it'd be super-nice if they comp'd us some sorry-eggs, but really... its fixed after 3 hours, so almost 21 hours to collect another 1000 eggs, at double-time? i gotta say that's fair. and i have 40 rift islands in little zz-top beards singin' "gimme all your lovin'" hah, and now that's stuck in your head, too. no givebacks.

Party hatting will help with the shortfall if you went on collecting past the glitched limit in the sense of 'community egg spirit' 😈 And I've not checked this, but possibly shorter food growing/harvesting cycles? I don't know if you earn less eggs for lower expense food types.... And just collect the friend gift eggs, we can't use the over the paltry limit ones anyway unless we work out another pedestal rort....

My sense is that since the Om of Noms, when the average amount of event currency for food was (appropriately) quite high, it's really plummeted since then. Seems like every time I watch, I only get 0-1 farms giving eggs (or whatever), and that's when collecting for the first time of the day. It used to be a lot more often - easily 2-4 farms for the first hit of the day, and it would take a few rounds in quick succession to go to zero. I grow Sargin Peppers - maybe something longer or more expensive would give better averages, but it's never worked like that before.

You need to wait until a dragon is breedable. If the limited would have been available to breed in our caves and the rift, it would have worked as an unowned gift and be available via mystery eggs. This limited is only available through the new cave. I would be a little more patient. There are reports of people already trying and they did not get Rosebud. It *might* work after the dragon is expired, but I am not sure.
That was nice of Backflip to give us the additional 1,250 eggs (an interesting amount). So assuming a player maxes out everyday (and hasn't spent any), that means they'd have 8,400 eggs at some point on Sunday/Monday. Rosebud costs 7,660, so in theory a player could try two Event Cave breedings (500 eggs) and still have enough to buy Rosebud if necessary, right?

Crisis averted. But I still hate that I have to buy a weekend dragon.
It's basically a tradition for limited event dragons to be breedable in the normal caves and even the rift. No longer, I guess. I wouldn't be surprised if this will be true for all future events from now on.

According to my calculations, assuming one hasn't spent any eggs yet, we'll be just over 500 eggs short for buying the limited.
So, IF you're an end-stage player and weren't going to need much in the market beyond the new dragons, and IF you're unwilling to spend real money to get the extra eggs, and IF they don't give us 500 eggs for the screw-up with the cap, THEN there's an argument that you could try up to 28 times to breed the Rosebud and be no worse off for it, because you weren't going to be able to use those 7000 eggs to buy the limited dragon at the end of the event anyway - they'd basically just be going for cash, and you're going to have to get Rosebud by some other means regardless.
Of course, they will undoubtedly be tracking usage of the Burcadian cave, so aside from the angry emails, the most effective thing to do is probably to boycott the cave altogether. If some people get angry but enough players fall into the gambling trap and spend money, BFS still comes out ahead (in the short-term, at least); if most people don't bite, then there's no incentive to do this again because they just made people mad AND they didn't make any money.
The sad thing is, I'm guessing those special eggs they sold back during the Winter event (3 for $4.99 with a decent chance of getting an event egg or three) were at least somewhat successful, because a whole lot of people here bought them, including myself, and we all had a good time with them - the risks were reasonable, and they weren't forced. This is a much more mean-spirited attempt to get people to spend. Come on, Backflip, you're better than this!
Ahhh I wish I'd checked the forum before breeding for the rosebud dragon! I merely did the calculations and found I'd be short and unable to buy it, so I tried the breeding cave multiple times, and am left with 450 beans...Should've known better with my typical breeding luck, and wish I'd just boycotted it and ignored the "Gotta Catch 'Em All" urge. Really unhappy with this change...I miss them letting us breed for limiteds in the regular caves, and haven't liked the other small stingy changes they've been making lately...

With the new surprise gift possibility from the daily hidden Gold egg, I wanted to reshare a tip given to me many events ago by SteelBluminati Confirmed, the mod formerly known as steelbluefire 😁.
He suggested I fill empty all space with cubes & create an open area all the gifts/ flag bearers congregate. You can easily place multiple Cubes by tapping your finger repeatedly in a couple of sweet spots. Either the middle of a habitat or large decoration (small ones make it easy to tap the cube so you lay and destroy over and over 🤦🏻♀️), or around the perimeter of the island not to the outside rim but just slightly to the inside of the island rim where the ground meets the side .
Testing it out will help you find just the right spot so that you can repeatedly tap & the cubes are laid out filling all empty space. I found that I can change where the Cubes are being placed just by moving to a new spot and tapping so the Cubes fill in where I want them. If you are new at this you may find it easier to let the Cubes fill all empty spaces (no you don’t have to move any decorations) then pick the space you want to clear Cubes from for your egg/flag bearer gathering place. You do not have to destroy you Island layout for this.
A couple of things to know.
1. Your visitors will often stand beside each other in a tightly packed constantly shifting group. I find that if I tap on the pile a couple of times I will still be able to gather flag bearers or gifts as they shift to the front.
2. The Cubes are easily ALL cleared at the end of an event with the ‘Clear All Cube’ option so no tedious removal just to enjoy your clear islands again.
3. I sometimes will have large clear areas with some decorations in the space so if I can’t see that one last decoration I use the ‘edit path option. it’s usually behind one of those decorations or a space I left open by mistake behind a building.
4. When you lay out the Cubes you will see visitors or flag bearers walking through them but don’t worry. When you are done and restart your game the filled space is now respected by those nosy visitors! If a visitor shows up somewhere else it usually indicates an open space that needs a cube.
Hope this helps all those who like me don’t have the patience or maybe just the time to search but want to find everything. Especially those now important Gold eggs.
