I’ve managed to lose all my friends (got a new iPhone & my son thought he was being helpful by updating the email address on Game Centre.. Woosh - all gone 🙁 Tried changing it back to no avail) & you were one of my gift exchanging friends. My id is baldyB 13 & although you & 6 others (not sure if they’re on here) still appear in my gift list & can still send gifts, I’m unable to reciprocate. It’s all very confusing!! I’m hoping to go to an Apple store when I get chance & hopefully it can be sorted but in the meantime, sorry to you & anyone else who recognise my id & are no longer receiving gifts.

Your GameCenter (GC) friends are not lost when you log out and use a new email address, they will be saved to the old email address account. I often log out of one and use another to access multiple alt accounts from the same device. Each GC email is associated to a GC name. It is possible that you were using a different email address than you realized, as your email address is not displayed on the GC settings page on your phone. Only the name is displayed.

When you went back to your old GC email, did the name change to the name you expected? If not, you should try another email address that may have been used originally.

You both can easily friend each other with the new in-game friending. No need of Game center any more.
Then baldyb13 can gift gems to Lady Redwolf withouf problems (I hope so)

Thanks Quil for your advice but I think I’m a lost cause! I don’t know if it makes a difference that I originally signed up to GC & DragonVale on an ancient iPad using a pretty obsolete email. In fact I’ve not been able to play DV on that device for ages but not sure why (I tell you, I’m hopeless!). I’ve since played on an iPhone 5 & have just got an iPad 4 not a new phone as I stated earlier. When my son changed the email he also changed my nickname but I’m still showing as my original baldyB 13 to friends (thanks Lady Redwolf!) BUT when I sign in on my phone it welcomes me with my new nickname. If I try my original one it says already in use but won’t recognise my old email unless I’m being incredibly dim - which is highly possible!!

no it's not complicated, I promise
open the game
open the social menu
tap on "invite friends"
you get to a window where your own friend id is shown
it consists of a name (default name is "DragonVale") a # and a number 123456
note your number to tell it to Lady Redwolf
then tap on "add friend"
you will be asked to enter the friend id of Lady Redwolf
again the name is filled by default with "Dragonvale"
the friend id of Lady Redwolf is Kai#9961
so tap on DragonVale and delete and replace it with Kai
then tap on the field to the right and give in 9961
finally press "add"
a message "contacting server" will appear
followed by a message that your friend request is noted but that Lady Redwolf has to friend you too.
Tell Lady Redwolf your own friend number
when she adds you, you will be friends via DV itself without facebook or game center.
And you will be able to gift gems to her.
You can post your friend id here to make more friends.

It is a good thing (but not necessary at all) to change the own friend id from DragonVale#12345 to MyOwnName#1234.
that makes it easier for your friends to recognize you between all the other Dragonvale#123456
To change your own friend id
go to the social menu
tap "invite friends"
tap "change friend id"
tap on Dragonvale and replace it with the name you want
tap "change"
This can be done once for free, later on it will cost gems.
when you change your friend name, the number will also change (BFS makes sure that the name in combination with the number is unique)
don't worry about yet friended players - the connection will stay on, only that you now will be displayed with the new name.

but what for is the button "dragon magic" ?
I couldn't see any colored pieces when using this button.

If you're feeling courageous, you can load up your old ipad 4 and open the general settings app. Look for GameCenter and see who you're logged in as for GC. Check the name, but also look at the email address. That's the email address you'll need to get your old GameCenter friends back on your newer phones. If you don't remember the password for that account, and don't have access to that email anymore, then you may still be able to reset the password by filling out a security check or sending a text to a phone that you associated with the account.

Your friends still see you under your old name because they're seeing your old GC id. They're not friends with your new GC name/email. But when they gift you, it does get to your park correctly because Backflip links the park id and GC accounts together and it feeds the gems to your existing park regardless. You just can't gift back because you're not on that account. It's weird and overly complicated, but that's how they built it.

You could just use the new friend system, but I would HIGHLY recommend that you get your old id back. Your park is tied to your id, so if you move to a new device then it will not have your park without having that GC or Facebook login. It finds your park today only because it was loaded on that device under the other id, and in another crazy system Backflip implemented you can see any parks that device has used from any accounts. Once you get it back, you can change the email of that id to one you do have access to, though it may have to be unique from your current id on your phone.

The other option is to contact Backflip and let them know everything, and see if they'll move your park from the old GC id to the new.

& thanks to you too Quil, your explanations have made things much clearer. I’m glad you say it’s over complicated - it’s been giving me a right headache! I do know the original email I used all those years ago but think I’m beyond accessing it. I’ve been playing since the start of DragonVale & would hate to lose it altogether so thanks for pointing out the importance of getting my old id back. I think my best option is to contact Backflip, wish me luck!!

At least I did manage to remember my log in details to this forum 😆

Dragon Magic just illuminates (or greys out) all the dragons’ crowns and orbs.

Some observations on the Prismatic Pantheon...

To easily find elder flag bearers in colour with a black & white background:

1. Select 'None' to turn off all colour
2. Select 'Visitors' + the icon for each element

To find Elminster in colour:
• None + Visitors + Epic

Events

To find special visitors or hidden event items:
• None + Visitors + Epic

To find Gardenia (Valentine’s event)
• None + Visitors + Plant + Metal

To find Kaleni (Spring/Easter event)
• None + Visitors + Earth + Light

I know time is short but using Amaryllis (bought) and Muse in the Epic Breeding Sanctuary I got another Amaryllis!!!! First time in the years I've been doing this that I got a limited dragon. Don't have a lot of luck with breeding when I try---- when I put dragons together just to see what I'll get how ever I have much better luck. I put Amaryllis and Muse together just to see what would happen.
My heart goes out to baldyb 13 talk about giving you that sick feeling. You seem to have some really good support here with people who are smart with the computer (lot smarter than I am), hope all works out and I think you have a lot of people in your corner with this.💓🐨🐨🐨

Am I wasting my time? I have been trying to clone Smoulderbush for a week in two parks (Smoulderbrush × Smoulderbrush in one) and just getting Flowers and Poisons. It IS possible to clone out of season, right?
