I didn't think you could clone monolith dragons - but I just did.
Mono 6 + Flower in the rift yielded 3 more mono 6 dragons today. Not sure whether deca have taken pity on us and changed the odds or if I was very lucky.
If anyone wants an extra mono to evolve, single parent cloning might be better than the listed breeding pair (any two monoliths).
Koala all!
Interesting! I had been trying for a non-rifted Mono 6 in the Rift using the old technique and very rarely would get a Mono 6 (rifted of course). After reading your post, I tried breeding my Mono 6 with my Ironwrought and got a non-rifted Mono 6 after 3 tries! I’m curious if this was an intentional change on Deca’s part. Can anyone with access to the game files see if the numbers have been changed for the Monos?
Thanks for the tip, Alice. Koalas right back atcha!

In both of my two parks, I have half the decorations needed for evolving the new dragons. One park has no black decorations while the other has no green decorations. I know that there are always a couple of decorations less common than others so it is harder to complete the set, but all of one colour?
If you’re at the halfway point or a little past 1/2 way, I recommend buying the $E1,800 Chests, which will guarantee a unique Decoration.
I have only played a couple of events with evolve decorations, but there does seem to be a significant difference in the number of decorations you can get without spending gems in this event versus those others. I have never spent gems for the extra game plays since gems are needed for so many other things like speeding up breeding attempts. In both of my parks, I still only have 2 decorations although my little park did get a third which was a duplicate. I have three each if you count my unopened chests sitting in my gift menus. After thinking about it, I believe that there are two main reasons for the difference. First, eggs and visitors only give event currency. In previous events they occasionally gave decorations and even dragons. Second, we no longer receive a gift along with gems on double days. Just as earning currency was harder last time because Deca simplified the event, I think decorations have become more scarce because of those small changes. Would others who have been playing all these years agree, or are chests also popping up far less often in the mini-game? I’m not upset, nor am I trying to make others upset. I’m just curious. I like to analyze things and figure them out, and I have been surprised at how few decorations I have gotten for these evolve dragons.
Hi wapatango . I don't think that it is more difficult to get decorations in this event than in past events. Like you I had a long pause in playing DV but started right before the Christmas event 2018. There were 10 evolution dragons and each needed 10 decorations. On top the mini-games were not my favorites. the free chests were very rare. I remember everybody talking about all those decos they already had when I only had two. Then I started my training in one of those mini-games and bought a lot of plays. I ended up having all decorations and all new evolution dragons. This time I early went ahead and bought extra plays. Name that egg is my favourite game. I spent round about 500 gems (after all: what for are those gems ?) I only lost two plays (tapping before thinking) and got 24 of the decorations. With selling the duplicates and a bit of the magic eggs I got from those plays I bought 3 chests. I opened the gifted chest and was only missing one more deco which I intended to get on day 24 as gift. Yesterday morning I got another chest from a free game and was thrilled that the missing piece was in it. So I now have all decorations. I know I was really lucky. My gems are amassing anew. If I'm not too generous with speedups I will soon reach my standard gem amount again.
I think if you really want to evolve those dragons you should spend the gems early. That way you have more time you can use for cloning while people share those new dragons in coop.
If you don't care about having those evolution dragons in the rift you can also buy them. At least this is possible in this event (it was not possible in that Christmas event) The other event dragons (woodvine and Clairvoyant) will most possibly be available to breed in future BEBs. But evolution dragons not. Instead of you then might be able to buy decorations with gems but they are really costy. (I don't know if it will be like this with Deca, but it has been like this in the past)
I agree w/ crumble608 . Spend your Gems early to get the extra plays. Eventually, you will get half of the Decos and then you will be getting about 85% Duplicates. At that point, use E$Cash to buy the Chests to get the remaining Decorations.
At the last similar Event, we had to get 100 unique Decorations. I DID manage to get all of them but I used up nearly all my Gems. It has taken me till this Event to get back over 3,800 Gems. I used about 1,000 of those to get 25 Decorations...got the other 15 w/E$Cash and still have enough to use for buying Dragons.

Wow! 3,800 gems. I only have around 1,400, and I need to buy some more habitats that require gems. I haven’t done it yet because I haven’t taken the time to figure out how I am going to rearrange things to my satisfaction. I really liked my opposite island with all dragons with opposite elements on the same island. However, there are now so many of them, I’m going to have to separate them. I have a question. Do extra game plays cost more if you buy more than the first play? Is that why it is better to spend your gems early rather than waiting till near the end? Thanks again for helping me learn some of the new mechanics of the game.
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

I wrote a post about Tolzar’s visions/ads that addresses this issue. Scroll down to the section titled Colosseum. Basically, it’s a matter of waiting for Tolzar’s Optical Oracle to appear in your park and keeping your game session short. The more your park grows, the longer it takes for Tolzar’s Oracle to arrive and the shorter your session is allowed.
I haven’t had any problems receiving the Colosseum ad since posting that in November. In a couple hours, the Colosseum will be ready in my game. If the ad doesn’t show, I’ll let you know.
Reason 1 I have covered. I always make sure Tolzar is in the park. But reason 2, I didn't know about and have no idea if I am in too long when I try to watch the ad. I will be hyper aware of that the next time I try to collect which will be about 18 hours from now. Thank you adlerist. You are absolutely awesome!!
Okay, I made sure to attempt to watch the ad in the colosseum as soon as I logged in. It worked.
Many thanks to a most magnificent and marvelous moderator who is now an awesome and appreciated administrator.
(such shameless and awful alliteration should be illegal.)

