So what is everyone spending their event currency on? Trying to decide if I should buy more Surface habitats (have 3 so far) or waste currency on more Rifted Chrysalis dragons.
I gave my DV playing GF a 3 pack of $10.00 Apple gift cards for her b-day* and she gave me one back! (I know, how sweet 😘). I used that card to buy 3K of Magic**, and I ended up w/over 35K of Magic.
1. I got a needed Eve w/the Day 25 Random Surface and bought a needed Sprite. That left me needing only the Kaiju (which, at this time, is still not available in the Wishing Well...).
2. Bought Eve & Sprite Peds.
3. Then I bought 4 Surface Habitats and put them, along with my 4 Omnitats on an empty Island.
4. Bought a Chryslis, Lacewing & Duskwing, giving me 2 of each kind of Chrysalis Dragons.
5. Bought an Apocalypse Theme.
*I gave her other stuff too...
**Ever since the introduction of the Rift, I have refused to make any in-app, DV purchases. I know, I know, I just violated my own policy. Even though It was I who originally bought the Gift Cards, I was somehow able to (selfishly 🤑) justify apending that $10.00 gift card on Magic by considering it a gift given to me. I feel very guilty...😱
I hate to have this big of a whine, but I feel that this event warrants one, so here goes: After careful consideration and much reflection, I am not a fan of this event. I feel like it would be one thing to -require us to (“just”) breed a certain dragon, or -to offer up dragons that we already own to get rid of (“donate”), without the DC/E3M they earn, but to force us to breed all new, very rare dragons, some of which require over a day’s time in breeding/incubation, is just not fair - especially in such bulk requests. Having 3-5 epic types on any board is really almost cruel to newer players, and difficult or time consuming for even us veteran players. Of course I’ve been kicking myself over clearing some of the twins I had in my social menu that could have definitely contributed towards many boards, although thankfully I still had quite a few valuable ones and even got some from the rift mystery eggs throughout the event. But how could the newer players, or the ones who don’t speed breed for blue fire, or buy mystery eggs from the Rift, come up with enough dragons/magic to complete this event? Also, I was confident that I would be getting multiples of each dragon if I bought enough of those stinkin Surface mystery eggs, so I did not buy Kaiju, and I thought I’d have a chance even to get him from the CBC if not from the mystery eggs. I’ve bought 13-15 Surface mystery eggs, and have been breeding with an Elder Fire or Dark dragon with a friend’s lvl 20 Kaiju for the entire event, and still have not gotten a single Kaiju. I think I’ve received 4-5 Sumis, which I feel shouldn’t even be an option from this mystery egg - they just changed its typing and threw in a dragon that I think a lot of players already had (if not before the event, they definitely do now!). Also, why make the newest epic type habitats count toward our habitat limit, and hold only 2 dragons? Ugh 😑😔🤦♂️ I’m annoyed with the cost of this event. I’ve spent more gems (I know, of my own choice - no one forced me) on this event than on any other I think, and I don’t even have every dragon from it. Lastly, the thing that really spurred this rant: In every other event, in the daily calendar thing that provides dragon type _x_ for you to get a free one, it has always been coded as we get to choose which dragon of that category that we want. This has been one of the first events I’ve seen that, instead of allowing us to choose, they just gave us another Surface mystery egg. And so of course I got another Sumi, and no Kaiju. Sorry for the rant, but I’m just very frustrated by this event, mostly because I worked so hard to try to get as many mystery eggs as I could, because I wanted to get the regular, twin, twin rift versions of the event dragons, but not one Kaiju in 13-15 eggs seems like a rip off, along with how I feel the breeding odds must have changed during this event. Overall, D- for this event. No extra credit will allow it to pass in my book.
I guess BFS heard my rant, or took pity on my nearly futile attempts at clearing 3 more boards and spending even more mon-er, gems, on getting enough magic to get my final Surface mystery egg, because guess what was in it? Sumi. Just kidding.
KAIJU!! Finally. So even though I’m missing it as a twin, and rifts for Kaiju and Totem, I’ll be breathing red fire again in less than a day. Just in time for another dragon to be released. Haha. 💁♂️

Could you let us know tomorrow if your visions in game are still available? I was wondering if tying the visions to event currency would stop them from removing visions from everyone who makes purchases. I'd like to be able to occasionally spend 5-10 again in the future.
Let us know if you still have visions available from the colosseum, the visiting ship, and the market after a day, they usually disappear next day.
The only extra vision this morning was the second one from T'shen. The other three, which you could collect consecutively during the event, are no longer there.

Event gets a F in my book. Time consuming, futile, annoying and I feel treated like dirt. It’s like they are laughing at us, cackling suckers. Not the way you want your most loyal players, influencers and whales to feel. A disaster at every level. Game director has to go. Everything in 2018 has sucked.
1. Burcadian breeding cave 2. Treasure regal eggs. 3. Insane odds for completing rift galaxy eggs set 4. Chromacorn odds 5. Stupid 7 epic cards that don’t revert to something easier 6. Failure to chose final dragon in events 7. Screwing rainbow players by increasing the giant habitat size to 7x7, only marginally increasing habitat capacity and only allowing 3 dragons for 100 gems. And making it washed out and ugly.

