I now have Shadow and Mirage, but with the wrong traits I need. To get my Mirage with water, can I breed Mirage with Water Rift? Just wondering if it is easier since I have one or not? I am not sure since they are opposites.
I also could just use Etherium to change both and just go for Lacuna. 😝 I have 30,000. 🤔

The gate is down. Easiest and simplest is best. Add an additional trait and go for it.
Second thought, Do you have 15 ish habitats and your habitats upgraded, if you don't building the economy is more important for now.
Third thought, well I guess it depends on how important to get them all first is to you.
Conclusion. Idk. Your choice.

Hi Guess I'm on layout 5. I found the cave (5C) but need some help please to find the tower (5T). I will post a picture of my rift and hopefully someone can help this befuddled player find it. Thanks!!!https://imgur.com/dCVnN2R

well looks like my link isn't active...now you know why I used the word befuddled:) Guess I'll try again.
Hope this works and someone can help me find 5T so that I can uncover the tower imgur.com/3EIse40 If not, the picture of my rift is on page 38. OK this is getting confusing and I did have coffee!
*whine* I tried all day for a blue fire/air trait and got TWO no-trait blue fires and one frostfire/air trait (plus a lot of other not-even-close dragons)
Somehow I screwed up and sold a newly hatched dragon that had the Rift element AFTER moving it into my regular park. I thought that the Rift element was the same as a trait, in the beginning. Now I know better. I now sell off my non-Rift version of the dragon.
I consider the rift version of a dragon a different dragon than the non rift one. So if I had a poison rift with fire trait, in my main park, I'd still keep my old plain poison dragon too. The dragonarium is inconsistent with handling these, for example the plant rift dragon is listed as it's own dragon, but the poison rift one shows under plain poison. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets changed sometime soon to add consistency.
Hmm, I don't really think they will, since the rift hybrids are basically recolours/retextures of the existing hybrids, while the elemental rifts are completely new designs.
That being said, I'd love to see some visuals of how the elementals "morphed" into the elemental rifts, to highlight their connection...

Now I’m SOOOO confused and think I really messed up. I bred a bunch of lavas, quakes and others so got rid of all but one of them. If I breed another I sell it. But I’m not seeing the trait of the ones I got rid of show up when I click on the dragon I kept. WHY IS THIS SO CONFUSING?!

You'll see the other traits in the Dragonarium and Transfiguration Tower, but only after you've restarted the game!

So I can sell them right away vs hatching them first? BFS is going to drive me to an insane asylum and no one will know how to help me lol
Congrats! What did you use for Autumbra? What was your rift aligned to? I have so many random dragons all over lol what a mess
Alpenglow and Dark Rift. Rift Alighnment was Earth.
It was the second time the Earth alignment came around. The first time drew total flops. I thought it was going to flop again, but I stuck through spending 1000 Etherium.

There's something both irritating and great about getting an opposite dragon with the right trait, but not the opposite dragon you want! Am I yelling "Oh come on! Light!Ironwood? Ironwood?" to my phone? Yeah. But this is the most fun I've had with breeding in a long time.

Hatch them first, put in storage tower, then sell is what I do to make sure I get the new trait. And, yes, Rion is right, you need to restart your game to see the traits in either the Dragonarium or the Transfiguration Tower.

oldsmol "When I read this I begin to think, the DV have reached a level where it's hard to understand for a foreigner. Do we now have three main different sorts of dragons - and now I don't talk about the different species.
1) normal dragon 2) twin dragon 3) dragon with a special sort of element from the rift
Could you please answer if this is a right conclusion?
I also think I have to save dragons with this special extra element to use them when breeding in the rift. Is that right? How do I see that a dragon has this special extra super plus GT element?"
Q1: the way I think of it ( and the fancy names elude my comprehension, so someone else can insert those if they feel the need 😜) In the Vale there are the 10? single element basic dragons, that we can feed to Elder level, Plant, Earth, Metal etc and they can apparently also be in twin form ( I'm working on that as a slow goal now, for display, elder, baby, twin) There are also hybrids, mixed parentage, of all sorts and different fancy names, if you open your dragonarium to the first page, the groups are listed there. And all of those, if they are breedable ( like Gaia and others in her group are NOT) can have twins, as I understand it.
The Rift is a new world, where only rift dragons can live. Some of them (?all) can cross back into the Vale and live in light or dark rift habitats. At the moment we can breed single element Rift dragons ( Rift fire, Rift water etc, don't know if they will turn into elders if we feed them to L20, ooo exciting!) and we can breed hybrids of those with additional traits, (depending on the daily trait and parent traits) so Rift Lava with an Air trait, for example. No-one has mentioned twins of those yet, so don't know. There are also House Rift dragons, which can be bred with the tips we've been given by the fab Arkynos and sbf, and other clever folk (refer opening post of Rift thread) Don't know if House dragons can be coop bred for twins, no-one has said anything about that, so I'm guessing not.
So, at the end of all my blather, from my knowledge, limited and patchy, your conclusions seem BROADLY correct
Q2 how to see what Rift dragons you have, with their traits; some folk find it easier to use the dragonarium , where the R trait is in a wee box top left for each dragon. I'm still browsing thru my Rift habitats, and keeping notes. Others are using spreadsheets, several have been made available in the Rift thread, if that method suits the way your brain works, best. If you enter the Rift, tap on a habitat you'll see the dragons have a wee circle with their trait inside it as a glyph. If you go to your R breeding cave, you can use that selector to sort what you've got, also
At the moment, the general consensus when starting out is to spend E on habitats, breed R dragons, hatch and put them all in Rhabitats, feed them at least to L4 so you can mix em up for breeding as wide a range of traits as possible. Each day the R is a different trait, so most of us are breeding maybe 3 or 4 dragons, then it gets costly, per day, and putting them in habitats to earn E
There have been greatly helpful steps posted by Arkynos and sbf, for breeding each type of special Rift and House dragons, in the Rift thread, try OP first for links.
Olds I hope this ramble has helped, sorry if not; someone else who thinks differently could maybe post their views of your Q's 🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨🌿🌿🌿🐲🐲

Actually, if you bred a second dragon of something you already have but are now getting anothr trait (chck in the transformation tower) you do not need to hatch it, just release it! You receive some Emoney back and your newly aquired trait will show up on the dragon after you relaunch the game.

Oomagoma. Your in the right place. Right behind your breeding cave. The top corner of your dock space you have cleared one cloud behind the little puffs. Keep clearing two spaces to the southeast. Downward right. Your tower will be there
