Um...either there is a glitch or they've really changed the meaning of Doubles weekend. Things are yielding double eggs (e.g., getting 4 eggs when collecting DragonCash instead of 2 eggs), but the daily cap is still 1000 eggs. Hopefully this is just a glitch and not a new change...

In the past 4 events, I was never able to breed any event dragon in co-op cave (still co-op breeding a Sleighnball for an egg!). So I guess I have to buy everything this time...

Yeah I already hit my daily limit (at 1000). If this is NOT a glitch, I'm official quitting this game

Unfortunately I think you may be right. I think BFS has come to a conclusion based on faulty logic. The logic goes something like this. DV World doesn't do as well as Dragonvale. DV World is perfect for making money. DV World doesn't have enough players. Dragonworld has lots of players. The only reason DV World doesn't do as well as it could is because it doesn't have as many players as Dragonworld. Therefore let's take the money making aspects of DV World and use them in Dragonvale. This is not a valid argument I think the conclusion is a mix of two types of logical fallacies, hasty generalization and false dichotomy. Too many factors not considered. A good argument can be made that DV World is not anywhere near as successful as Dragonvale because of many choices BFS has made that focuses more on making them money and less on making the game enjoyable and playable without breaking a player's bank. So if you choose, instead of making DV World more fun, to make Dragonworld less fun, it is more likely that you will lose players not that you will make more money. But if you were to focus on fixing DV World instead of breaking Dragonvale, then you would get more players spending adequate and affordable amounts of money on DV World as well as a continued revenue from loyal Dragonvale players. I think that is a more logical conclusion. But that's not the way corporate world thinks nowadays. I wonder how it is all working out for them? Must be working out okay despite the faulty logic or they would stop doing it. Or is that me basing a conclusion on a logical fallacy?

Um, check your collection total for today...i was not able to get double. The arcade game was double, but my total collected was only 1,000.

am I crazy, lol.  The box has the running total and the bar has the daily collection, correct?

The box is in the background because the only way to get a date stamp was to have the doubles weekend countdown timer up.  Imsent in an email to support, somreally hoping I am not crazy, lol.

I didn't like this in DVW, but to incorporate in in dragonvale, takes a lot of enjoyment for me away.

Time to write Backflip and let them know how much they screwed up with this event. Even if the doubles is a bug (and I have my doubts now!), we can't buy the new dragon without spending cash. This is exactly why I quit DV World. I've spent money of DV in the past, but I never felt 'forced' to do so.

I wrote to Backflip asking about the cap and got back an answer that says this is a glitch:
"Thanks for your email! We are aware of the issue with the daily cap and are currently working on a fix. Thanks for your patience while we continue to look into this."

I wonder what's the motivation of this sudden hike of money grabbing tactics in one event. Is it because DV income slowed down so much that BFS has trouble paying their employees and bills? Or is it the CEO thinking "I need a new vacation house in Dubai"?

Ask them if it's also a glitch that the new dragon is limited for 3 days. Maybe it should have been a week so we can all buy it, or its cost is a glitch and should have been in the 5k range.

I can see it now:
"We're going to put this very controversial dragon in place this weekend that people can't get without cash, what can we do to get players to accept it?"
"I know! Lets introduce something worse, call it a glitch, and fix it later that day. Then everyone will be so happy they'll forget about the new dragon costs!"

Yes, I'm too cynical about this issue. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure you cannot get Rosebud from that if you open it right now. You'd have to wait for the event after this one to start.

they will lose half the players in no time. 
Told them exactly that, I will not be forced to spend real money, 
I will do it if I like the game.

this morning in my park: 1) no announcement of doubles day, 2) reached my 1000 (ONLY) egg limit after clearing the rift and a couple other wee chores, and went 'whaaaaaat??' 3) think I'll start borrowing from The Orange One; 'sad' 😈😈😈

then the World View Pollyanna reasserted itself ( default setting I suspect) and 'well there are generally glitches every event, and usually BFS have been very quick to fix, and very generous to compensate players' 
and shall now go walk in the bush with my doglet 😊

So you can just about buy the Rosebud Dragon outright on the cheaper £2.99 currency tier if you didn't take the bait and try breeding with the egg cave. I'd have probably dropped at least that much on the event anyway, but the whole thing leaves a very very bad taste and so I shall vote with my wallet and withhold for now. Let's hope that they give everyone 1000 eggs for the cap screw up and then never try to pull a stunt like this again.

I sent a pleasant email....in keeping with our Kiwi friend's aloha spirit. 😍

The testy email is reserved depending on how they fix the glitch, lol. If they send the extra 1,000 in a gift to our gift menu, we will essentially still lose out on that 1,000 extra we could have collected today because we can only collect 1 day of gifts and the 1,000 from today would have gone in-game. All will be well enough if they send it in-game.

Or, they could gift us the limited dragon. 😳😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I'm so glad that everyone else is as confused as me, or as frustrated as me when you figure out what's up. So I have to have rift Monoliths to breed rifties that are available, but there's no rift Monoliths. Great. And I have to breed the new dragon in the event cave, but they didn't increase the daily cap for the doubles weekend. Great. And my first -and so far only- attempt to breed the event dragon in the rift gave me a Permafrost. Careless of me, to choose a dragon with a cold element to breed with my Rose dragon. Think I'll go do real life for a while, maybe I can be more successful at that.
