I just bought a Sandscale with tickets and it does have a blue hourglass. :-(
There's no green hourglass on its icon in the Dragonarium, but there's a blue one as part of its card. I'm guessing the lack of the green one is the mistake. Have they ever given us a dragon that we couldn't breed during an event but which was freely available after it?
As per the Sandbox, it is breedable in the rift, but the rift must be aligned to Light. I bought one andam pairing it with Arid, however t is only now that I noted the the rift must be aligned to Light. So, will try again tomorrow.

There is no breeding hint on it though, so you can't truly 'breed' it, it must be cloned within the rift with one as a parent. Don't think cloning every has requirements on the second dragon or the alignment, I'm guessing the sandbox just added light as a requirement since it was a light rift dragon. Certainly can't hurt to set it though.
This is not my event, through distraction and/or connection issues (my end, not game AFAIK) I keep managing to not buy limiteds before they cycle out. Gwar... lol
Doh - the new Sandscale is a rift dragon and can't be cloned OR bred. There's no breeding hint, and the Dragonarium says it can only be bought with tickets.
And save those tickets for Abraxas because it is the same (rift traited, and can't be bred).

Oh no, don't tell me that. How stupid of me. I did look at the sandbox and when I checked exclude dartwing as a parent and unchecked rift breeding it gave me matches, usually when it's not available for breeding it says cannot breed at this time. I thought I understood that meant it was available to breed. Oh well,that was quite a waste of gems.
Aarrgghh sympathies!😱 i have found there is sometimes a lag with the sandbox refreshing and recalculating after I change the parameters, so I hit the refresh button to make sure it's showing accurate results...
sympathies as well. its been said that there are only two hard problems in programming -- naming things, and cache invalidation.
i'm going to see if changing some steps in the rebuild script will help avoid this.

If it is a rift exclusive, you can't get the dragon thru the coop cave. You can send a rift traited dragon over to your park or breed in the coop cave to get the regular version if the dragon has a non traited version. Example: I got 3 Tidepool rifted dragons from my first three breeds yesterday. I sent 2 over to the vale and got the non traited version. I also put one of the traited ones in the coop cave and got the twin version of the non traited Tidepool.

Thanks Amos. I was wondering as I saw a Sandscole in the coop, but in fact it won't produce anythng even with another of its kind.
I figured people put the Sandscale in the co-op for two reasons: 1) In the hope that just maybe it would be different and it could be breed in the co-op and 2) so that their friends could use it in the Challenge Tent and maybe they'd get some extra tickets that way.

yes, I got my sandscale dupe in the rift today by breeding sandscale+tidepool.

I got a rift version in the rift with plant and water rift dragons and it was set to light.
