Good gawd, posting as a guest backfired - it was way more time consuming than just taking a second to sign in, lol! It's been a while, glad my password was saved.
We've been having wifi issues (including no service for almost 2 months. ugh), so I haven't been keeping up with my game as much, or with the forum. I think we should be okay long enough for me to finish out this event. I hope.
I guess I've been doing okay with this event. Kinda. But, overall, I am really not impressed with the changes to past few events- what little I saw of them. I did breed the turtle and clone the shark from the last event, so that was good. I love the turtle guy.
This time, I've managed to breed a rifted Chimneypuff and a regular Chitlin, so Yay! But those stupid, gem-sucking decos are *killing* me. What a dumb concept. Well... it's short-term good for the people trying to extract all the money from your pocket, but a dumb, raw deal for the customers. Anyhoo, I only need the green wrath tendril to complete that set and have gotten soooooo many repeats (just like everyone else and their missing pieces). It's infuriating. The flames and fans aren't going as well, only have 3 or 4 of each of those and, at this point, am having problems even caring about that. I do wnt to finish the tendrils since I'm so close.
I refuse to spend money on more gems to play Dragon Drop in the hopes of hitting the chest, and then hoping it's not another 3 repeats (which, it will be). And all the times I've paid the 5 gems for another round and there was no chest to be won. Grrrrrr. It's gambling. I had no problem supporting the game before, when it was straight-forward purchases to get the dragon or item I wanted ... but things have changed. Dumping money into an RNG is Fudge. From here on out, each day I'm only going to spend the gems I earned that day, and that is it.
Frustration levels are running high. I just need a purple ornament to finish the bone evolution, spent 100+ gems trying to get more attempts and I just watch the ball bounce away from the chest at the last minute time and time again. Why do they think this is fun? I was so low on gems after their last terrible events, speeding up breeding attempts and getting absolutely nothing the entire time. It's like they want us to leave!
Edit: Another 50 gems and I got the purple ornament, and the Porcelain dragon. It looks like you can make as many more as you want for 1000 candy (and a bone dragon). I thought I was done with the day time chests, but it appears that 5 colors for Flames only show in the day, and 5 at night. During all that time I got 3 flames, still missing 2 daylight flames. Ug!
Any tips on getting the purple porcelain guys.. . Low on gems!

Buying the chest in the market with candies worked for me when I was down to needing one last token. The chests in the the market seem to be slightly weighted to not being a duplicate, though I did get 1 duplicate before getting the last piece I needed in the next chest... koala!
Whoa. I just bought an epic egg of mystery and it was my missing second Chromacorn. That TOTALLY makes up for me not having the winning lottery ticket.

Ditto with Amaranthia’s post that if you are short of the last few ornaments/tendrils/flames, would suggest that you go for the chest in the market. I got the last tendril that way and the last 3 flames by buying a few chests. Spending 5 gems for extra spins or drops resulted only in frustration for me as I slowly drained away my gem reserves but got loads of duplicates.
I normally spend £9.99 or more per event on event currency but this event really annoyed me. Blew over 1500 gems (earned; playing DV since the start) and used my last wish but flat out refused to spend real money. Have them all now but gosh the aggravation this event generated! It should be more fun than this!

YAY! I finally completed the Tendrils! Don’t have any idea which dragon those transform but I’ll figure it out. Strange that those were the ones I started out not being able to get at the beginning. Still need the Purple Porcelain and three of the Flames. Have not been getting any Flames in any Chests for days now. Did someone turn them off? You guys getting Flames still? Lots and lots of duplicates, I have saved them all and may be able to fill up an entire Island by the end of this. Is anyone getting a free Chest from Whitbee? I have found him virtually every time and have never been gifted a Chest. What a cheapskate!

You have to be in your Rift. Go to Market and click on Dragons. Mystery Eggs are first on the list.
Not that anyone asked, or cares for that matter, to my recollection BFS has never asked my opinion about anything, but I don't want a ghostly version of all dragons. I am full up with twin versions and rifted versions already. Speaking of rifted and full up, why bother with so many attractive rifted versions with no way to display a goodly percentage of them. The poor things are all cramped together out sight in some dark and dreary hibernation cave. That's no way to treat a dragon!
FREE THE RIFTED DRAGONS now!!
And before you make more versions of tons of dragons with no place to let them roam free fix the rift issue. And have a plan for displaying new versions of dragons.
If you keep this trend going 75% of our dragons will be hidden dragons...literally.
OMG since ghostly version of everything seems to be on the way, that brings me exactly to this question, where am I supposed to put them? Either I need all my islands changed into Gargantuan islands or I need more boosts. Where am I supposed to put dragons that earn almost nothing?
This is worse than the Rift, they really don’t think anything through do they? Just keep splashing out dragons left and right and everything will be fine, pffffff
I agree with everyone above - if you’re only missing one or two decos, go for the chest in the market. I got the last two tendrils I needed that way.
I just get duplicates from the Chests in the Market so I gave up.
Same here. Lucked out in my main park and finished everything that way. Doesn’t matter what I try in my extra park, just can’t get the last two flames. After about 1300 gems spent there, I have basically just given up. Seems like the game has just made up its mind about that park not getting the last dragon. Seriously unfair bullshit.

This is a bad joke. I can’t even collect all of the tendrils or flames yet alone breed a Chiton or Chromacorn. I’ve bought 8 chests and EVERY one was a duplicate. I need a red tendril which seems impossible. 1100 gems I’ve wasted on trying for ornaments. Grrrr
