I dunno. I think if you go back you'll hear complaints about the events at the beginning every time so far. Even last event, we thought there would be NO WAY -- but I ended up with everything I wanted and eggs left over. So I'm withholding judgement until I see how the play works out.

I’ve just had a message that the double stardust day is over and they were ‘cleaning the rest away ‘ 1 hour 20 minutes into the 24 hour period, and I hadn’t even got started on collecting anything

Ignore my earlier musings about using hib caves as banks to sell unwanted dragons the next day for Dust; tried it in the Rift today w yesterday's surplus and got no Dust for any; so it appears to be Dust only earned for hatching.😟 Haven't tested it yet this am in the Vale, will do and report back 👣👣👣 nope nada Dust in Vale for sale of surplus dragons either. Sad. Was thinking this event might be a way to sell the seconds once the twin had been bred as a replacement, and gain some benefit despite feeding up seconds dragons in meantime.... Sigh.

Maybe they've had so many 'whaa?' grumbles that they let the Lightning dragons out for demolition work and are doing a frantic rebuild with Elysium, given what Mysfortune and Portent hatched 😈
I did see the lightning dragons had gotten into the server room again. (No doubt they were looking for snacks, and it’s just shocking what the beasts will eat). I also have 3,146,000 DC cash from BFS in my gift menu. Since 3146 is approximately the amount I had collected in that park, I suspect this is just a glitch, and BFS will correct the problem. Have already sent them a support request.

I am afraid to log out for fear of losing everything I gained today. It would be quite a waste since I used a bit of etherium breeding in the rift and also hatched all 5 dragons I had been saving in the nursery since yesterday afternoon. Can't get that back if BFS decides to just reset everything. But since it didn't happen to you maybe I will try logging out and in. This event annoying.

You may be confused.
We can collect 1,000 per day, unless we have doubles, then it’s 2,000, or triplets would be 3,000.
BFS gave us a gift of 500 on day one. This is extra EC that does not get doubled, nor count towards the daily max. Same holds true for any EC purchased with real money
Thus, total max EC that can have been collected by end of day today is 3,500. Tomorrow you will be able collect another 1,000 (or 2,000 if double)

I've seen a lot of complaints about this event, and the direction Backflip is taking possibly due to Hasbro holding the reins. Part of me feels this way too, but then I also think maybe we're just looking at it wrong.
In the past, they've released new Galaxy dragons with no event. Just a notification that new dragons are available and we all have to scramble to find friends who somehow started a new game with the dragons, cloned them, and put them up in their parks. Those without friends had to wait for the daily login to get to 'Galaxy Egg' before getting just one of them.
This time they put a small event around it instead of doing that. Sure there are no games, only one way to earn currency, and not a lot 'new' other than the 2 dragons and a new habitat for them. But this is much more than we got in the past for this type of release, and gives us a way to get at least one of the dragons and hopefully have better chances of finding friends with the other. If the choice is a small event that they can put together quickly vs nothing at all, I prefer these small events.
The only thing I'm really unhappy about with the event is that releasing and selling dragons does not give the same amount of currency as hatching and selling. That's a pain, and we should be asking for it to be changed.
During the last event, I got everything without spending a penny. That doesn't sound like a greedy parent company running things to me. I'm also not buying that breeding odds are significantly lowered. I'm still managing every dragon release in my main park, such as misfortune, but it requires a lot of luck and some gem hurrying. Years ago, I had several dragons (especially monthly gem/crystalline) that I tried for every day, lots of speed ups, and only got one the final day by using 500+ gems in speeding things along. Missing occasional ones was common for most people, and you grab them during BeB or mystery eggs.
I've played games that were run by teams who only cared about the income, had terrible to no support, and threw 'buy me now' messages at the players constantly. I still play some of those games. DV is not like that, you can tell their support staff cares, they get back to me very quickly and generally go out of their way to help. The game gets constant updates to keep it fresh, and you can still get everything without spending a cent - though it may take longer. I just wanted to keep things in perspective about how really good this game and support team are for all of us, I haven't found anything better in the mobile world.

So I bought one too, paired it with yours Noodles, and now I have a beautiful egg waiting to be hatched. Sorry it wasn't a twin. Cloning just took two tries, very short firet fail.
Can someone jog my memory? If I decide to skip getting the 5th Galaxy Island, does it become available during BEB? With a Wish? If so, I may just take a pass as I’d rather have the habitats. Even with the two new Galaxy dragons it is possible to display one of each with just the four current Islands. Decisions, decisions...
Don’t forget to collect your two free chests each day. So far I have bought 6 of the pieces for Stage 1. Still have the two 1000 essence and the two 1750 essence to be able to move on to Stage 2.
