Turns out that even though it’s annoying to have to use my device’s battery and my time to watch advertisements, it’s more annoying not to have the choice...

I thought so too and then I found it, not after the Gems but all the way at the end of the line.

On the vision topic, I bought the cheapest amount (like 2 dollars) during the last event on my alt account so that I would be able to get one last dragon to clone with my main park. I spend nothing on my main park these days. In prior events, you could still watch the visions from Tolzar for the extra currency. With this new event, that option is now gone for parks who spent money and Tolzar is just not there at all. That's a loss of 150 to 300 on doubles spice every single day, which is a little under 5000 spice lost for making one small purchase. That's 15 dollars worth of free spice lost for making a 2 dollar purchase that has a value of 560 spice.
Worse decision BFS has ever made with purchases. You not only lose free gems, you now actually lose currency!
Weird - I made a little purchase recently and am still getting Tolzar Spice. I would have thought that would be the intended behaviour as that's the way it has been previously, so maybe it's a problem specifically with your park. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

I made a purchase during this event and still get Tolzar every day.

Maybe the difference is I made the purchase last event, on the final day, and the 6 weeks goes into this current event today. Perhaps it's not an issue if you make the purchase in the current event, and it's messed up and didn't reset with the new event. For those who made purchases, are you getting the 2 gems for the colosseum every day too, and the vision in the marketplace for a gem? Those are also still gone on my account that made a purchase.

Side note, what’s the best treat to grow to maximize the treat yield for the least amount of DC? Is it the carrots?
Technically yes the meta-carotene or carrots are 24:1. But they take 3 hr and yield 1.2M. I’m sticking with figs for volume reasons. In 6 hr I’ll have roughly 3x the food vs carrots. I’m trying to plough through 75B. After the figs expire meta carotene will be my go to food.
Well super technically the jellies are 8:1 but they yield a piddling 12K food and you have to click every hour. Guess it depends how much dc you have.

I am keeping them all, and paranoid that I am....I am trying to breed extras of all the Ornamental and Snowflake dragons just in case....better get on trying to get a dupe Seraph...had not thought about the possibility of that having to be evolved, lol.
I am fairly certain this event gameplay won’t return. This is why:
I was able to get Rift versions of all 5 dragons, breed regular versions of all 5 dragons, breed all 5 pedestals and knock out a few twins since I had extra twin versions that I used to evolve. Yeah this won’t happen again. 😉

well, while I agree this event was relatively on the easy side for veterans, it was not particularly kind to newer players. For anyone who didn’t have both the relic and monument of the epics, along with the weather station, it forced them to use wishes and/or spend Spice on those items before they could evolve the required dragons, although I suppose someone could have gotten away with not having the weather station and evolve Augerbine on one of the rainy days.
I wonder if we will see a use for any of the treat decorations that aren’t required to evolve a dragon, like the pepper decoration. I’m not bothering with them, as they aren’t showing up in my dragonarium at this time and BEB is right around the corner, so I’m gonna focus on getting that very expensive extra treat farm. Right now I have all the event dragons (a rift and a twin), I’m 4 twin dragons away from having my blue fire back, and 25 rift versions left until I have rift versions of all the dragons (which of course means that we will be getting like 10 new dragons for the Frostival event).

Good to know that I'm not going crazy. I was discussing this on reddit, and was slammed by people who say they make purchases all the time and have all visions available. They were telling me my parks were broken and to contact support, but every time I've contacted Backflip about this issue they've responded telling me that it's working as intended and I'm not supposed to get visions because of my purchases.
It's hard to get information out of those folks, but so far those saying that they still have visions are all on Android. I wonder if this is just an iOS thing. Or maybe Hasbro started posting there because I made it very public that people shouldn't spend money without knowing how many gems and event currency they will lose.

Any idea about when the vault of abundance will be available? Will that appear in the prizes and/or become un-greyed out in the market? It has not become available yet, correct?
GACK! How did I miss the fact that the event dragons are riftable? They do not have the Rift symbol so I thought you could not get them in the Rift. Guess the symbol just means breedable in the Rift. Running 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️ off to catch up!

the most recent update to the app has removed the rift symbol next to a dragon in the dragonarium if you don’t have any rift traits unlocked for that particular dragon, but all dragons are rifty-able except for the basic primary elementals, the ghostlys, and the legendaries/Mythics. So you can evolve an already rifty seed/sprout/leaf/berry into one of the new event dragons; you’re just not able to get them in the rift as an outcome unless you use one of them as a parent in the breeding combo. The hourglass (green vs. grey) is still a good indication of whether a dragon is able to be bred in the Rift (without using it as a parent in the breeding combo).

But it takes a tanker sized boatload of food (350m) to get the five dragons to 18 and twenty. Or a whole lot of ether

Thx. It worked. I got a chromacorn and made it into a pedestal. Thanks again!Hatch it, then breed it with the other one to get the egg.
