The little 10 Magic Pumpkins spawn one every 4 hours, can have 2 in your park at once, and a total of 5 of them can spawn in your park a day. They're probably the ones you're noticing.
The big one is one spawn a day. The other two types both have 12 hour respawns, 2 spawning of each a day, and can have up to 2 of each in your park at a time.
I only bother collecting them once a day though. 😒 Sub-optimal gameplay oh nooooooo I have clearly brought shame on my family and should be cast out like the Fake Gamer®️ I am
Thanks, Arky, I was starting to think they were mocking me. I would prefer they gave them all right after reset so I could find them, be done with it for the day, and return colour to my park. As it is I have to keep my park colourless the entire day instead of enjoying the event theme. Rather sad way to run an event.
Cyn I don't like a colourless park either. When I collect from habitats, I turn the park colourless and pick up pumpkins and flag bearers as I see them. If I don't get them all, I turn the colour back on, do whatever else I wanted to do (feed, breed, admire) and leave. I am in and out of my park several times a day, but only turn it colourless two or three times. If I miss some, I miss some. I am trying to be not quite as obsessive with this event......

He was coloured the first day, but I've missed him every day since barring last night because he was on an empty island and was more noticeable. He's definitely black and white in my park...how do I get him to show up in colour without making all my visitors coloured?
A tip I find handy. I also added to the game section on the front page.
If you are better at one of the free games than others and would like to know when a free golden chest will pop up, pick Dragon Drop. If the chest is there, you can close out and pick a different game like Name the Egg or Name the Dragon and you are prepared for a chest. Once it appears for that turn even if you back out you get a chest with whatever game you choose.

I select none, then turn on everything except islands and basic. The islands ground and their outer edge themes are grayed. The tiny visitors are grayed. But everything else is in color. The flag bearers and pumpkins and any wizards, including Whitbee and are in color and easy to spot. Even if they are stacked on top of one another, a glimpse of color shines though. There is enough color to not feel deprived so I can keep it this way all the time.

Thank you amos and theresa great tips. Did I miss it or is the full moon that has been part of the back drop not there tonight? I did look for it but couldn't find -- the green tinted ghost shaped clouds and bright stars are there but no 🌙. Just wondering if something didn't load right on my game. Not a big deal just wondering. Thanks.
Hint.....I purchase the basic dragons from the market ie. Fire, lightening, earth etc 🙃
I do this for short dragons, but some of the longer ones I don't want to wait hours and don't want to spend gems. What I'll do instead is breed with their opposite in the rift, for example if I need a basic lightning dragon then I'll breed a rift current with a rift lightning or rift water, and you'll get a basic lightning pretty quickly. Usually only takes a few tries at most.

So far, this event has been pretty slow paced and event candies have not been too difficult to get. There is only one dragon out. Since I still have not been able to breed the Eldritch, I am wondering if I should just buy it from the Bazaar. I have managed to squirrel away 22,000+ candies at this time. (Only doing one to two bingo cards a day, and not capturing all the pumpkins)....I am so afraid that once I spend the candies, a few new dragons will come out! Opinions, anyone?

Eldritch is not a limited dragon in the bazaar, so I'm holding off at this stage. There are bound to be limited dragons released soon, which may be better to spend the candies on.

I'm not buying Eldritch right now. I think it's better to wait and stockpile my candies for the time being. As usual, I play every day and even completed a few bingo cards, and all I have to show for my efforts is a little more than 10,000 in event currency. So I'm saving it now, and eagerly awaiting the appearance of the four new dragons.

So I’ve noticed a strange black fog that covers one of my islands in my park. Is it supposed to do that? It disappears when I zoom out. But it’s hard to see my dragons through it. And the far edge of this black/dark grey shadow is orange.

I guess never mind. After a few more zoom in zoom outs and tapping on it it went away. Must have been a glitch cause it’s back to normal now. my comet dragon got stuck and frozen for a bit from lag but it went back to normal

I just went ahead and bought it (up for breeding in Coop). Since I have most of the dragons on offer already, I don't really need to save, considering it's easy to get candy.
I'm saving up to complete the evolution decorations from last year. I have a heap of Mystery Eggs in my gift menu and enough wishes to get dragons if I can't buy them (I hope). Going to focus on stuff that isn't easy to get without spending (~1800 gems IIRC).
Is Eldritch actually breedable right now? It's showing as not available and I've had all my breeding centers full up trying to get it since the start of this event...

It was only available in all caves for about the first 15 minutes of the event. Now it is only available to parent clone in the social cave and then once you have one to parent clone in your own caves.

This happened to me too once. Definitely seemed like some kind of glitch. I restarted the game, everything went back to normal and has been fine ever since.
