I actually had luck with the event breeding den! Not on an event dragon ... but a Tansy, which I did not yet have. Since the Tansy is Mono4 X Cactus and Cumberpatch is Any Mono X Cactus, I said what the heck, let's give the new den a whirl. Boom! Tansy. Nice.
But, I don't think I'll be using it again unless I have a bunch of currency left over at the end of the event. It's just too pricey.

I just have to say how excited and happy I am with this event! 25 days @ 1000 eggs plus a potential (and somewhat standard) 6000 double weekend eggs means that I should be able to purchase the new dragons and peds, and the weekend-limited one in my main park!
I'm just as excited for my new park. It's nothing more than a 'nostalgia park' as such, as it's not linked to anything. It's only on 25, started after the Frostival and since I have pretty much nothing on it, I will find this event difficult. That being said, I am ELATED that Ovalith is a reward again! Being in the first tier means that I will definitely get it as well as the ped. Anything after that is a bonus, really. A strategy that I kind of have is to utilise the Hibernation Cave for any co-op Chrysalis dragons that I fluke-breed, at least until I open up the next tier. After that, I'll grab the habitat and see how the rest goes. I'm not at all confident nor concerned at opening up the latter tiers. I'm just still elated at the availability of Ovalith!

Now that we've got our first rifted gemstone and a facelift to the gemstone island, I wonder if we might eventually be able to level our gemstone dragons up to level 20?
I was thinking Riftalith or Riftolith might be too confusing with the potentially upcoming (🤞Let's hope not for months and months) introduction of rift monolith dragons... But I like Ovarift!! That's what I'm gonna call it at least. Thanks all!

Located all the Hidden Eggs in my park: — 1 Gold Egg: 50 — 2 Green Eggs: 25 each — 3 Blue Eggs: 15 each — 5 Pink Eggs: 5 each (also added to the OP, page 1)
BFS FAQs state that the Gold Egg will sometimes give a special surprise. If someone gets one, kindly let us know what was in it.
I got a twin shining dragon from the gold egg on my main park. I outside of the event dragons, I have all though a lot are currently sleeping. I'm now on the hunt for twins. 😆

You just know they're gonna do it. This is the perfect opportunity for BFS to sneak themselves into a new status quo.
Even if they do this it should be possible to get all the new dragons even if you don't breed any through the cave or coop.
Do not use the cave for breeding. Pick Bilby on the last day. There should be at least 30,000 event currency, possibly 33,000 if there are two double weekends if you max out everyday. Buy Cocoahollow and Cumberpatch at 13,490. Two limited dragons estimated 8,000 each. That leaves 510 or 3,510 event currency left plus whatever we get from the calendar gifts.
This event could be tight if we have to breed the limiteds in the new cave. I really suggest holding off on the new cave and waiting to spend near the end on this event or at least until we see about the limiteds if you want to get all the new dragons.
Once again (the first instance being shield, dracabra, and gargoyle from the limited rifts), BFS has forgotten or overlooked the fact that monolith dragons are required in the breeding combos for Hidden dragons... -So at this time, the only way to get a rift Hidden dragon is via the epic mystery eggs in the rift (purple ones).
Why isn't Dracabra able to be bred when it is available in the rift? The parents are Lycan and Decay. I have both of those rift versions.
I did not think that DVW was so successful that they would apply that model to what is already a long lived successful game! 😧
I quite DVW because of this game model. I will be sooo disappointed if they continue on with this. So as some have said I am going to ignore the breeding island just like I ignore the rift ship. Hate the chest option and am hoping with them trying to use up our eggs in so many ways they will make it possible for us to daily gather all our friend gift eggs with no limit for breeding. That should solve the crashing problem they said was the reason they put limits on before. If we aren’t saving them but using them on breeding.
Enough sour notes. I am just going to play like I have and see what happens. Try to not worry about getting all the dragons if it doesn’t work out. And enjoy the DV community antics. An always pleasant side show to the game.

I can see this being an advantage to newer players -- as long as they keep it as an option, not a requirement. Players who do not already have a lot of the previous years' dragons have a lot higher row to hoe than those of us just looking at the new stuff. This gives another option to try and get a greater proportion of the rewards available without needing as many eggs. The problem being nursery space if the Burcadian space is instant breeding but still needs incubating -- is there some option to discard unwanted results without going to the nursery?
This has probably already been answered, but how do we breed Monolith dragons in the rift? Sorry, work is super-hectic and I can't keep up with anything anymore. Got a double rainbow with cold trait in the rift yesterday in my son's baby game while trying for Aquamarine. That was fun, but I feel like I should be going for the event dragons in that game, I just don't have enough brain bandwidth to figure out what dragons he needs to go for what and all I can think is that I want to try for rift Monolith dragons everywhere.

Not only are they not breedable due to the 'need 2 monoliths to get a monolith' thing, but they're not trait enabled at all. Neither are the Chrysalis dragons which were also expected as an Easter Rift release. The whole situation boggles the mind.

regarding rifty hidden dragons... the other possibility is that breeding hidden dragons doesn't necessarily require a monolith parent in the rift, because its weird or glitched or whatever. we've seen some other cases where rift breeding resulted in a dragon which shouldn't have been possible.
but i wouldn't expect that, and i sure as heck don't know how to exploit it.

What if you can't buy the dragons next event, but only breed them in the special cave? That's just one more step away. I'm guessing that they're looking at the DV World game and seeing it's perfect for making them money but doesn't have enough players. So here's DV with enough players...I just hope they don't break their own successful game. There's a reason DV World doesn't do as well.

I called it. That is so gross. It's only breedable in the eggs cave and you cannot buy it outright unless you spend real money.
