Thought I would make quick work of a box requesting IRON. Thought IRON+IRON would give my a quick 4 hour completion. Nope, 22 hour SCORIA fail!
EDIT: And before any of you terminal ‘look on the bright side’ peeps say: “At least it wasn’t a 1 day 22 hour Bronze!” ... zip it! 😂😂😂
EDIT AGAIN: FYI: I paid my dues with this event with a GOLD, two PLATINUMS, and a SILVER. 😭
Whereas I'm trying to get a Scoria using one plus whatever the sandbox suggested and I'm getting Iron after Iron after Iron. Pity we can't trade.
I know what you mean. I liked this idea a little at first, but to keep getting dragon A as fails for a dragon B that you normally see a lot, and then when you move on to the next card and suddenly dragon B starts showing up over and over when you need dragon A... meanwhile you are wasting all your etherium and regular breeding caves on what should be an easy dragon, well, it's...no fun. It's not the reason I liked playing this game. Challenge, okay. Patience for an assured reward, okay. Frustration and throwing resources into a gambling pit, no please.
And now Oracle costs even more than Kaiju. It might be okay if they just let us choose which surface dragon we want for the last gift, but after the Regal fiasco I have no doubt I will get one I don't need at all. Both thumbs down on this one.
Ok, my third card (takes me the whole allocated time to complete one) and I have Galaxy, sun, Apoc, dream and Olympus...so doesn't seem linked to how many you complete in a day/time period, but more the actual number you complete at all... So I'll carry o n breeding for dragons I'm missing, and if fails happen to earn me some squares on whatever card is up, well and good So underwhelmed with this idea of an event; was momentarily excited with the challenges of finding multi-element result pairings, but that fun is dissipated with epics turning up in such numbers in one card... Sad 👿
That's exactly my new card except for Galaxy, they won't ask for a Galaxy because I have several of them still sitting in my social menu from galaxy eggs of mystery I bought. Instead they want a silver. They never ask for anything I have. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, well actually I guess I am, but still, it's a conspiracy I tell ya. And wicked petty too. I mean I have 2 rain dragons so they ask for a fog. Come on. Gimme a break. Would it kill ya to let it be a rain dragon if you want air and water? It seems ridiculous to imagine there's some kind of program that knows exactly what dragons people have available to hatch when they send out a card. I think it's nothing like that at all. I think they have a shrink ray and as soon as you finish a card they quickly shrink a staff person, code them into a radio signal and send them to spy. There's no other answer. It's too coincidental that they never ask for a dragon you already have and I don't believe in coincidences. I do however believe in shrink rays that can shrink humans and code them into radio signals.
i've seen one dragon on a card which i was able to donate from gifts (steam, as i recall). but with over 400 dragons in the game, i can see that being a rarity.
however, all the epics are making card completion a serious drag. i mean, i get it. the only outside focus group backflip can get on short notice is the GMHIG (gunbarrel masochists and horsewhipping interest group), BUT REALLY.
I got the specific Olympus dragon, the Sun and the Treasure, I'm getting the Dream just before expiry, still trying for the Rainbow, have probably got the Galaxy, but am out of breeding sites and time for the Apocalypse. They've practically held me back from other breeding.

We probably did the first cards too fast.
Although first I was under the impression the progression was easy -> harder -> hard. NOT impossible.

Unbelievable! I got the Oracle in the COOP on my 1st try w/my Cotton + a Friend’s Plains, both Level 20.
That will help my strategy going on, which will be: 1) Collect & Save all the Magic Points I can. 2) Use my day 25 freebie pick to get the Random Surface pick. 3) Depending on how many Points I have by the end of the Event, spend them on any needed Surface Dragons. 4) Use as many of my 3 Wishes as necessary to get any Outstanding Surface Dragons and not worry too much about the Bingo Cards...simple huh 🤔
I only need 205 more ‘doughnuts’ for the T’shen (SP?), so, by the end of this event, I should be burnin’ again 😎

Annnnd.......another POTM (especially the last 2 sentences). If nothing else, this event has produced some great POTM nominees.

