The golden chest in the drop game is a summoning chest. Meaning you get 3 summoning materials from it. Paying 5 gems for a play gives you a guaranteed chest on the board.
So your performance this event is pretty much determined by how well you do at the stupid drop game. After so many months of practice, I'm pretty much a grandmaster, so there's that.
Guaranteed a Chest on the board but not guaranteed you’ll land on the Chest... at least in my park. So they are really pushing the gambling aspect. Looks like Dragon Drop resets every 6 hours.
Attention to all park visitors.. If you have a dragon diet witchery degree please report to the nearest treat farm. Muggles with a veterinarian diabetes prevention background are also welcome... I mean... did you look at the size of that candy flying across the screen...

Fingers crossed this event is more treats than tricks! Thanks for pulling all this info together. This forum is now my first stop too before logging in to new events.
Just let me know anything else I screwed up. I can’t believe there is no gifting friends which means no stashing 1000 extra Candies! Party hats give no Candy. What about the newer players? When did BFS hire Scrooge?
There should still be the 15 bean bonus for getting gold from the co-op quest. If you receive 67 of those, you'll have your 1000 extra.

I got 9 chests (3 duplicates) playing with gems. It’s a better use of gems vs speeding up breeding since we can’t breed new dragons.
That falling rain is killing my eyes, so I immediately removed it... to find out that when I re-log in ... it is back!!!! I do not understand how we are supposed to access those new dragons as they are all greyed our, are we supposed to buy a mystery thing before and this will unleash some dragon to be avalable ?
Do we know what the heck rituals are, lol? It said to check breeding tips, but breeding tips say you have to perform the correct ritual. My brain misses the uncomplicated events of the past, lol. 😂😂
Yes please explain! I get that you obtain the summoning pieces via the chests. I'm lost after that.
You need a certain amount of summoning pieces to to gain access to the new dragons, but is that in addition to having a love, bone, or chomacorn dragon? they've gotten quite elaborate with this event!
From what I can tell, based on the breeding hints, we need to collect all of the ornaments/flames/tendrils plus have the required dragon before we can buy the dragon from the event shop. So, for Corrupticorn, we need to collect at least one of each of the pink, white, red, yellow, black, purple, green, teal, blue, and orange flames, plus have a Chromacorn. Then we can buy the Corrupticorn from the shop for 1,000 candies. I tried buying it without having the flames and the game won't let me (I have the Chromacorn). So I'm thinking that how this summoning ritual is working (no idea how it impacts cloning).
Or rather than a "new" dragon, do you think the Corrupticorn is just a new look for the Chromacorn dragon? Would you need two Chromacorn dragons if you wanted to have both a Chromacorn and Corrupticorn dragon in your park at the same time?
For the Summon Chests, did you get one or three pieces in the chest? The gold chests in the drop game have three chests, so potentially someone could get three items each time.
As others have mentioned, it's possible to get duplicate ornaments/flames/tendrils. The one chest I got had two green flames in it. So it looks like this is going to be a long process to collect the ornaments/flames/tendrils (either via getting the chest in the drop game or by buying the Summoning Chests in the shop).

You're not limited to the golden chests for getting the Flames of Corruption and whatever the other two things are - you can buy Summoning Chests in the market for 855 each. There are three dragons, each needing 10 of its special thingie (one of each color, presumably), and it looks like each of the 2 chests (day/night) has 15 of the 30 possible color combos. So it looks like we'll be buying a lot of chests to get all 30. 😧
Plus there's the dragon needed - I don't know about anyone else, but I barely have one Chromacorn in each park, so unless I'm really lucky In breeding for it, I'll have to buy another Chromacorn for 10k to summon the Corrupticorn. At first blush, the math in this event is looking pretty dire...
...Though the Corrupticorn itself is listed at a mere 1000 candies. Whisky-tango-foxtrot?

You can earn 50 candies by watching each vision. Whitbee gave me 25 candies. As for the pumpkins, not sure how many I found, maybe 5, before the border changed. Thank you Cyn for getting things together so quickly!

