viviane, Thanks for sharing the combo and alignment! This helps alot!!! I got one but could not remember what I used to try for a pedestal.
I agree with shanda2lee, give me a recipe to follow and I'll get that darn dragon!
I wonder if they will update the rift to go behond what we have so far, so far you can only find the hibernation cave and the transfiguration tower. Alot of the rift dragons are nice looking. I hope maybe they add a new Legandary dragon there.
So far in my rift its a mess, nothing good, I've been seeing normal dragons like glass and howl with traits, some are ugly some are pretty cool. Howl with a trait basicly changes the whole dragon, Crystal with trait changes the crystals. And such.
Btw dont you hate it when you get a dragon with no trait in the rift? I got a rainbow dragon, light dragons, and more in thr rift...

Nice ! I was trying Watch and Ember both fire, While I did get both Shadow and Mirage with Fire trait, but Ghast still eludes me
PS do NOT breed Shadow and Mirage together all I got was a regular Light and 2 Dark no rift traits at all

I was trying to use viviane 's combo and got Ghast first try, yay!! Only I had accidentally used fire Ember and fire Watch! So it ought to work for you, soon I hope.
Whew! I finally got my first rift exclusive dragon today! It was Antumbra and it took twelve tries this afternoon. Gave up with Light Rift and Wind and Light Rift and Voltaic. FInally I got it with Light Rift and Abyss. Gosh I'm happy. One rift exclusive down, the rest to go.

Absolutely not your fault! I don't even remember reading that. 🤓 I only stumbled along with breeding in the original park because of the Sandbox and other players. Players talk about opposites, hybrids, golden hybrids, yada, yada and my eyes glaze over. It was only while creating an egg island in my park this week - Here - that I understand which Golden Hybrid matches up with which regular dragon and only because of laying out the pedestal pattern. Is Bramble really the Golden Hybrid of Nightshade? Why doesn't it have purple and gold swirls? That is going to drive me crazy now!
I did get a Kampos and a Plumewing by accident trying to breed for something else. Ghast is the only new Rift that I actually got while breeding for it! I did breed an intentional Bluefire, finally and that was BFS' fault. As long as BFS doesn't go and do anything stupid like introducing limited time Rift dragons I think I am going to breed like this: Plant Day Alignment breed: Plant+Fire, Plant+Earth, Plant+Cold, etc right down the line until I have one each of every regular dragon as a Rift. Extra traits will just be a bonus. 🎁 Keeping track will be a nightmare. 👻

I literally check out and start hearing the sound used for adults talking in the Charlie Brown cartoons. 😳😳🤔🤕😥 I try really I do even the forum gives way to much info way to fast. I have to go back to the start of the thread and hope that the point form instructions are there. That way someone has told me exactly what to do because recipes I can follow vague theorems I can not, they break my brain 😥😥

thanks for the tip, however I tried breeding malachite (just a plant trait but still) and plant rift together in hopes of getting a Spore, which I missed out on, and I got a plant trait ironwood! And the breeding app says that two opposites, while unlikely, technically can yield either parent as a result. But my strategy to get Ghast will be to use my Thunderbird, since it is also light, dark with a fire trait. I think that's an easier strategy - get Thunderbird first, then Ghast. I'll keep you guys posted how it goes. Today was water alignment for me, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity and I managed to successfully breed Kampos finally! So now I'm just missing Ghast, Lacuna, Viridian, and Zaffer. These will all be hard, and will take awhile, so I'll probably be focusing on clearing enough fog to upgrade and buy as many habitats as I can and then go for these crazy rifters.

N/A, I have to thank you. I had Fire Rift alignment yesterday and followed your Thunderbird advice, and now I have one.
Slowly, slowly catching up...
I'm happy to help! I'm working my way on catching up too. I have kampos, plumewing, Thunderbird, and antumbra (and its pedestal). I have a voltaic pedestal too, I just need the rest of the house mascot rift dragons' pedestals, and spore, viridian, zaffer, and lacuna.
With too much time on my hands and having access to Excel, I decided to see what the final cost (in E) clearing ALL the ether, purchasing and upgrading all 40 habitats to Regal is going to cost: Clearing all the ether: 2,630,950 Habitat purchase and upgrade to Regal: 649,950 Grand Total: 3,280,900. My strategy, Collect from current habitats for 6 days, clear and purchase on the 7th. No more than 4 breeds per day. We'll see where that gets me.

Does unlocking a trait on a dragon in the transfiguration tower open it permanently for all of those dragons? I need a Malachite dragon, with a light trait. Took me forever to get one, and it's earth. At this rate, it may be cheaper to buy it for 10k and focus on other things to breed if it opens light for all future malachites. If I need to eventually breed it for it to permanently unlock, I'll just keep trying.

I guess it did work! If anyone can help me after looking at this I would certainly appreciate it. Guess I'm not spacially oriented. I studied all of the posted pictures but I still can't make heads or tales of what I should clear in the rift. If I hadn't been reading all of the helpful posts here, in order to breed the new dragons, I probably wouldn't have a single one. Thanks!!!!

I can never seem to find the way to get the original quality image off of imgur any more... Anyway. If you can see it, X marks the first spot.
The marked cloud is I believe the one labeled '3' (Not 3T or 3C, just 3) so the steps to check what layout you're on are as follows.
Clear 3, labeled with X. Clear 4, one square further down-left of 3. Clear 5, by turning and clearing the square up-left of 4. Stop when you see a shadow in the clouds. Based on where the shadow is you can tell which layout you're on. There should be one down there as the top left clearing shows you're not on layout 1 or 4.
Once I get more than one of the same dragons with diff traits, can I get rid of of all but one? When I want to use it does that mean I would need to go to the tower to choose what trait or accessory I would like?
