Backflip replied to a Reddit player and verified they will be 'adding more content and events in DragonVale this season'. The carefully chosen words are (purposefully) vague. But many players are interpreting this as confirmation of a highly rumoured Xmas event.



Even if it’s not a full-fledged Jolly Jubilee or Winter Saga, a final Xmas event would certainly put the merry in Merry Xmas.

Nobody really knows what will happen to DV, and I imagine the situation is fluid so nothing is certain from day to day. So far it looks like DV will either shut down at the end of this year/season, or it’ll stay on the servers and be run via bot for an unknown length of time, with no new updates or content and no support. The only thing we know for certain is Backflip is closing and employees have been laid off.

The work on the winter event has started. I don't see any signs of a Thanksgiving event this year, but they may throw in something re-using a previous event or do something quickly.

Interesting note: The winter event will run until February 5, 2020 if the current dates hold. So I expect DV will not be ending at the end of 2019 and will continue to run in some form, even if not supported or updated.

We are not sure anything can happen. Quil has been keeping us up on what is going on. Read his post
of Oct 29 and the one he posted yesterday Nov 11. Everyone in the community has been supporting
each other the best  we can ever since BF people were laid off and only a few are there as support.

No, no sign of it. I'd like to get it before they stop working on new things, but Easter would have made the most sense to see it re-appear.

For once I actually have the same problem. I've got a little more than 15,000 in event currency, and if they don't come out with something new soon, I'm going to spend it on a Chromacorn.

This event is unfolding just like the last two events. Could not breed any of the dragons so I bought them instead. Haven’t been able to breed even one Rift or one twin, so discouraging.

I have spent over 2 million etherium trying for all of the limited rift versions since the beginning of the event. I only have Fulgurite rift to show for it. 😭

Same, but I manage to breed 8 Eldritch after I bought the 1st one.

Upgraded the app on my Android phone, but no Lost Island upgrade.