It looks like you can also buy chests for summoning items for 855 candies. You’ll always get corruption items, I’m guessing, but only porcelain in the day chest and wrath in the nigh chest, which switches every 6 hrs.
Found Whitbee for 25 Candy. Found a few different sized Pumpkins and it seems they are all giving 10 Candy each although I could be wrong. I had the Forum open on my iPad and the game open on my iPhone in order to get the thread up and running. Between the flying gigantic Candy, the flying cherrios, and the huge rain droplets, I now have vertigo. If anyone gets a proper Pumpkin count, please let me know.
The summoning chest will give you a flame or ornament decoration. In order to appreciate what these do, you have to understand how the new dragons works.
We'll use Corrupticorn as an example. It's a new dragon that costs 1000 candy. But you can not just buy it, it's locked until you perform the correct 'ritual'. If you go find your Chromacorn dragon, it has an 'Evolve!' button on him now. He requires 10 unique flame decorations to unlock the evolution, which then costs 1000 candy. When you do get all 10 decorations and evolve, you lose your Chromacorn and get the new dragon. This is sad for me, as I only have 1 Chromacorn. Time to try breeding more. Your dragonarium will still show you own a Chromacorn, even though it's now gone.
The Bone dragon will evolve into Porcelain - requiring 10 unique ornament decorations, 1000 candy, and a bone dragon. Love evolves into Wrath, requiring 10 Tendrils (I'm not sure what these are, probably the nighttime version of the ornaments/flames). Night time will occur every 6 hours in game, regardless of the Twilight Tower.
Those chests for sale for 855 candy, they get you one of the decorations for that time period. That's a terrible way to earn them though, as that's 1 per day roughly, uses all your candy, and you'll probably get duplicates. Your best bet is the dragon drop game, the chests there give 3 decorations. Spending 5 gems gets you an additional try with 1 guaranteed chest. Get lucky, and get 3 for every 5 gems. Get unlucky and miss it, and get 0 chests for 100s of gems. It's not clear yet if the night time gives out the Tendril decorations during the game or not, we will find out this evening.

I think they think it will have pushed us too far to make the dragon exorbitant after we use candies to buy those chests.
So, for Corrupticorn, we need to collect at least one of each of the pink, white, red, yellow, black, purple, green, teal, blue, and orange flames, plus have a Chromacorn. If that's true, and you merely have to have one in the park (rather than having to give it up to be converted to something else), then that's a big help. Kind of adds insult to injury to make you pay 1000 more on top of that, though. 😐
They sure could have done a better job of explaining all this...
Also of note, the rumor is that selling duplicate ornaments will give you candy that doesn't count towards the cap (or maybe you need to be capped first). If someone confirms this, let us know!

I just tried it... I had already reached my cap and selling added 50 candy to my total.
imhave also been using gems to get more chances at the chest, and finally got a full set of the Ornaments of Porcelain. I evolved one of my Bone dragons, which became a Porcelain Dragon. I used a rift version of bone and the rift trait stuck after conversion. I also had all of the decorations still.

In the instructions I was directed to the Mausoleum Colosseum and step by step led through it however, the instructions covered up the Filter buttons of Friends Dragon selection. I was forced to select an unfiltered Friends Dragon. I could not Filter for Friends Dragon. I was unable to get get out of that instruction selection until I gave it the go-ahead...a wasted selection. First selection will not get max Candies and I must wait more than 3 hours for another chance. This was obviously not tested prior to the release...way to go BFS...very poor QC.

ARRGGG! You are correct, the rain is stalking us! Really, BFS?!? How many players with older tech need to turn that off just to keep the game from crashing? Get it fixed now! Do not let that go through the entire weekend or the entire event or I will not be responsible for my actions.

I just tried it too...sold a dupe piece and now i have 1250 candy.
But, if you have to evolve a given dragon...does that mean we need a 2nd chromacorn, or we would loose the original?!?
I'm glad the rifted trait sticks...that is cool.

So, you need the required dragons, plus the items and the 1,000 candies to evolve. After that you'll have the new dragon, but not the original dragon. So, if a player wanted to have both a Chromacorn and Corrupticorn dragon, they'll need two Chromacorn dragons to start with.
Are the items consumed? Meaning if you wanted a second Corrupticorn, you'll need another set of the items, plus the Chromacorn dragon and 1,000 candies, right?
