I displayed my first ember and released the second. Maybe I needed to have kept the first one to get a twin. Or maybe it's a random chance. I don't know, confused. But very happy with Antumbra, my first rift special!

Something interesting: dragons in original dragonvale hibernation cave show as producing etherium for me (o/month if they aren't dragon which can now gain a rift element, 1/hr for dragons who can go riftian, but there are no riftian dragons currently in there). Once I put them in a habitat, they went back to producing DC, but I thought that was an interesting change!
has anyone figured out if it's possible to breed pure rift dragons? when i breed plant rift and plant rift i get a regular plant, not a plant rift. i didnt buy the eggs during the event and now im regretting it because i need all the pure rift eggs :/

this glitch has been active since the rift update, and just shows the opposite currency (I think the rift hibernation cave may be showing DC as the currency but I haven't found mine yet 😔). Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I got yesterday an air rift by breeding a fire rift and an air rift, and on a baby park I got a plant rift using a plant rift and a fire rift. So that's possible, but with how much luck... Hope you'll succeed soon

I just bred a Rift Mountain and man, it was wasted completely. Why does the Baby Rift Mountain have rift-i-fied mountains while the adult doesn't. I'm going to babify it. So disappointed, that I actually feel like redoing Rift Mountain.
You may be disappointed with the Rift Lava as well. I got an Earth Lava and the Rift zones on it are the wings and bizzarely the eyes. So they’re not very prominent on the adult dragon.
Some of the dragons (blazing, crystal) are really good but some of them... aren’t. Magnetic has the Rift zone over the yellow in its belly area, but only the top half for some reason. It looks really weird because of this. Sad to hear the Mountain dragon is one of the disappointing ones, it was one I was looking forward to as well.
I just saw Rift Lava in my friend's park and I agree. I was looking forward to it having a riftified lava belly. I'll try to breed a Rift Steel. Hopefully it will have all that cool riftified hair.

I just tried this again today. I have now released two dragons with traits (one today) and the traits showed up on the "Available" list in the Transformation tower when I logged in later.
I would not be surprised if it goes away in the future because it feels counter-intuitive. But it is working for now.
I've finally found my tower! Now I've just got to earn enough Etherium to uncover it...
I wouldn't even bother until you actually need it. Right now it's better to clear empty tiles to get more space for habitats.
If you leave the buildings in the rift, they don't take up any of that valuable real estate.
Whereas I'd say to get it uncovered while you can. otherwise you might find yourself needing the Tower and having to wait to gather E to be able to uncover it.
You can just squish habitats together to use the space you have in the Rift.

Think it also unlocks the trait if you make it into a pedestal as I have flower egg but not rifled dragon and have fire unlocked.

My Rift alignment is Earth today, so I tried Alpenglow with Dark Rift. Out of 4 attempts, received 2 plain Subterraneans, 1 Dark Rift, & an Antumbra. I'm happy!
I definitely have issues understanding these maps. Would someone be so kind as to circle what ether I need to clear on the pic I posted? I'm having a difficult time understanding these graphs:( thank you
Also, I have yet to breed a dragon w a trait that my Rift is aligned with.....my head is legit spinning! I don't know what to breed at this point bc I tried breeding following the steps posted on here but don't get the right traits. Sigh
Please repost your pic or a link to it so I don't have to hunt. There's a lot to comb thru.
The Rift alignment, while necessary for specific breeds, is not a transferable quality. We need to breed for as many variations of each dragon as possible, then only one needs to transmutate to the desired trait for breeding purposes. (eeeee, I hope that's clear, "consternation face")
As as you can see on this page of the Breeding Hints, Antumbra doesn't require a specific Rift alignment. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that first symbol means "any Rift dragon with an Earth trait".

Now that I'm actually paying attention to these rift dragons instead of hoping they just disappear I'm noticing a few things. Like both blightwing and alpenglow have a different traits from their breeding combo. Unlike voltaic, spore, and snowsquall that have the same trait as there breeding combos. Since all 5 are the rifty versions of the house dragons why do blightwing and alpenglow have that extra trait???
Also today I managed to breed a Scorch with a dark trait and a Watch with a light trait both with my voltaic ang blightwing on the light alignment day. They are pretty neat and maybe the reason for not hating the rift as much. I'll post a pic when I come back from work.

It allows you to change the trait on a dragon to another that is unlocked, or unlock a new trait for 10000. So if you have ever bred a smoke with fire and a smoke with water trait, just keep one Smoke dragon and use the tower to switch it between fire and water, as desired
