If we until after the prize shop is closed to accept the mystery egg, will it maybe give out one of the new dragons? It would be awesome to get my missing Gargoyle or Nesting that way, and I'm not terribly excited about getting a twin or rifty.

I think I'll be saving mine until after the event, so I'll let you know! I don't know if it's possible, but it's worth a try.
You could even potentially save it until next year (I know that seems like a long time to wait, but I still have a snowflake and monolith habitat in my gifts that I haven't used yet). I imagine Nether will get rift traits at some point...
My final Halloween prayers have been answer! On one of the 5,000 Etherium breed, I finally got my Rift Bog! With the metal trait too, even though it feels a bit unfitting, I'll be finally be happy to get at least one trait for my Halloween Dragons!
Now I shall settle down for my normal quest for the Rift Dragon exclusive and the rest of the rift hybrids.
Got very lucky today. I needed 3 more spooky rift eggs to complete my collection of 2 dragons + egg. I got the first two during the first 10 breeds. I hit the 10k cost to breed and still had not gotten the Ortreat egg, and had just enough E to try it one more time (I've never done a 10k breed before). Bingo! Got it on the last try there.
Has anyone else noticed that at reset today the candybash timer was showing one day and one hour? Possibly a UK thing? Fingers crossed it means we can colllect an extra 1000 candy just after reset tomorrow if we’re quick enough!

Wuuutttttttttttttttt??? Here I am having chest pains at using 5k of E and you're going all the way up to 10k. Dang!!!! But I did get my Spectre, so yay!!!!
That dang Lycan will just not come. I did the whole come on L-Y-C-A-N and twice I got Lycan but sadly and very upsetting they weren't traited. Then I say give me a Lycan with a trait and it gives me two lichens with traits!!! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh So now my only hope is to either deplete as much E or try my luck with the the spooky eggs but I need a twin Lycan which I don't have. Sorry wOMantraNOM for those two evergreen and ash twins but I did get a 24 hour timer so maybe we just got twin Lycans!!! I'm prabably try some more midnight chanting and see if I can finally get my Rifted Lycan!!

We here in most of the states still do the Daylight Savings Time nonsense. (This is why I miss living in Arizona. SANITY!) Tonight we “FALL BACK” one hour on the clock. BFS is factoring it in.

i decided to leave all my Plain, Un-Traited on one regular Island and make double courses along the edges of the Gigantic Island of Twins and Traiteds. Final arrangement TBD.

So like Winnifred Sanderson I felt the the icy breath of doom upon my neck and decided that the dragon gods were mad at me since the only dragon I have been able to breed was a nesting. *sigh* I bought the rest of the dragons and all the new stuff plus the nightmare pedestal because that is just a nightmare to get. I now have over 2,000 candies plus what we will collect through the end of the event. Should I buy the new dragon pedestals or try my luck at the spooky mystery egg??

I shorted myself by buying a Mystery Egg, but I don't feel too bad buying the necessary candies for that last Dragon. BFS has given good game. Thanks, BFS!

yes! Twin rifts DO exist, although they cannot be bred at the moment. I don't really understand why BFS choose to set them up like this, but here goes:
We *did* have the spore glitch which allowed twins to be made of spore, plant rift, and metal rift, but BFS has patched that glitch so it won't work anymore.
The only way to get twin rifts now is through event prizes (like we were able to do with the Hall of Hallows for this year's Tails from the Campfire event and get twin rifts of trick/ortreat on day 10, and twin rifts of basically everything else in the spooky category that had Rift traits available on day 20, but only if you already had twin versions of those dragons - hint hint, with it being twin weekend, everyone should definitely get twins of all the winter themed blue border dragons now!! So mistletoe, reindeer, gift, regift, holly, coal, trinket, and perhaps thundersnow, flurry, snowbrush, and maybe icebound) , and via mystery eggs, whenever they are available through events, like the spooky mystery egg, or the rift mystery eggs that are available to buy for E3M in the Rift market. Although magpac is currently far surpassing me in the number of twin rifts he has, since he has all 40 regal rift habitats and buys mystery eggs daily.
Note: since rifts have no incubation time and hatch instantly, there is no way to make a pedestal from twin rifts received via event prizes or mystery eggs at this time. The only exceptions were spore, plant rift, and metal rift, from the aforementioned glitch.

Quick question: if I buy a dragon I already have with candy, will the second one be a twin? I.e. I've already got nightbloom but no twin, if I buy one from the prize shop will it be a twin? Sorry if this is already answered somewhere...

I spent a few dollars to get enough candy to buy a 2nd Mystery Egg - for similar reasons.
At Christmas I may be offline for a week. If so, I am in the fortunate position where I can afford to spend $100 buying event currency if there is an event on. To me it would be worth it since (1) I won't need to stress about missing out while I am on holiday (worth about a zillion dollars) and (2) support a game I have been playing for over 5 years (surely worth a few dollars).