Click on that sun symbol and choose the "hint". Option, t is free. There you will see all the dragons suitable to fulfll the request, and it tells you if available or not.

I've disliked all of the 2018 events, and they all have one thing in common. They're all luck based. Lucky players who gamble on the eggs, or get their breeds, come out way ahead. Unlucky players get left behind, often feeling miserable about the event. And now we're hit with unlucky breed attempts, unlucky cards with Epics, unlucky duplicates on our 'free dragon' at the end of the calendar. I miss the old events where if everything went wrong, when you got nothing bred, you could still come out with all the new dragons. They always gave us enough currency to get them if we played. Then if you got lucky, you would get the dragons x2, eggs, decorations, extra habitats, and currency left over for treats or gold.
This is the first event I am not participating in. I don’t have time to log in multiple times a day and refuse to deplete my resources. I noticed that the dragons on my bingo card are Rift dragons that are in my storage (minus the epics). I would need to move the dragon out, feed him and then breed. I’m really down on the direction BFS seems to be headed. Not sure how much longer I’m going to stick around if this is the nonsense they’re pulling.

just FYI, the hint is only free if you have already bred 2-3 of that specific dragon, or have unlocked the breeding hint with gems. My secondary park never bred a Gold Oly (or Snowy Gold Oly, I forget which), and it did not show the hint for that dragon.
On a semi-related note: did anyone else notice the (I’m assuming) change to Solarflare’s breeding hint? It now just reads “Solarflare = Solarflare”.... haha. Bizarre. I know it’s a free gift for reaching lvl 100 and all, but the breeding still works like any other galaxy dragon.

Kiwichris , One card a day seems the way to go. Seems they set this up like the Airships where the more you give, the more they want. Going to focus on my redecorating and if this game continues to be a cascading avalanche of disappointment when I complete my park overhaul, I will just delete the app as I did with DV World.
I don't want to get you sucked back into DVW, but... I have been able to breed the regular and enchanted of all the dragons for awhile! It is actually more fun than DV as of late because I can ACTUALLY breed the dragons AND you don't have to feel like you need to check in every few hours to have success. Wow, I didn't think I would ever say that, but Chromacorn or rather the lack of tipped me over the edge. I spent every single day of BEB trying for that one with leveled up dragons without success. Boo! And this current event...refer back to my grinch picture. Ha! Also the etherium limits on habitats in DV makes you feel like you need to check in way more often than I care or want to for continued expansion and success in the rift.
Now since we don't want BFS to know that DVW has been fun this message will need to self-destruct after it is read. 😉

Seriously, I wonder if this is a strategy or side-strategy after $making, to see what it would take, or to see if they can, push folk back to the ailing DVW!? Like you amos , I 'fled' there from the last event on DV, and am still enjoying playing there at weekends, for some success in breeding! Huh I may need to join cynmed 's CC (conspiracy club) 😳😏

Claiming the possibility of teeny tiny microscopic sized computer geeks being shot through radio waves into the internet to engage in nefarious plots to control the random portion of the game such as sorting out what dragon eggs are available in parks before sending out cards for this event is not really attracting members to the club. Perhaps this theory is difficult to accept?
Can it really be called a club with a membership of one? If you join that makes 2.
Perhaps the issue isn't an unbelievable premise, maybe the problem is the first rule of Conspiracy Club, which is YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT CONSPIRACY CLUB. Hard to get members that way.

My 1st one had a rainbow dragon, sun, moon, galaxy, rainbow (element), treasure & Olympus- I sat out the 3 days, now I’ve got a double rainbow and all the same epic requirements! !
At least I’ve been successful with breeding some event dragons (first event for a while mind you!). I’ve snagged 2 Kairus, and an Oracle, rift Oracle and rifty Oracle egg so far.
I like the event concept, but the impossible bingo cards are just silly. I shall ignore them and focus on breeding dragons 🐉
