Dangit. Today I tried mischief and got 2000 Iceberries. But unfortunately, I got the message that Double Weekend has ended and then my game restarted and now my stock is reduced back to 1000.
Ditto. Went out of my way to make sure I was paying attention and in-game and everything (even turned off wifi, since it was flaky where I was right then). Serves me right for actually trying.

I think the only way to get it in the few seconds before we get force restarted would be to save up 1 person's gifts (hopefully they gift you ~2,000 - helps with the arena mini game giving you event tokens as well), and collect that one before it crashes. Worth a try next time at least. I was forced out in under a minute. Hard to earn the max iceberries that quickly.

That's precisely what I did, collect a single person's gift, got the full progress bar and the pop-up saying I'd collected as many berries for the day as I could, and then the berry clean-up pop-up reloaded the game and I had an empty progress bar and the 2k berries were back in my gift menu by the person's name.
I ended up with a LOT of extra iceberries this time. So I upgraded all three of my omnitats. (hopefully I only have three)
oh yea, I meant after upgrading as well. Thankfully I was able to get my 4 omnitats upgraded. And have bought at least 11 lace pedestals to sell. This event was good to me, but I gotta race to finish getting the last few elusive rift limited hybrids.
I'm not going to get close on the rift limited hybrids. And looks like I need to hunt down a 4th omnitat. Because I'm pretty sure I was maxxed on that.
I'm happy with how the event went for me. Everything category is golden in the dragonarium; all omnitats upgraded; up to six food gifts sent daily; and while I haven't achieved completion on the Rifted limiteds I have made good progress towards it. A few of the ones I didn't get will be obtainable early(ish) in the year too.
The missing 12: Nether, Cotton, Mountain Sun, Icy Torrent, Hidden Bolt, Faire, Tidal, Bouquet, Arbor, Sakura, Sumi, Clover. (Plus another 4 in Seraph, Bounteous, Teozinte and Plumpkin, but they weren't breedable.)
85 twins left for Blue Fire. That's the big goal this year. Some simple, some awkward. It's going to be a journey, that's for sure. Here's hoping it's a fun one. And I wish great Koala to everyone here for their endeavours in the year ahead. 😊

Regarding Friend glitches: has anyone received word from BFS as to why some friends on our lists are blacked out for gift-giving? (ie, we can't return gems or food).

The response I got from Backflip was to uninstall Dragonvale (delete the app), sign out of Game Center, Power cycle the device (turn off, wait 60 seconds, turn back on), sign back into Game Center, reinstall DV, power cycle the device once more and launch DV. I had already done all that except for the last step, so I guess I'll try it again. I hate that I wasn't able to return gems to my long-term gem friends during the double iceberry weekend!
EDITED to add that those steps didn't work. This is happening on my new iPhone 8 and 2017 iPad. Interesting, I turned my old iPhone 6 on today (I kept in case I break the new phone, as insurance that I won't break the new phone), and I can see all my friends on my alt game on my old phone. So I guess I'll have to give away gems and treats all on the old device, which is ever so much slower than the nimble new devices. I'm sorry I didn't notice that over the weekend, but at least I can give away one more day of iceberries, unless that device glitches too. EDITED again to say that once I loaded my main game on the old phone, the lost friends stayed lost, and now they are lost again on both my main and alt games. Dang.

I have all the dragons for the first time since playing Dragonvale! I’m ridiculously excited! When I started playing this game, on the advice of some friends, I thought it was going to be dumb. I was so wrong!
I would like to thank those that put their time, effort, gems and cash into figuring everything out and for offering advice. The time it takes to set up and maintain these boards must be tremendous!

I'm sorry that is happening to you. Perhaps it works for my game because I'm on facebook with an android device. I reread the advice from BFS and noticed the game center part. If I remember correctly that is a special thing for IOS users isn't it? Maybe if you email backflip back and let them know you tried their advice with no joy, they might come up with something else? It's not right that you lose your friends for good. There should be something that can be done. At least I hope that is so.

Yes, this. I have had that happen to me. Not logged out of Game Center, because I don't have that, but some how I got tossed out of Facebook, I mean Dragonvale gets disconnected from Facebook. When I log back in all is well. Perhaps that would work?

Now if I can just get past step one and have all the dragons again.
I'm a bit disappointed with my results this event. I got everything that was new, but I spent the vast majority of my time in the rift trying to get a Mistletoe dragon. Breeds up to 10k everyday, and I never received one. My wife had the same issue. I was able to finally get one in a baby park just recently, so I know it exists. I've been playing since day 1, have every dragon and pedestal, but I have to say this was the hardest dragon to get so far in game. That's 14 attempts per day, more then I would normally get in the old days from outside the rift. I'm guessing close to 300 attempts, that's crazy.