In terms of getting the new dragons, things turned out okay. Since I was able to breed most of them, the only things to spend my painfully acquired magic on were the surface habs (yes, you CAN have too many of those in terms of space, hab limits, and dragons to fill them) and the chrysalis mystery eggs... so in the end, amassing a collection of rifted Marbletail dragons left a bad taste in my mouth, considering how much I blew through in etherium (and donated dragons I didn't have in my rift) and gems to get them. I am done with gambling on mystery eggs.
Basically ignored most of this event, especially with the impossible bingo cards.
Managed to breed all the dragons, get 4 Surface Habitats, get 2 Apoc themes, upgrade my last two Omnitats to large, and buy a couple of Chrysalis eggs.
Would have enjoyed the event more if the bingo cards were possible most days, and if the final giftery gift was a dragon of our choice.
Best dragon to use w someone’s Kaiju in coop? I can’t get that blue dragon for the life of me. This event goes down as worst event in Vale history!
I used a L20 Steam with someone's L20 Kaiju - worked on the first try (but not the second ) But it happened on the last day, so wondering if BFS goosed the odds.

Well, after the ‘official’ end of the event, Kaiju WAS available in the Wishing Well so I snapped it right up! I’m once again, to quote Elvis, “justa hunka, hunka, Burnin’ Love” and as Johnny Cash sang “...and I it burns, burns, burns, a Ring of 🔥, a Ring of 🔥.” 😆. Finally, I can relax again. 🐨🐨🐨🐨🐨. We’ll se how long it lasts...

Acquiring quite the pile of cash to short HAS stock when the time is right. Maybe they will decide to listen to their players and then I would use the cash in the game. I am not holding my breath.
In better news... because I have not done a purchase in months, after the event I still have the Tolzar balloon/airship showing up with freebies and for the first time got a Gem through the Treasure offering. Also being offered two extra Gems (beside the 5) in the Colosseum for watching an ad.

I haven't made a purchase in months either, and have all the extra visions to get gems. I know I've written them 2-3 times this year asking about the absurdity of the purchases removing free gems. Has anyone else sent them emails too? My tactic now is to send them an email saying I'd like to make a purchase, but don't want to lose the visions, so please let me know when it's safe to buy from you!

Wow! I would think just the opposite...that they would be grateful and show their gratitude by giving extra stuff to those who made purchases 🤔 ...strange...

Pretty much this, for me the event was a non-event. Picked up an Apoc theme. Didn't buy any dragons. Bred a standard of all 5 Surfaces, and also Rift Kaiju and Totem. Chrysalis eggs were kind to me, I got 6/7 with only a couple of doubles. They still shouldn't have been on the event currency as all of the other Awkward-Rifties have been buyable with Etherium.
Didn't buy any Surface habitats due to the counting towards the cap thing. They're now in the market for 75 gems, so I grabbed 3 now. Capacity of 2 is not particularly efficient when the habitat cap is considered.
Bingo was impractical to complete on the majority of cards. My luck was such that it didn't particularly matter, but I would have annoyed if it had. I quite like the dragons: I've never touched DVW so the designs are all new to me, and I think they're fairly good, especially Kaiju. I think overall that evens out into an enthusiastic "Meh."
This year seems to have a bit of a theme - the events (and I'm including Chromacorn time and the BeB here) seem to consist of experiments to try and find the most profitable structure for DV going forward. I'm not sure they've hit on the ideal form yet and am more than a little worried that the missteps are scaring off what remains of a playerbase already divided by the Rift's introduction.
Sorry kiwi but I foresee this replacing the airships permanently. Too many major changes to buttons for just an event. It will remain.
No, nO, NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT! If they do this it is because they want to kill the game. Consider the consequences: They make the cards a permanent fixture. Every player starts hoarding their gifted twins hoping they will be needed on a card. Everyone’s social menu is overflowing with hundreds of twins. Game crashes and server problems are baked in the cake. Players abandon the game in droves. Hasbro uses that as an excuse to pull the app. HAS retools the app and introduces: LittlestPetShopVale or MyLittlePonyVale Wouldn’t take much to gin up doggie, kitty, or pony artwork. All other coding is done. They now have another vehicle to push their plastic toys which is their real business. One need only look at what HAS did with Supercell and Space Ape Games to greater monetize Transformers.
I think they are trying to kill this game, that is my theory. Been thinking that for quite a while now. Why else would they release rift dragons in such a stupid way, in bulk. Would so not have done that this way if I owned the game. Looks to me like they are delibaretly trying to make us hate the game. And it’s working. Does not make me want to buy anything from them, will just rather delete the app. All games are becoming like this, just check out GTA Online, exactly the same. If they have the game hard enough then people will cave in and just buy the game currency. I am never ever resorting to that. And don’t get me started on my other theories, that they are working with Apple and Microsoft to make the game bigger and bigger so we buy new devices ha ha.😈
