Oh my gosh, you guys! I am feeling a bit dumb. I have been trying and trying to breed a Rifted Leaf in the Rift - so that I can then have a RIfted whatever-you-get-with-Leaf dragon.
Well I just realised that Leaf's can't have traits! At least my Dragonarium doesn't think they can.
WHY?!?!
Why are 1/2 the seasonal rifted and 1/2 not? Sprout is but Seed isn't. Berry (and Bog is) is but Bogberry isn't. And none of the new Seasonal/HIdden are rifted except Aubergine?!?!
WHY??
Side Note: How long has there been a search bar in the Dragonarium? When I go into any of the "subcategories", there is a search bar at the top. Cool.

Leaf is Rifted! A recent update made the symbol confusing - it's not showing up at all if you don't have any traits for that dragon.
The only things that aren't Rifted now are Legendaries/Mythicals, the Vale Primary dragons, and Ghostlies.

They're all riftable, both Leaf and Seed and all the new ones. What are you looking at which makes you think they aren't? It the new little badges they put on the dragon icon to show how many more traits you still need? Those badges only show up once you have a rift version, So, for example, one of my parks doesn't have rift Leaf or Seed, and the badges aren't on the icon, but when I look on the full entry in the Dragonarium it shows "Available Traits" - they're just all dark since I don't have any of them. Is that what you see?
Since we have seraph in the limited section, does anyone think that the next dragon to be evolvable will be seraph? I've been working on trying to breed myself an extra one just in case.
Is the Aubergine still available or did it expire? It’s not in the Event Prizes but in the Dragonairium it’s Limited Hourglass is Green.
Does anyone think BFS is using our Wish Lists? The reason I ask is because at the start of this event, I only had 1 Seed Dragon and needed 2 in order to Evolve the Karroot & Visalia without giving up my Seed. I had been trying for that Rift Berry and 2 Seeds since the beginning of this event. Yesterday, I got 2 Seeds within 2 minutes of each other; on the Island w/a Ghostly Cold & Nectar and in the Cave w/a Candescent & Lagoon, all Level 20s.
Augerbine is available to evolve if you have the decoration, a lvl 20 rifty berry dragon, 6 jelly plants ready to be harvested, an it’s raining. The reason it was “limited” was if you wanted to purchase one for Spice in the market instead of evolving a rift berry.

Yes. I would have assumed that the grey icon would appear on any dragon that could be rifted. I figured if it wasn’t there, no rifting. Thanks for clarification!

Side note, what’s the best treat to grow to maximize the treat yield for the least amount of DC? Is it the carrots?
Technically yes the meta-carotene or carrots are 24:1. But they take 3 hr and yield 1.2M. I’m sticking with figs for volume reasons. In 6 hr I’ll have roughly 3x the food vs carrots. I’m trying to plough through 75B. After the figs expire meta carotene will be my go to food.
Well super technically the jellies are 8:1 but they yield a piddling 12K food and you have to click every hour. Guess it depends how much dc you have.

While I appreciate your optimism, I think that many on this board have also played for years and understand the long game aspect. But there is no doubt these recent events have been different from ones in the past, and frustrating for many of us. It took me years to finally get my dragonarium to breathe fire, even if it was for a short time! And I’ve played the events and have felt okay with maybe not getting all the dragons.
But this event has me down, as it’s not even possible for me to even attempt to get breed or evolve a dragon, cause I don’t have the monument and don’t have a wish ready to go. And I don’t spend real money on games.
I’m all for the long game, been doing it for a while now. But DragonVale has changed with these events, and it’s been more about trying to jump through almost impossible hoops just to have a chance to breed or get a dragon. (After countless tries, I wasn’t even able to breed a chromacorn, let alone evolve it!) And we really don’t know if all these recent event dragons will be available in the bring em back event, either. Overall, maybe you’re right in the sense that this new DragonVale may not be the game for us anymore.
I totally understand your frustration with getting the dragonarium to finally breathe fire. It took me years to get mine to do this, and it was also only for a brief time. Ever since Hasbro bought Backflip this game has changed and, I agree, not for the better. Especially not concerning the events. My biggest frustration is, despite all these new dragons being introduced, there has been no increase in levels and therefore, no new habitats. Finding room for all these dragons has really been a problem! I wish you luck with this event and breeding.

I have evolved all dragons, but I am currency poor now. 😏 I bet there will be another limited show up soon.

Well that triggered my paranoia:) I have evolved 4 dragons and sold 2 decos but I still need the onion. I wish they would release the next and hopefully last limited so I know where I stand.
I am keeping them all, and paranoid that I am....I am trying to breed extras of all the Ornamental and Snowflake dragons just in case....better get on trying to get a dupe Seraph...had not thought about the possibility of that having to be evolved, lol.

I just got a chromacorn from a mystery egg and what do I do with it? I don’t have the pedestal yet and I already have both chromacorn and corrupticorn. Should I hatch it or make it into a pedestal?

Somehow I missed the start of this event and when I joined, I had lost 10 days! I was surprised to see that the community dragon event bar was half way. Based on past events, that would mean the community prize had been won once already. Each day I max out my spice easily within two rounds of collection. After a few days I realised that the community bar wasn't moving... In past events, when you maxed out on your daily amount, any further spice you collected still went into the community dragon event. This one, I now realise, stops putting spice into the community collection as soon as you max out. How on earth are we ever going to collect enough for the community dragon prize if the max we each contribute stops when we hit our daily max?!? Since Hasbro bought Dragonvale I have enjoyed it less and less, their greed is killing the game. As someone who has played it since pretty much near the start I am bitterly disappointed in the recent events and I am closer and closer to quitting! Shame on you Hasbro for spoiling my one guilty pleasure!

No! this is the first community egg that's slowly grinding along the bar.
This event has been far more difficult for folk to achieve the daily limit, but if/when we do, the extra DOES go towards the community prize.
Perhaps if we don't completely fill the bar by the end of the event, we will be rewarded with a half-size dragon.