No, they always stay at 5 gems per play.
During one event BFS made a weekend or so where all payed games were set to give at least one decoration. This could be a reason to not spend the gems early. But I don't think that we will get something like this again.

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!
You’ll need to purchase two traited Monolith dragons from the Monolith Egg of Mystery (whenever they’re available in the the Rift Market). Or if you’re patient and/or lucky, you can receive a traited Monolith from the regular or epic mystery eggs that are permanently for sale in the Rift. Breeding two traited Monoliths, even if they’re the same Monolith, or if they’re the new evolve Monoliths, can result in a traited Monolith 1-6.

Amazing! How did you get your first Rifted Mono6?
It's a twin, so I think it must have come out of a rift monolith mystery egg. Not on sale atm though, so not much help if you don't have one.

I see Adlerist beat me to it with a far more comprehensive answer! I'd forgotten you could get them from the regular or epic eggs too. All I have to add is, if you only have one rifted monolith, breeding it with any other dragon may parent clone it (by my recent experience) - then you can breed the two together.

Yes, this is true. Only one is needed. A looong time ago you had to have two Monoliths to get another but nowadays you just need one. 😊
I have been trying soooooo many times as well. Finally got a second one last night, was hoping for a twin but nope... At least I have two. I will probably try to breed in runic caves because I only need a few more twins to have them all again and only a few rifts needed as well. Need to update my profile speaking of...
Whaddya know? Almost immediately after reading your post amos , I finally bred my second Clairvoyant. Looks like some of your koalas found their way over to me. Do they read this forum? Anyhow, Koala getting your few remaining twins!
And then they came back my way. I put both my Clairvoyants into the runic cave and got Clairvoyant egg first try. 🐨🐨🐨 Now back to my 24 hour Void fails in the coop cave trying for a twin. Haha. I have probably received 50 or more friend twins from using Clairvoyant and not one Clairvoyant in the bunch so I know the coop cave odds are terrible even with using two. Shocked I was able to get my first one since it was harder to get the second one. 😳 I may have enough claims to get twin and twin rift anyway if it doesn’t come along.

In my experience it’s waaay cheaper to just buy two Rift monoliths from the monolith mystery eggs. I tried cloning a monolith 4 with another dragon in the Rift for almost 2 weeks and never got it. For the amount of E it takes to clone another Monolith 4 I could have bought all the Monoliths from the rift store.
I saw I wasn’t making good use of my E so I stopped trying to clone and waited for the mono eggs to come back and got my monoliths from there. The Monolith dragons aren’t very easy to breed even if you have 2 or breed 2 of the same. It’s even difficult in the park. If you can wait for them to be in the store please take my advise and don’t make my mistake, just buy a couple mono mystery eggs. I hope that helps other players 😊😊😊

I totally agree with you about using two is always easier but just want people to know it is possible. Most breeding sites say you MUST use two which is not the case except for the new evolve dragons. All evolve dragons require two to produce another.

Just to be clear, the DV sandbox does not claim you MUST have two Monoliths to breed Monolith 1-6 (there is a Tidal glitch, so be aware, and ignore top combos with Tidal). The DragonVale breeding apps by The Next Flow (Breeding Guide for DragonVale and DragonBreed for DragonVale) also do not state this.
DV sandbox and The Next Flow’s apps are the most commonly used sources for breeding suggestions, but there may be others. I highly recommend players use one of these breeding guides because they are reliable sources that are regularly updated.

Thanks to the advice of the many knowledgeable and kind people on this forum, I have all my ivy leafs and all but 4 of the other needed decorations. Now, am I correct that the smartest thing would be to evolve 2 rift mono 3’s and then just parent clone them in my main park to get them there? Since I still haven’t managed to get a woodvine or clairvoyant in the co-op, I have to reserve enough eggs to buy them just in case.

If you particularly want two rifted Hedera dragons then yes, that is much cheaper than buying them with eggs. If you only want one rifted, then I would suggest breeding the rifted one with one in co-op. I'm sure that you could find a friend to put one in for you. IF these evolved dragons have the same odds as the last evolved dragons (Aubergine, Karroot etc) they were relatively easy to clone in the social cave. You could always evolve one and try cloning in co-op and see how many attempts it takes.
I haven't been able to breed either Woodvine or Clairvoyant in co-op either, so I'm also saving my eggs in case I have to buy them at the end of the event.

I have all 4 sets of evolution items, but don’t understand something. Which Monolith dragons do we use for which evolution? Is the answer right in front of me, but i’m Overlooking it? I answered my own question by looking on DV Wiki. But now I have another. If I evolve my one rifted monolith 4 into a Hedera, will that Hedrra be rifted. Or should I keep the rifted mono as it is & just evolve a Reg mono into a Hedera? Thanks!
