They are simply ruining this game we have loved for years, that is really sad. I am seriously thinking about quitting, this game has just turned into mad money grab, over the top, nu rules, gambling bullshit, I can find that elsewhere if I choose to. Used to be a relaxing game, not so much anymore.
Don’t cry, I hope you get some of the Ghostlies. Even though they are making it as impossible as they can, since we have to have two of everything now to get anything as it seems. At least different Ghostlies can breed if anything is available. Still think that is a crappy rule to enforce, like in the old days, when you had to have two of each dragon.
I don’t like what this game is turning into and frankly it just puts me more in a bad mood these days, than anything else. Why bother playing then? That is a good question.

For me, BFS has until the end of the year to straighten out the mess they’ve made before I delete the app entirely.
For those upset with the direction that the game has taken recently, make sure you're contacting Backflip and letting them know your concerns. Be polite, but really drive your point across to them. It may not make any difference, but if enough people do it then maybe it will. I've enjoyed this game enough over the years that I'll give it a little fight before watching it just sink.

At this point we need a internet wide petition lol. It seems like they really don't care for individual opinions anymore, instead just give a slightly modified generic response. It's cause the player base is so much larger than forums and internet communities like this. Despite the enraged veterans, the revenue must be flowing so from a business standpoint they don't really care anymore...…..unless it is brought to the public spotlight in a big way. That's what gets the PR team for these big companies panicking. Hey atleast they're giving us new creative content minus this whole ghost thing lol

Commiserations All, but if anyone is still interested ... this morning I bred two Rift Aurochs and one non-Rift Auroch using Fire and Nether; two on one park and one on the other. I was trying for a Double Rainbow which seems to be an impossibility for me, when I hit on this combo. Koalas all.
I have been struggling with whether or not to get involved with the Eff dragon thing at all. I had decided I wouldn't but then I was feeling left out so I purchased the fire effigy just to dip my toe in the Effing waters so to speak, but once you have one Eff you might as well go all the Effing way. Especially since you can't really do much with just one ghostly primary dragon. So now I have all 3 available Effs and their primary ghostly dragons and I am breeding for whichever ghostlies I can (only ghostly bone so far, with which I can do nothing). Considering the exorbitant cost in candies to purchase these ghostly dragons, breeding is the only reasonable option. However, these ethereal dragons belong to an ever increasing group found in the Vale as of late that I refer to as Unicorns. I am still trying for the aptly named chromacorn so I can evolve one and have been for the entire event. But that's not the only dragon as rare as a unicorn. There's a plethora of them and the interesting thing is any dragon, even one previously as plentiful as kangaroos in Australia, can become a unicorn.
I wanted to just let this Effing stuff go but apparently I am more of a completionist than I realized, so that's not a comfortable option for me. Maybe completionist isn't the right terminology for my playing style because I have noticed that for me it's more about the journey than the destination. I have tried to not get involved in certain things that displease me so I can continue playing and not be annoyed, such as this Eff dragon debacle, but it's just not a good solution for me. I do see the benefit in not getting caught up trying to breed every dragon and buy every available doodad but I need to believe I will eventually over time and without spending any real money (this is a relatively recent requirement since I was happy to spend before) and without depleting all my resources be able to acquire everything. Whether that actually happens or not is not as important as my believing it will. So for me I can't say I won't get involved in new stuff as it is introduced. I wanted to be that person who could do that, but I'm not. However, I think I've found a comfortable way to stay in the game and not be annoyed all the time. Fingers crossed it works long term. I can see the possible holes, like if BFS keeps making more unicorns than dragons.

Thank goodness! They swapped the Drop and the Wheel again...The Drop is now on at Night. Started trying for that (final) Green Tendril and what-do-you-know? Got it after about 30 Gems! Evolved one of my Loves. Also got a Ghostly Lava. Still short 9 (mostly Ghostly) Dragons though...talk about stressed 😩. What ever became of that relaxing, non-competitive game we used to know?

So I was up to having spent about 40-55 gems with no luck and than I finally got a chest. I clicked on one in the middle to start opening them and my game crashed! When it started back up I looked everywhere and my hard won chest was not anywhere to be found. My gems were also all still gone. This all happened at 10:52 MDT.
I'm so frustrated! I guess there really is no winning in this game.

So, I'd been trying this event without spending gems or event currency 'til near the end, to see what I could achieve without squandering resources. It didn't help that I rarely ever even saw chests appear in the free plays of the minigames, and even then could not consistently win them. Whitbee gave me a grand total of two despite me hounding him daily, and his usual reaction was to flick his grubby old change in my direction instead. So, I had thirteen decorations total, of seven different types and colours, when playing without loading my gems and beans into the standard-issue Haz(ard)Bro SMG to fire directly into their ravenous vault.
I decided it'd irk me to come out of the event with nothing, so I went ahead and played with gems, and over 1000 gems later, after two days with gem drop on day and night cycles, I am now missing only the red tendril of wrath. I received so many duplicates while trying--plus, evidently my luck is more precious and tender and special than should even be allowed, as I managed to fit in the 1% chance of no chest appearing numerous times, so I'm done.
In other news, failed to breed anything I need in the Rift, as usual...still missing numerous rift versions of dragons that were reasonably possible to obtain during their original release...
In other other news, I didn't enjoy "evolving" (translation of euphemism: MURDERING) my extra earth and cold dragons in order to ooh and ah at their dead non corporeal selves. Poor blighters. The wish to achieve basic completion is no longer strong enough to supersede disinterest in unappealing ideas and designs. Won't be buying the third effigy.
In summary, this was a truly vampiric event, but I'd rather They were normal vampires that sucked blood instead of fun and currency.

A miracle has occurred: the Day 20 chest gave me the green tendril I was missing. I was stunned.
So I have a Wrath now and am 3 short of the fans, and 2 short of the flames. If the Drop hadn't switched to night, I would probably give those missing fans a run, but think I will just stay satisfied with having collected one of the 3 dragons. Need to start bulding my gems back up.
Breeding for ghostly hybrids is not going well. Using both the coop and the EBI, I have only gotten one (G.Bone). Edit: just got 2 G.Obsidian in a row in the EBI.
I have the three primary element ghostly dragons. I was able to get the two fire/earth ones that initially were out, but have failed everything with cold. Going in all 3 nurseries, I think my park is broken. So many dragons with such high fail rates and short availability is not my happy place.

Nothing about this event was easy. I am also having a hard time breeding the ghostlies. Luckily I wasn't counting on ending this event with all of the new dragons. That kind of gameplay is long gone for me....and I'm good with it!
