release!!! Releasing is the only way to get the Etherium! I'm sure that's what u meant but someone else who gets confused easily like me would make the mistake of selling 😲.
Thank you for your summary 😊👍
Oops! Yes, Release is what I meant! RELEASE for 99 Edrugs! (Breathe... and.... release. Goooooooood.)

Oh my gosh! With the Galaxy habitat and dragon you automatically get, it is SO MUCH EASIER for new players to progress quickly than it was when we didn't have it! That galaxy hab changed a lot for new players @_@

No, silly me! 😜 vonfirmath meant to spend the food on leveling dragons up instead of fueling the airship! Just went back to my park and spent the food I would have flung willy-nilly into the Rift to bring one rifty dragon from 9 to 10 and one from 7 to 10. I'm feeling richer already!

Hello, I just wanted to thank you all for the precious informations provided here, that help me with the Rift. A Big thank to Cyn and Magpac for the map and extra detail, I just discovered I'm layout 5 and the silhouette of my tower. Now I can take my time to clear it, as it has become expensive; well I just have to exploit my dragons to earn more ether. I like the Rift, I see it as a new goal (but I'm in no hurry) as I only lack a few dragons that are not available at this time... so far I have bred a kampos and a plumewing, so I'm happy...
Yesterday one of my four breeds was Swamp with Metal trait. You can use Swamp on the "other side" to breed Plasma. If I put Lightning with my Swamp do I have a shot at Plasma with Metal trait on the rift side?
For clarification - The guide on page one says try to get Rust/Quicksilver for Plasma, but I am guessing that Swamp would work as well.
I tested the gem mystery egg out. It does not increase in price! Yay! Also it was a twin. It might be a good option for people looking for gemstone/crystalline twin dragons and pedestals.

I think the traits are only passed down to progeny in the Rift, if that's what you mean.

You only get Etherium for "Releasing" a dragon when you do it in the Rift Hatching location. You get the choice to Hatch, Make it into a Pedestal, Sell or Release. Choose to release the dragons you do not want to keep and you get 100E.
And it seems MUCH cheaper to use E to level up a dragon at the higher level so I'm planning to do that. (One reason I'm keeping track of how much it takes)
Oh, and the E needed scales. So if you have spent half the food required to get to the next level, you will only need half the E to finish leveling that way.

I'm keeping ever Rift-hybrid, even duplicates, and will continue to do so until my Rift Park is clear, every habitat bought and fully upgraded, and I'm earning 8000 Etherium/collect.
At *that* point, I'll replace, release, sell stuff I don't want.
Well, there may come a point before that where you'll run out of space to put new dragons and have to use the hibernation cave. The breeding cost resets every day, but the cost for habitat slots is ever-increasing.
At that point, you can start releasing duplicates.

Something else to think about -- how are you naming the dragons?
Though maybe not as important because you can see the trait in the picture.
If I get a Smoke with Fire, say -- I am naming it SmokeRf -- R for Rift and the trait after. l is lightening. L is light.
I know I'm boring, but I name all my dragons after their associated quest. For instance, my lotus dragon is named Traversal (for transcendent traversal). And yes, if I have duplicates, they get the same name. I do it for my rift dragons as well. That way I never forget which dragon a particular quest requires.... Not very creative I know, but useful.

I definitely have issues understanding these maps. Would someone be so kind as to circle what ether I need to clear on the pic I posted? I'm having a difficult time understanding these graphs:( thank you
Also, I have yet to breed a dragon w a trait that my Rift is aligned with.....my head is legit spinning! I don't know what to breed at this point bc I tried breeding following the steps posted on here but don't get the right traits. Sigh

Please repost your pic or a link to it so I don't have to hunt. There's a lot to comb thru.
The Rift alignment, while necessary for specific breeds, is not a transferable quality. We need to breed for as many variations of each dragon as possible, then only one needs to transmutate to the desired trait for breeding purposes. (eeeee, I hope that's clear, "consternation face")
As as you can see on this page of the Breeding Hints, Antumbra doesn't require a specific Rift alignment. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that first symbol means "any Rift dragon with an Earth trait".

I'll post a picture as soon as I can. But breeding in the Rift is just like breeding in the Vale -- random. You won't necessarily get it on the first try Or even the tenth I've been breeding for Singularity since it came out and do not have it yet!
See where my metal dragon is in the lower edge of the Rift Dimension? Right next to a small patch of uncleared light ether? Extending down in a line from him is 2 patches of light ether I cleared of the three necessary to see if that is the direction of the 2 and 3 Tower and the 5th Cave. 2,3,5 determination, on Flickr
If you clear all of those and find nothing, then you've got the Setup of "4" and need to follow those areas on the map.

Actually, Antumbra is the only that does require a specific Rift Alignment. When they mean Any Rift Dragon with a specific trait they put it in a Yellow Circle like the Ghast underneath. The Rift symbol with a particular trait means the Rift alignment needs that.
(I got my Kampos with a Water Rift Dragon. The Rift Alignment was NOT set to water)
