I'm not happy with this sudden change in tact from BFS. Instead of being able to just breed current limiteds with regular caves, they're only giving the chance in a special event cave that costs the event currency. There's already not enough event currency to be earned to get the dragons on offer, but now they've taken away our chance to even get lucky and breed those instead. By now, I'd be out of gems when I'm trying to breed the limiteds, but there's no reason to.

I got lucky and got one today:


It does cap at level 10, and earns 1.5x so the max is 15 E an hour. That's a little sad, as technically this dragon will be the worst earner we have once everything is leveled, but I'm not putting it in storage!

Also, just as outside the rift, this dragon can not breed in the rift cave either.

Tried the special egg cave once, and got a Seasonal dragon. Spent $5 so I know I’ll have enough eggs to purchase Rosebud if I can’t coop breed one.

I’ve tried so many times in coop for rosebud w zero luck. Tried the cave and wasted eggs. Grrrr

Someone on the Wiki asked what happens if you move Ovarift to the main Park. A good question, one which had not occured to me.😆 Moved mine to the Gemstone Island and it now earns 1 gem per week, like a normal Ovalith/gemstone type. 

I like that better than the E.

How am I meant to breed my first chrysalis-habitat dragons? Each of these dragons seem to require each other to be bred...

Hi michou, 
yep I'm pretty sure your first one is bought with eggs, and if I recall correctly chrysalis was the optimal one for then breeding the others, but check the sandbox
and of course you can try to coop breed your first if you prefer

Like Kiwichris said, you need to buy them first, I'm afraid. If you can't clone them off a friend you'll need to buy 4 to get the set: Three of the first set (Chrysalis, Swallowtail, Marbletail, Lacewing, and Duskwing) and one of the second (Glowwing and Starwing).

You also need to be careful which you get in the first set as some combinations won't allow you to get the last one. In the order I've got the first set written in (and imagine it loops back round to Chrysalis after Duskwing), DO NOT get three in a row or the combos won't work out.

If you don't want to work it out, Chrysalis/Marbletail/Duskwing would personally be my favoured combination.

Hi everyone, I have quit Dragonvale. Apologies to my gem-friends, some of whom are on this forum. The current meta requires multiple daily logins, and . I just don't want to be so tied down to my phone any more.

I started playing a month after the game came out. But the last few months since the Rift came out have felt like a chore rather than a game, and I can't continue. I leave with fond memories of this forum! And with 11 billion dragoncash, 250 million treats, 3500 gems, maxed islands and so on.

On my lvl 25 baby park, I bred my Spirit (log in gift!) with a friend's level 10 Swallowtail and got the amazing 41hr 20min timer!
It will go in the Hibernation Cave, along with any other Chrysalis dragons that I fluke, until I open the next tier and can get a habitat.

I fear my daughter will be quitting soon also. Connecting with Facebook instead of GameCenter just makes it too difficult and time-consuming. It's a GAME; we want to have FUN.

Did anyone else have their game(s) not reset yesterday? My rift breeding stayed where I left off instead of going back to 1. I thought I could work around it, but I have NO SPINS and NO DRAGON DROP either!

My game reset as normal yesterday, but today my Sundial of Surprise will not. We should be on day four of the daily gifts, correct?

My sundial did not reset either, though I can collect eggs for the day again. It's likely related to daylight savings time changes, and I expect it won't reset for another 45 minutes. If it doesn't then, it bugged out for the day. I'll hold off logging in my alt park until after the next hour, and see if that works correctly.

My timer on the sundial is 23+ hours 😓. I sent in an email, though it won't be seen until tomorrow probably.

On anhappier note. Inbred CELTIC in the rift! I used Lycan and Storm and on my last 5,000 breed, I got it! Yay!

Kiwi Chris- what did you use to breed a rosebud? We usually have the same issues breeding during events lol
