Used Event Flowers to buy 5 more Paradise Habitats for 1,000 each and they don’t count against your Habitat limit. I’d buy more but I don’t have any more room. They can hold 4 of any combination of Water, Air, Light & Rainbow. What a bargain!
Don’t know if you are speaking of island space, tower space or both but they stack up using one space in storage tower. Sure you know that but thought I’d put that out anyway.🐚
I don't understand this. Surely only surface dragons can go in the surface/paradise habitat? I've tried putting rainbow, light, water and combination dragons in my new habitats, but it won't let me. I think that if I want them full of dragons I'd better get breeding more surface dragons?

There are two different habitats. They are in different tiers in the rewards. Surface can Certainly only take Surfsce dragons. But the Paradise can take those other 4.

But isn't it the Paradise habitats I've been buying from this last event?
That said, the Paradise Habitat for 1000 is the best long term bang for your buck. As they don't count against your Habitat limit you can get a heap (putting extras in your Storage Tower).

I agree. Habitats that do not count against your limit are usually few and far between. I have bought 25 so far. The next island will be Paradise. ☀️🌈
amos and CesspitX, why are the Paradise Habitats best? I don't disagree - in fact I'm thinking the same thing, but I can't put my finger on exactly why. Is it because they can hold multiple types of dragons and are so versatile?

Almost all habitats count towards a max limit. There are certain reward habitats that do not but there isn’t that many and most of these are limited to either just one or only a few. These do not count towards the habitat limit or have a limit on them, a great space and habitat making money investment. If you only need more money check out the post by MinyaZ for buying pedestals/surface habitat.

I now have a Paradise habitat on one of my rainbow islands and I have two Rainbow dragons on it. I tried moving a light and also a water dragon on and did so with no problem. The Surface habitats only hold Surface dragons (2) and the Paradise hold (4) Rainbow, Light, Water or Air. The Paradise do not count towards your habitat count and the Surface do. Go into the market and then habitats check your count if you know what your count was before and that number has gone up you know you have been getting the Surface habitats. Paradise habitats are under Reunion and are next to the water theme for the islands the Surface are under Isle when you open you see Oaris and Grove. The Surface habitats are at the bottom as you scroll down they are the last item. Paradise habitats are square have aqua for water, sand and rocks along with a few palms the Surface are round have a waterfall with stream or river green for grass rocks and a pines. Hope this helps.

They are both available this event. Surface habitats are in the Isle Tier. Paradise habitats are in the Reunion Tier. :-)

Well that explains it! Just too quick to spend my money and I bought the wrong habitats. Never mind - I can breed more surface dragons to fill them and they didn't count in my habitat number so I still have about six more habitats to buy if/when the Paradise ones become available again.

Interesting that the Surface didn’t count in your habitat count for Vale. I bought one to see and my habitat count for the Vale went up by one.

Maybe we have to take a step behind: in DV there's a habitat limit. Which means you can only get a certain amount of habitats. If you have maxed out this number you won't be able to buy any other habitat even if you have more space available on your islands. When you go in the market into habitats it shows you that you have for example 101/130. So you can only buy 29 more habitats. You can expand the max count with gems but its expensive. In a lot of event there were habitats as prizes. Some of them are called reward habitats. These ones don't count against the maximum. The paradise habitats are of this type, they don't up your habitat counter. On plus they are respectively small for a habitat with place for 4 rainbows. you can put a lot of them on one island. Means much more rainbow dragons can be housed to earn a lot of cash.

same here The surface habitat is not a reward habitat. Only the paradise habitat is. I really hope this won't be changed...

gweny and Quil (please tell your lovely wife, Quil), you are THE ABSOLUTE TOPS! May gems and treats follow you wherever you go. I shall start by sending you some.

Thanks for putting that idea in my head. Now I can't get it out LOL. Nightmare scenarios dancing like demented sugar plums. Thoughts of waking up one morning and all my paradise habitats are gone or worse they are not gone and my habitat limit is maxed out and all my gems gone instead to pay for the overture from going over the limit of what I had available in habitats to purchase.

keep calm (and play dragonvale)
The only thing that could happen if they change it is that your habitat counter is maxed out and that you can't buy another habitat. If this would happen you then can think if you want to keep it that way or -if you urgently need another habitat - you will have to stow some of the dragons in the hibernation cave and sell the paradise habitat/s

You said WHEN they change it, not IF they change it. Was that purposeful or just an unfortunate word choice?
I'm thinking of changing my forum name to Henny Penny.
I had high hopes for that avatar. But up to this point the only part that had any influence on me was Play Dragonvale.
Sorry, english is not my mother language. In german we mix up the use of if and when. It should of course have been "if they change it"
I was fairly certain of that. I was joking around. I keep forgetting that humour does not translate well online. Sorry about that. I do it way too often to very mixed results. You would think I would stop it, wouldn't you.

I don't think there is any way they could do this and be fair to all of the players. I was already maxed out on habitats before buying 24 paradise habitats (heh heh) during this event. If they suddenly counted against our total, I'd have to sell 24 habitats to even be back at the even point. And since these habitats have never counted against our totals, it would just make a horrible mess of things. I'm hoping DECA is aware enough to not open this particular can of worms!

Perhaps, hopefully, this is a trend for DECA and not a mistake. Maybe they are letting up on the limits for reward habitats all around. I always thought that BFS was unnecessarily miserly with the number allowed for some of the reward habitats (I'm talking to you, Ornamental habitats!) and it forced me to use up my Omnitats to accommodate new event dragons. Fingers crossed!

That would be great if they started letting us have more reward habitats. I'm currently maxed out on the number of Spooky habitats I'm allowed to have in my park, and yet I still have plenty of room for more on my Halloween/fall themed island.
Hopefully they'll let us have an unlimited amount of Spooky habitats when Whitbee's Candy Bash rolls around. I'd really like to bring out some of my dragons from hibernation and add some more habitats to my special spooky island. 🕷🍂🎃🕸👻

We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.

Yes, this. We need more Ornamental and Spooky Habitats.
